Adding Poison Dart Frogs to Minecraft and Weaponizing them. Minecraft 1.19 the Wild Update is gonna introduce the deep dark, Warden, but more importantly, frogs and a revamped swamp biome! But what about jungles? Wouldn't it be fun if they had poison dart frogs, that you could then use as weapons? I asked myself the question and as usual decided to make a funny and hilarious Minecraft mod.

This is probably the most vanilla feeling mod you’ve ever made, it surprises me just how much this fits in the game, like the textures, achievements, and death messages
I think that the only thing I would add would be a dart thrower with bamboo and feathers so you can throw further

Honestly why don't Mojang rename the current frogs with "Toads" and add THESE as the real frogs. Way cooler in my opinion
The normal frogs are a lot more toad like. I think poison dart frogs would be amazing if added in

rename the currents frogs to forgs and the poison frogs will be frogs
Seriously bro. I was thinking about this. I just told myself to cope with the inaccuracy "maybe they're goliath frogs, that's why they're so big". The frog in the biome vote animation was more of a frog than what we have now. I like these ones better, although they're big, they look pretty cool and actually like frogs.

The numbness effect could be used as a CRAZY last stand tool. Imagine you’re in pvp on 1 heart and you lick this, manage to barely kill the enemies before the 20 seconds end, and then drop dead from the numbness wearing off. That would be really intense and cool.
Or, better yet, thrown down a healing potion and lick a coma boye to heal as much as possible
That would be a great trump card for pvp
like a berserker
Or use a totem and absorb crit chains and even end crystal spams
In one of his vids, he used a totem of undying to cancel out the damage after the numbness wore off
Imagine doing the '' How did we get here?'' advancement in survival with this frogs
I like to imagine that the "how did we get here" can only be achieved af"taste the rainbow"

My only regret is that I have only one like to give this video; poison darts are just awesome! Glad to see more of the development process you go through in this video, including the little tweaks as you fine tune the mob behavior is interesting.
the green frog effect is absolutely amazing. It would be so useful when just falling in lava and needing to get to the shore for your stuff not to burn
Pre potions anyways, after you get nether wart just make fire res pots. But yeah still cool and definitely has use cases
Also, you can use it for (niche scenario) if you need to take a lot of damage, but you can heal afterwards. Like you have to jump off of a cliff but you have a bunch of healing potions to heal up afterwards (you would have died, but you healed up that damage so you wouldn’t take damage from the numbness going away.)
@@cube4923 YES. Mobs are killing you, you don't have time to eat. Slurp the frog (that sounds weird) and run away, then eat and splash health pots.

I love all the colors the frogs have, especially the red and blue one. And the animations are just so smooth and pretty. I liked you showing the bugs and steps before the finished product, the Mario kart frogs were amazing.

The frog on your head should give the effect to other players if they use their hand/swords to hurt you, but can only withstand the same amount of hits if it were on the ground

You can give it to them by using your hand, or charging a bow for 3 secs for the venom to drip onto the arrow. It shouldn't be if they dmge you
but you do have to pay for that so it would be Pay to win

Here's an idea: Frogs on rats, or dart throwing rats. Make the mods compatible, along with maybe a different death message when you hit a frog instead of taste testing, cuz you punched it why would you have taste tested it? I also think that players who hit players that have a frog on their head would get the effect of that frog.

Yeah I hope they improve the jungle biome in the wild update, or at least make a Jungle update in the future.
Yeah they should honestly redo the jungle biome and add more mobs like this, and the amount of animals they could add just would make it a really cool update

I love seeing how much fun you clearly had with making and playtesting this mod! All the amusing bugs along the way, figuring out the movement and development, and messing around with the poison effects with friends, all lovely
There is one funny detail I noticed by accident due to someone timestamping the dart minigun is that the darts when you hit a player with it, instead of a dart appearing on them, it an arrow, guess rat forgot to render the code for it
You should do a survival series with all the new mobs and changes to the ones that are already in the game! I would see that

My first thought about seeing doctor4t coding his frogs where "why didn’t he just copy the ai of the actual minecraft frogs then build upon them?" Well, lazness aside, just the start with the sliding frogs made coding them yourself all worth it - me, who is just watching

The idea that combat could be vastly docent depending on where you’re fighting or how well traveled you are is pretty dang good, paralysis needs balancing but this revolutionizes jungles and fighting in jungle terrain where getting a clear shot is difficult in trees, it solves the getting yourself with your own splash potions, this is just so good for everyone
These are all op, the damage immunity one is extremely op if you are able to spam them to prevent it from ever running out.

This reminds me of frogs concept artwork! There was artwork done of blue frogs that looked to be based on poison dart frogs; Really sad they never got added as the coloration of them were super pretty and vibrant, I prefer them over the ones we got
I love how this guy managed to make a mod that feels more vanlilla than the actual frogs added in 1.19
Stimulation should deal all the damage when the effect ends. That way it’s like you are numbed to exhaustion but it all hits you at once once you feel it again. Like with numbness.
It makes sense, but we already have numbness, so there's no point.

Also, damage is dealt at a rate of 1 hunger to 2 health, so maybe half dealt now and the other after

Quite enjoyed watching the wonkyness of the creative possess I can honestly say I've not seen some of these potion effects witch is a real accomplishment considering all the variation with in modded minecraft Throwing dart such a simple concept but a very rare site I love it

I would love to see a lab to this. Take a stick, and hit a dart frog with a chance to swab the poisonous slime. Burn it in a flame beaker thingy, then spin in a centrifuge, before dripping it into a cauldron using dripstone. Take a bottle, fill up the poison, and use it in a brewing stand

Nah man Mojang honestly needs to hire you with the amount of ideas you have with modding and features. This is probably the most Vanilla-looking mod that should already be in the game alongside frogs in The Wild Update. This is amazing

Wearing the frog on the head should cause the effect of that frog to pass to anybody that attacks you. Like a deadlier version of thorns
Love the mod! It would be really cool if the borders on the numbness hearts changed to show how much damage you had taken. I have no idea how reasonable this is to implement, but it would be a great quality of life improvement.
I think the point is exactly to not know the damage.
I think that each frog should allow you to collect 3 poison darts so it takes longer to farm

I feel like a very nice (morbid, but ultimately interesting) feature could be suicidal frogs. Every, say 1 in 10000 frogs will intentionally overshoot, especially near ledges or lava. Plus, if you manage to find one, and they have no physical difference, then try to keep it alive! If you manage to keep one alive for ten in-game days straight (while being within 50 blocks the whole time), you get an advancement! Maybe “Good Person” or something

You should add some sort of way to coat them in your inventory like holding the darts in your off hand while you hold the frog of your choice in your main hand
So Numbness will delay all your damage to when it runs out, even if you end it early with milk, but what happens if you refresh it by licking the frog again? Will you take the damage or does it delay it further? Also, does Numbness account for healing you recieve? Like if you took lethal damage but then healed an equal amount would you be fine once it runs out?

It would make little sense, but just an idea. If you can put frogs on your head, what if it gave you immunity to the effect corresponding to the equipped frog?

You make amazing content, I love seeing all these little animals and their funny quirks. You are really good at modding and I’d love to see all sorts of animals and kids coming to Minecraft from you.

Well some of the ideas in this vid are kinda far fetched by Minecraft standards but overall I think poison dart frogs would be great.
Mojang actually added several things that was done by the community, such as pistons or horses

Could you maybe add the ability to brew a poison dart into a potion of its effect? That would be very useful, considering the short time that darts effect the player.
