kdenlive test...the 'video' is apparently only available in 144p. the audio at least sounds pretty good...to me...

  • this is the vibe of "small town living" which means there is nothing to do except ride around in people's cars, sit in parking lots, lay in your bed, and look at fields of corn. it is the emo midwest//small town northeast feel.

    • Small town, you have no friends, no car and no money so you sit and rot in your bed room and daydream about a future that never happens. You're 25 now, the world passed you by when you weren't even paying attention, you haven't even kissed a girl yet.

    @tannerin@tannerin6 жыл бұрын
    • It took that long for the Internet to pick up enough steam and spread it around. 20 years ago there really wasn't a way to mass stream music or video like this. Now even the most underground music from 40+ years ago is a few clicks away and easy to link to. KZhead sucks for a lot of reasons, but it's awesome for this purpose.

  • 1. Moon Age (Instrumental) 2. Heading for the Door Clear a path into the room And pushing everything off of the table Crashing on the floor People start to scream Glasses in the air And the television through the window Stumbling through the crowd I was heading for the door Remembering a cooler party Angels started in song There was something in their eyes The time was standing still 3. Gold Dust (Instrumental) 4. Tropical Solution The hands have been well-used To turn it on or turn it up Maybe someone can turn it off When it gets too late And the heat is tauntious The air is on fire And the hands have become clawsious So rock out Rock out Rock out Rock out And all the kids fell out and wrote a story They should sell it to the magazines They all turn out to be crazy In the middle of the night The dogs will bark And the wheels of the wagon Turn off and turn out In your hair I can see the topical solution And no one can shut up for a minute 5. Docking the Pod (Instrumental) 6. The Landing Drunk with hope for the better things The gears all froze for the millennium The same moon as the wrong kiss South, down, east, left, out 7. Echo, Bravo It's a lot like before That was the way it had to be It's alright without you We can make it on our own 8. Constellations Reoccurring Constellations Put it to rest Terror again Horror in town No sleep 'til then Turn down the lights Don't fuck around No ins-and-outs 9. The Queen of Hearts (Instrumental) 10. Two Way Radio (Instrumental) 11. Inside Out Will I be able to speak After a stiff drink? Would it break my panic? Would the sweat stop pouring out? Slow and deliberate With her words She'll walk through My heart Those eyes light a fire In the stomach Fall apart From the inside out 12. Stratosphere (Instrumental) 13. Reed to Hillsborough Light it up, breathe it in You know they say we'll live again Needle down, candles on My favorite cup and a hi-fi stereo Everything's not so bad It's the way home should be The way the windows frame the trees And smoke fills the room Colder now than last year You know they say we'll all be dead Needle down, needle in 14. Shadow of Planets Shadows of planes, flying overhead Overhead projection Nightcrawlers in the sky 15. Earth Moon Transit It's dark around me now And cigarettes are fine I wonder if you think About me like I do Of you at night And who will write the hits With Bowie back on Earth? It's in the way It's in the way 16. The Twins/Romantica From the evening sky A thousand shining diamonds hanging Like the sparkle in the glasses on New Year's Eve Sparkling Romantica What has happened to us? What will happen to the vampire cult? Better off at home tonight Wouldn't be good company Blonde grass Strand by strand Calling out your name and gently to the twins The twins call out to the freaks All the allure So spellbound 17. Sideria (Instrumental)

  • This album perfectly encapsulates the feeling of being an astronaught alone on a ship. That sense of getting away from the oddities of everyday life and going someplace distant and other worldy. With the rising feeling of leaving the earth and that uncanny solitude that causes both comfort and slight unease. It contiuously rises and falls going through these emotions of depression and manic energy leading to an acceptance and eventual return to earth. Stratosphere is a perfect title because its one of the first steps to leaving our home and also a sign that you're in the closing stretch and will soon be back where you started. Godspeed Duster. I don't know if they intended this but fuck, I can feel it. I'm reliving those memories while I blast away from this rock, to eventually remember the people I need and then return in a crash landing.

