Understanding your motorcycle's brake | Disc Brake
Today’s motorcycles and cars are equipped with a very efficient braking system. They are so efficient that your vehicle stops safely, within a fraction of a second, in the case of an emergency. You pull the brake lever, the brake fluid, near to the lever gets compressed. Via a brake line this compressed fluid is directly connected to the brake pad, so the brake pads are activated. This braking system that you just saw was developed over the last five decades of research and practical experiences. Let’s learn how engineers developed such an efficient braking system, or more specifically, let’s learn the interesting physics behind disc brakes.

Brave woman. She is just as calm even when her car is sliding. 👍🏼
Whilst barely riding rods in high heels
@@mohanbhartiya2705 rods? What kind of rods?........
i also noticed the woman wasn't breathing. they used a dead woman instead...so thoughtful of them.
Women are strong enough, she can slide 1 boyfriend by another....
"A fraction of a second" That dude is breaking the laws of physics.
Time
When i was a child, I thought some small rods will get inserted in to the holes of the rotating disc, there by stopping the bike
ME TOO 😁😁😁
❤❤
I thought the same... Before watching this video. 😂
I am 23 , but few days ago I was wondering the same.. but then thought no this is not efficient mechanism ;)
Yeah many of the kids including me used to think so....
Dude I wish my bike stopped like that when there are logs in the road...
For that thing to happen.. you must understand and feel your bike 100% of its power weight cornering force.... braking power...
That's why you got the eyes
@Karthik of equal and opposite reaction, bike stops u fly😂😂😂
oh boy i wish you learned about inertia before saying that..
the logs are the brakes.
I ride a scootie with drum brakes. No clutch system, both are brakes. When riding I keep the rear brake slightly pressed, heating it up. When i hit both brakes during emergency, the front brake is more efficient and this causes a spin or drift and has caused me lots of injuries until I understood the workings of brakes and net torque. Thank you for educating us, saving lives.
Yeah I always ride on the double yellow line . More friction on the paint, especially when wet. Ha Ha.
@@samalizadev if you're going to make a video, an audio recording, or even a comment on KZhead. You must also take criticism of it, that's the way the world works dumbass.
#r/woooosh.
The double line is a dedicated lane for motorcycles.
Bahahaha
@@MrDejast what kind of dumbf**k criticism is that.
I use my old shoes. They work pretty well for.slowong me down within 3 miles of my intended stopping point.
😁😂
LOL XD
slowing*
@@farhansyihab No, slowong. It's the verb when shoes are used for deceleration.
@@EvilTwin123 lmao, never heard of that
I am grateful for the Disc brakes in my bike because they have saved me numerous times from emergency situation!
you need to drive more carefully, my friend
Yup, really feel the difference on my new bike, going from 2 drums to 3 disks total. Its snappier, stronger, and more controllable. (Well, i should hope so, with two brembo m50's at the front).
How do you have emergency situations on a 125?
@@Supernova12034 A 125 can reach the maximum allowed speed like a 1000 can lol.
Excellent explanation & graphics 👌🏻👍🏻👌🏻
Yes
My dad once got into a terrible accident as a truck driver because his truck would always jerk to the side when he hit the brakes. This one time, someone cut in front of him, so he really slammed on the brakes. The entire truck flipped over and landed on it's side. He could've died. Luckily, he only had a few cuts and scrapes, and nobody else was injured. I never understood what he meant when he said there was something wrong with the brakes but now I do! So thanks for sharing this lol.
@@radiozvrk6784 Stop it!
Your vehicle stops "within a fraction of a second"? Hardly. Good video, though!
having brakes capable of stopping you within a fraction of a second would be just as bad as crashing into a car without slowing down...
Yeah, 7/2 seconds is a fraction too.
@@pakan357 But it is not a fraction of A second. It is 3 seconds and a half a fraction of a second.
It would be equally bad if it did :-D
your tires will stop spinning sure but you and your bike will not stop!
The animation in the video makes it easy to understand the points. Great effort. Much appreciated.
You explain everything in detail leaving no questions
You guys are doing such a great job, I love all the animations and that helps to understand it easily, love you guys, keep making more videos. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Sir, you explain this kind of braking system easiest way, you clear my concept. Thank you so much 😊
Thank guys for this great work and effort, even the donkey will learn and understand from this animation/explanation.
Thank you, now i know what to pay attention to so that my front disc doesnt stuck after braking. Sometimes it doesnt go back completely because of the mounting pin of the caliper support had accumulated a lot of dirt. I had started to diy a lot of servicing myself on things other than dismantling the engine. Much appreciated.
Excellent video regarding the disc brake system. It increased my knowledge of automotive Engineering
Anyone can easily understand by seeing this video.I really love the way explanation is given, it's not at not all boring👍😀
Good explanation with nice animations
Thank you for sharing this technical video with us. Brake is one of the most important part of any automobile. Braking system technology is now upgraded as well as remodified. Disc brake is a most efficient braking system among them.
why do people even dislike your videos, such an excellent animation with great explanation, plus you guys deserve more subs
That's because he used Harley Davidson motorcycle as example which is garbage now.
This is the reason why KZhead disabled the dislike button recently because videos with more like gets more views In this way by hiding the dislike button people have started to watch more videos without looking to judge by its like/dislike ratio
@Shread that's not a very good reason to hide the dislikes. We all already knew that there will be some dislikes on every video, so we simply ignore it. The more important thing in a video than dislikes is the like - dislike ratio. That's why hiding dilikes is a bad idea, always.
It's not the video they dislike, it's Pascal's Law, which is clearly a real-world bug.
@ you make no sense
I learnt how to assemble & dissamble disk brakes of my motorcycle including master cylinder assembly and brake pistons..trying to.understand its mechanism. A wonderful technology. Now i love my vehicles more.
Muuuuuuuuuuch better. I can actually see what’s happening now. Good job!
Superb video and animation. Kudos on the great explanation as well.
Very nice sir keep rocking and provide each and every topic with this animations Well done sir
Great video sir .Keep making such videos for enhancing our knowledge....I am your great fan sir ..thank you so much
Sir your explanation is so simple and the quality of animation is so great
Thank you. Very well explained with graphics.
Great job, you speak clearly and smooth :)
Invention of disk brakes is a miraculous technology & it's use on high performance vehicles made our life so easy, fast & efficient.
Came to know great insight more than described in any text book. Thanks
That's very well explained! Thank you!
Subscribed from the first video i watched, amazing channel
Nice, physics law used in our day to day life, you became to refresh our intermediate schooling, vow, thanks , I am also using the disc brakes in my bikes and MUV.
The perfect channel to get knowledge of engineering for us who are non techis... Thank you very much dear author.... Keep it up .. very good job

Very nice explanation, thanks!
I love this channel so much !!!!
Excellent explanation and animation 👏👏
Fantastic explanation 👍 I love the video.
Loved the explanation.
The best way to get to know a motorcycle or how its parts work is by riding it. I would recommend riding a dirt bike (off-road motorcycle) for many years before ever switching over to street only motorcycle. Many riders no longer with us who's first bike was a street only bike.
Awesome as always .
Excellent bro simple to understand thank you very much
Thanking you. You explanations are excellent.

Chances are if you spoke about it to someone, your phone listens and suggests videos and ads based on that
I didn't speak of it to anyone
