I'm not saying they are cheating but that would be stacking the deck a little and gta does work that way with spawns tho. I've never tested the theory or even own a 9 f idk just a thought.

  • GG to Verdilith for the stream record! 🌟 And Broughy, I'm sorry to see that you are maybe not enjoying participating in Gfreds as much anymore. I don't care whether you win or not, it's always been just a fun race to watch, and it's sad seeing some of the Gfred spirit go away. I started watching other people stream Gfreds as well because they would play them often and I was happy to see my favourite type of race so frequently. It feels a bit unfair to complain about people playing this gamemode often because they enjoy it so much. I am happy for those that love it, whether to watch it or to just play it. It feels a bit sad to see your reaction to these Gfreds recently. In this video particularly it feels like you are pinning the lack of enjoyment on those that do well and it doesn't seem nice. As you said, maybe you will go back to OG line. Whatever feels fun for you, that's what's fun for most of the audience too, in my opinion. I hope you prioritise enjoying yourself, even if it means not necessarily doing Gfreds anymore. Or maybe creating a new race from scratch. Just hope you have fun! 💖 I hope I wasn't out of line with this comment. Hope you have a nice day!

Whether that be a handicapped version for the top performers, more variations to lessen the impact of the final result by making the actual driving more varied/interesting, an entirely new, semi-competitive, carnage filled final hooray for Sunday streams, or something different alltogether: I'm looking forward to what the future holds in store :) !

  • Psst, the Start: instead of doing your spiel on the island, focus on the race and do your spiel in the water/run. This does two things, gets you into the start of the pack and provides content in the "dry" section. Chiliad descent: It's all in the setup, just spend the five minutes to see one of RBS's videos where he does it. Then just consistently try it, once you get the initial lineup, the rest is managing the bounces from air control. Hail Mary: Don't change a thing. This is one of the major drama points of what made GFreds a "thing" even back before Sarah came up with the Hail Mary, the old parachute line could fail or gain positions depending, which is unlike other races where the one in the lead toward the end just wins and you might as well stop watching, here there's risk, it's all on the line and could go either way. Both groups, those of us who root for you to do better and those who like to see fails get an emotional "hit" when disaster strikes which is compelling.

  • One bit in the middle that could be improved is the start of the 'middle route/elevator' where others carry a lot more speed in the transition and get up the inclines a bit easier because of it... as well as faster. Regaining that momentum really takes time.

    @Mister_H.@Mister_H.2 ай бұрын
    • Yep every race hes had where he died is all cos hes taking a poor line into it. You can actually go back and see his good jumps and he would always swing left after he hits the jump to get the distance. For whatever reason he goes right now which means he lacks distance and speed so the car is unpredictable and when he exits the car its usually still either going up or just starting to come down but he hasnt cleared the road so he just hits it. Theres a reason he has never died to his car before the recent attempts, when you swing left after the jump the angle and trajectory of your car is lower so when you exit it clears you and goes below you while you stay above as you open the chute. He used to do this all the time ive no idea why hes changed his method hahaha

If people didn't practice and find ways to improve then they'd still be doing it the original way and there'd be no hail Mary or new lines. • Have you ever thought of making some more GFRED routes? Like different starting, finishing and checkpoint spots? Maybe have some of the loyal racers in the streams come up with some new ideas for new & challenging routes? I mean, if IndyCar just did a 500 mile race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway every week, the race would lose it's luster pretty quick. But there's only one Indy 500 each year. Everything else before & after that revolves around it. Maybe do this classic GFRED once per season (perhaps as a finale) and have another series of new GFRED's lead up to it. That would make this special race that much more special and, perhaps, you wouldn't feel as burned-out on it as you pretty clearly do these days. Just in idea that popped into my head. Always enjoy your content no matter what :)

Yes the usual skilled individuals will win some GFREDs at the beginning of a season, but then it becomes interesting in it's own right to see from how far back they can keep repeating victories, as well as providing opportunities for newer faces to duke it out at the front. Banning anything or changing who is allow into which lobbies and when will only damage the community as a whole.

I'm sure Brough gets quite busy, and puts in some real hours at times, but lets be for real for a moment, and get over ourselves if we think Brough plops down on his computer chair at 7am, and doesn't leave till 7pm every night.

