After registering a KZhead channel to the platform in 2014 under the 5 letter name "Dream", this Minecraft Speedrunner would experience one of the most insane rises to prominence in KZhead history. But with great Minecraft power would come great Minecraft responsibility, and the burden of becoming one of the biggest Minecraft Speedrunners in history would come with it's own set of challenges for Dream.
This is, The Entire History of Dream - A Minecraft Speedrunning Documentary.

  • To be honest, Dream during the Unsolved Mysteries/Early Manhunts were some of most entertaining content around. He was an amazing KZheadr. He wasn’t under too much pressure, he was honest. But now, he’s under tons of pressure. Has to always be careful of what he’s saying. Having millions of children obsessed with him on the palm of his hands. And the dishonesty he’s had with the Speedrunning allegations. Hopefully the pressure doesn’t get to him. He’s not really affected right now, but eventually, time will catch up to him. And he’ll want to go back towards a time where he had no pressure. Only time will tell…..

  • Two things that make up Dream's detriment during his rise: Cheating Scandal and the toxic Stans. If you push the Cheating Scandal to one side, you can see how popular and respected he is with his Manhunt videos, but put that Scandal back in, and some people will hate him for cheating, maybe even send threatening messages... You can say that Dream would have not made such controversial drama about how he cheated, he could have just made the speedruns without anything involved. And we've pretty much moved from that... The only problem that he has to deal is the toxic Stans, that's one thing he and other popular KZheadrs can have, but they praise Dream as like a God, and ready to defend him even during his cheating scandal, and to send death threats to anyone who hates him... In any way, I would believe that he couldn't control his fanbase, not that he told them but he just couldn't maintain the fanbase to be more rational and clean... And now they also kinda go on and try to stalk on him. The detriment that has been made up ever since is why Dream hasn't been able to (or can't) do a face reveal ...

    • its not that anyone demand him to control his fanbase, but he is actively ignoring and sometimes even encourages the stans to do what they do. He enjoys the attention and even play along their idea version of him for them. He brought the problem to himself, then plays the victim card, same for the cheating.

    • Been playing since 2009. I’ve seen everything involving Minecraft and I must say it was interesting lol. I used to binge ihascupcake, Yogscast, Ssundee, captain sparklez, TB and basically all the main players on Minecraft of KZhead in the old days. I played with my siblings and a small group of friends. Now days I’m the only one left lol. I’ve seen servers like mineplex in it’s prime have an absurd player count to its minuscule 1000 or less player count it has today. I scoffed at the notion that people would ever make money off of Minecraft, but seeing some people making some Serious coin from Minecraft these days, I stand corrected. Hell, I couldn’t even fathom that diamonds would take the backseat of best ore in the game lol. Minecraft is game like Doom. Not everyone has heard about it, and not all has played it before. But it’s a game that was revolutionary that will be forever immortalized as one of the most successful games in history.

For quite some time afterward, Dream would upload interesting and unique content that felt entirely authentic and down to earth. Sadly, his newer videos feel fake, or scripted. This feeling isn’t helped by the fact that he literally cheated a speedrun. • I have been subbed to Dream since the Manhunt series started. I truly enjoy his content but try to not tune in to any of the crazy twitter/stan/doxx drama. Dream has revealed himself in the "behind the scenes/explanation" videos for the Manhunts that there are unspoken rules that has to be followed by the whole Manhunt team. A couple of examples: 1) You aren't generally allowed to pull the same trick/trap twice 2) Far from all recording attempts of Manhunts ever make it to KZhead as part of the series (e.g. if he dies within 5 minutes), leading to the next point... 3) There is "fake" first reaction audio to some of the stunts Dream pulls = he splices in the original audio reaction from the hunters in an unpublished recording attempt when he does something for the first time to include their genuine reaction 4) Masterful editing is involved to really involve the viewer and make the whole Manhunt really intense. I don't mind all this "trickery/manipulation" for views. He does it well.

Just videos of friends trying to kill each other with hilarious moments and even some dramatic elements. Dream did some serious epic clutches with water buckets, jumping off cliffs, High IQ plays and traps for the hunters, and even outsmarting them in the most simple of ways. It is much less serious than a cheating world record. Truth be told, whether he cheated or not, def goes to show how much of a genius he really is.

During the covid lockdowns I was feeling super depressed and I didn't really have any friends so the Dream SMP was really the only thing keeping me sane. I loved the story (the beginning of the SMP had a way better plot but now it's completely incomprehensible,) and the other creators. I loved his manhunts and even if they are faked, I think are still super interesting. Of course his cheating made me upset but I like him for his in-game personality and relationships with other creators so I was willing to let things slide. I still have his merch and at the time was a HUGE fan, but with his large fanbase and the absolute wackos on twitter I stopped watching or being interested at all. It's actually sad how many people are deterred because of the toxic fanbase. I think I would be still super into Dream if it weren't for the stans blowing everything out of proportion and getting triggered at every little thing. Great video! Thank you!

Dream could have copied as Wilbur's video came out 4 or 5 months before Dream's video did.
