He possesses dynamic and dazzling virtuosity, a uniquely percussive style - “I use the body of my guitar to produce kicks, snares, scratches” - and awe-inspiring ingenuity as an arranger and producer across multiple styles and genres. So it is little surprise that Sony Music Masterworks signed young Polish guitarist Marcin almost immediately upon hearing him. Now, for his eagerly anticipated first single on the label, the 19-year-old guitar superstar releases his own innovative arrangement of the first and third movements of Beethoven’s famous ‘Moonlight Sonata’.

    • Honestly, I kind of feel like it's Beethoven's middle finger to his own generations narrow mind on music. He starts out with this cryptic hypnotic beautiful melody, in the 1st movement, then goes all traditionalist with the second movement, almost in a sarcastic way IMO. Then he blows your mind with the 3rd movement, greatest musician of all time.

Marcin is a rare example of what a genius who isn't afraid of hard work can accomplish.

Stunning technique, beautiful rhythm, articulation, expression, interpretation, dynamics and emotion. I've been playing guitar my entire life and my favorite guitarist has always been maestro Andre Segovia. Young man, I would place this performance in the same same category and quality as the great Spanish virtuoso classical guitarist Segovia. Outstanding performance! Keep up the good work. /Nick

    • Segovia would ban you from being his fan if he read your comment. Perhaps more than anyone, Segovia would be utterly unimpressed. There is no actual emotion in this performance, it’s all dazzling speed to wow ppeople, same bullshit professional pianists have been lurking around at for hundreds of years speeding every piece up to dazzle the audience. It’s egotistic. Notice how nobody’s loving this song, they’re loving the guy for his flashy techniques. The song becomes irrelevant, that’s why Segovia would shit all over this guy.

  • can´t stop listening to this guy, he is absolutely out of this planet. I mean, since youtube exists I?ve had many opportunities to listen to talented young people. I called them "youtube sons" cause they have the chance to listen to the great ones and play them over and over again...but this young man has a particular relationship with his instrument, you can't tell where does he begin and where does the guitar ends, like they are two parts of the same thing. Furthermore, he gets so many different colorful sounds from the chords and he plays so passionately... so many different feelings...all I have to say is he has a precious endless soul, and a whole new sense. I've jus checked that he didn't win America's got talent and I immediately thought: "what a ...., the fact is that he didn't need to participate, I guess the judges said, ok, this guy doesn't need us, he is beyond this competition, actually, we don't know what the hell is he doing here...it's like Beethoven coming to a competition and everybody says, ok Beethoven, we already know how good you are, now leave mortals an opportunity here"

    • That first time he stepped on the stage & opened with Beethoven's fifth, I rolled my eyes and was like "Wow, fuckin cocky. Don't do that unless you can back it up."