  • I forgot how I found duster, but the one feeling I’ve been getting since I’ve started listening to them (and this might be pretty specific), is Usually this comforting calming feeing that mostly occurs when I’m flying to or from my dads house for a few hours because my parents are divorced. I feel very calm within those 7 hours because nothing is bothering me most of the time. I’m usually so stressed when I’m on the ground, but when I’m in the air, besides the occasional bumps from the turbulence, I feel actually free and not stressed or anxious. I don’t know how but Duster has somehow makes me feel that same feeling I get when I’m flying on a plane, and I always feel calm playing their music (specially this album), like there’s nothing to be worried about. I could have this burning aching feeling in my stomach and eyes, but when I listen to Duster it just goes away.

  • It’s amazing hearing this album, and then realizing how some of my other favorite bands were influenced by this. I listen to Explosions in the Sky and their first album has major influences from this album. Yes they’re different genres of music, but it’s amazing to see how Duster inspired so many bands across different genres based off of this album alone.

  • Every time I listen to this album it reminds me of how much my parents used to love me for who I was n they used to love me like I was no other. I used to go to sleep happy n wake up happy. Feeling the pain I feel now hurts to see how alone I am, at 14 I’m so alone it hurts to see my own reflection in any mirror type object or liquid I can’t bare to think how much I hurt from trying,over and over again it’s like my heart is shutting down on me. And after time you start to accept it because truly no one would care until ur deep down under the water and u come back up floating after so long bc they would now see your hurt. Because of them and their actions that they never realized since now. Now they see all the cuts, and bruises,broken bones, the pool of ur own tears where u rouse up from because the tears have their name all over it. This album is fr my live

  • You put your foot down on the accelerator as the slight downward angle of the car levels out, then gets angled the other direction. The speed limit says 35 (MPH) and you're hell bent on keeping it there. 3 AM just rolled around on the clock, and you're heading back home through the main roads of each town between points A and B. The highway is too stressful and is relatively out of the way, so the closest beeline is the route you always take. The needle wobbles up slightly above the 35 and you loosen your foot. You're determined to keep it at exactly 35. A yellow light shines by through your windshield, with a red aura lighting the road in your rearview mirror as you glance back at the distant set of headlights near the empty parking lot you just cruised by. A more residential area comes up, fences starting on the right side of the road before the left. The north side of the road before the south. Speed limit 25. My ass, you think, letting off the throttle almost entirely. You have no intentions of going 25, but plausible innocence if any bored cop happens to be nearby is your best bet. The residential area fades out into a more highway area, back to a legal thirty five. Your fuel of a wine Black&Mild and two Monster energy drinks is mostly worn off, a hollow tiredness fills up all but your eyes. Shit drugs. Legal drugs. Fuck caffeine, you think, as your right hand pries open a Pepsi you've had sitting in your cupholder. A green light greets you at two intersections as you sip intermittently. Then suddenly ahead, yellow, and red. You put your foot on the brake hoping to slow down enough beforehand that you don't need to fully stop. You do. The light stays red for some obscene amount of time, maybe fifteen seconds or more. Your seething rage from every betrayal you've experienced in your life is now directed at this unthinking, unblinking piece of glass, metal, and fuck knows what else. How dare it cross your path, to ruin your streak of good luck and a near perfect 35 MPH average and just put a sour twist on the rest of your early morning. Nobody even comes from the adjacent road, with the red light glaring at you like your nasty first grade teacher's chin mole. Fuck you, Julie S. The light turns green, a pittance to the burning hole in your chest. Foot down. That song about cigarettes replaces the minimal type lo fi song that's practically burned holes in your car speakers. Black and Mild. Black and Mild. Your brain is now just as condescending as the red light you've passed. A pothole jostles the Pepsi grazing your bottom lip, sending some dripping down your face. "Everything is not so bad" you sing along with the song, in a mocking tone. You know everything really is okay. In some way. Yeah, you're so self critical that you can't throw something out without thinking about how much environmental damage you're singlehandedly caused, but you know that's not important. If everybody dies that's okay. Everybody will die anyway. The world will come to an end and all life on it will end, and the universe will cease to exist. And that will be just fine. I've known this for billions of years, and you've known that I know for as long as I have known, but recently; very, very, very ,very recently you've grown critical. Others have. You've been around for a little over twenty years. But all the you's out there grow critical. I made you that way. Your nihilistic tendencies cause you to crush the Pepsi can in your weak palm and send it out the window, only for you to regret it mid throw. You wince. Foot off the pedal. Your car pulls in the driveway, and that song about Bowie ends.