  • Ah man, that's a tough one. I don't like all this blaming on "pro" players just because they play Gfred a lot more than other people, this is just what happens with any competitive game ever. The main issue is that Brough seems to be seriously tired and possibly going through a burnout. Hope this off-season is enough for a well-deserved rest. Now, as for his performance, that was undeniably poor. Two car changes, settling for a below average Sultan, failing the Hail Mary. This has nothing to do with other people. I really hope Brough drops this "10 hours a day" narrative, practicing is unavoidable to iron out these mistakes. No one is demanding consistent record-breaking performance, just that he stops making so many mistakes on his own, which is perfectly possible with a few hours of practice, maybe counseling from other players. Denying this will only fuel the anger towards better racers. (Still, I'm not against some sort of handicap to even out the playing field against freakishly good players, or even doing more variations to make things less predictable)

    @StrixLuke@StrixLuke2 ай бұрын
  • So the solution for being bad at Gfred is giving the good players time penalties or inventing rules so they can't compete at all? Just because, as he said, he doesn't want to spend a lot of time getting better? How is that fair to the players who do spend time getting better? Put in time and you get punished? This is beyond childish. If you don't like Gfreds anymore, stop playing them. There are enough other people who will gladly take over the Gfred torch.

  • As someone who's been watching and lurking since GFREDs were on the other channel; it's kinda sad to see the enjoyment going away from this race for Broughy; its always been a nice video to watch every week and I hope that it won't stop for a long time from now. As for what was said in the video; I don't disagree that GFRED is less fun and whimsical than it once was, but like every game, there will always be those who enjoy it enough or are competitive enough to get really good at it and you'll naturally just get better players; who will therefore be more likely to win and I don't think that's a bad thing; I like the idea of handicaps carrying through a season as you mentioned, but maybe something like +20 seconds for a first place finish, +10 seconds for a second place and +5 seconds for a third place would be a good system? perhaps you could gift subs or give a special tshirt to people who win a GFRED on stream, for winning a GFRED with a handicap above a certain length? I don't really know where I'm going with this; I just don't want to see it change too much, but I also don't like seeing Broughy lose the old GFRED spirit and burn out on the mode. To end with a positive/suggestion: any chance of ever getting project homecoming to make a random mode with a timer for vehicle changes instead of changing per lap? I'd love to see a GFRED with a car change every 45 seconds or so and I think a lot of people would also like to see something along those lines; it would add that element of luck from random all and would both lessen the frequency of the same few people like verdilith winning every race, while also changing up strategy: "you may be in an infernus now, but will you risk the hotlap line up chiliad when you could change into a tornado half way up?" and doing that without straight up handicapping other players. It would of course only be for PC GFREDs, but still, would be nice to see once a month or something if it could happen. and yes, I'm aware that plenty of people could have made the exact same suggestions already, I just want to say that you can count me among those who's like to see something like them if changes are needed to stop Broughy from burning out.

But it becomes an issue once you personally complain about it too much, as while the complaints are somewhat understandable they just lessen the entertainment (imo). It would be way better if you could simply enjoy doing Gfreds regardless of your final position in the race - sure with ambition to do good, but as others have said: In that case, you'll need to invest some time and practice. Or don't practice, but then please only do Gfreds if they are fun for you (they are still lots of fun to watch).

  • I dont think there is anything you can do to improve your start when your host starting position is at the far left of the island where your prime route fast track down is blocked or slowed by a cliff cut. You will do a lot better by changing your host starting position to the middle or far right. I am not a big fan of punishing good players for being good but you could put Verdilith or RBS to the far left as they can still do the BMX jump boost to make up for that disadvantaged start. When you use the scuba suit you always go far down low to the ground which slows you down based on my observation and then you swim right behind other players legs which gets you to resurface. Highway luck nothing much more you can do really you have always been disadvantaged from your starting position so feeding on scraps there. 3 routes to Mt Chillard now decision based on weather/vehicle is good. You dont make mistakes there. Chilliad descent just stick with your current route down if you want top 5s or at least be competitive. I believe full senders should be rewarded for their efforts. Observatory transition has always been your strong point. Hill Mary execution can be inproved and you have shown previously you can execute it quite well so it is definitely something you can do. Otherwise the OG route finish can still work for you well for Top 5 placement if you want to focus on good results.

It would be sad to see handicaps placed on the top guys, it kind of ruins the Gfred spirit. I think it would kill the hype of the race in my opinion, sure maybe other people might start winning but I like the fact that people are forced to work hard to keep up with guys like RBS and Verdilith. At that point handicaps may as well be placed on guys like Lok when it comes to random alls and I don't think anyone would want to see that either. This is just my opinion anyway.
