Elton John has been a lifelong fan of Watford FC. He became director and chairman in 1976 and within eight years, the club was in the FA Cup Final. He sold the club in the late 80s to concentrate on his then-failing personal life. He rebought it in 1997, stepped down again in 2002, but is still a stakeholder.

I am a 51 year old Albion fan too and although I love the Hawthornes I still say it's too small. The Halfords lane stand is tiny and it should have another tier added. Yes I understand that due to the main road we are limited to space. However it's not impossible for it to be extended especially with modern engineering. Another option would be to extend both corners that are either side to the Main stand. Preferably I'd love to see both of my ideas come to be a reality. But I have to say that I wouldn't ever want to leave the Hawthornes for a new ground.

TBH having watched matches at the DW I can say its quite poor for a "modern" stadium. The concourses are way to sterile and cramped. the bars are to small and understaffed. The bowl feels very much a just do it thing. For both football and rugby it feels very lacking in atmosphere. The away end is one of the largest in the league at a full capacity of 5,400. You can really see where the newest stand at Deepdale PNE was ment to be bigger than it ended up being with the roof trusses and the side stantions. Could easy have been a 25-28k Stadium all in.

7:30 Wasn't this club that their owners wanted to do a full rebrand? They wanted to change the team colour from blue to red, and the animal on the crest from a bird to a dragon. The fans hated it and they brought it back as it was.
@SerjBassist Жыл бұрын
That’s right, the Malaysian owner saw red as good luck as well as the dragon hence the “reason” for the change so for 2 and a half seasons they was playing in red under the rebrand. Cardiff fans protested ever since when eventually the owner sat down with the supporters club and others which resulted in Cardiff going back to blue and the following season had the club badge changed. First game home game back after the decision was made to go back to blue was a win against Fulham

@@davidspear9790 you have no idea Dave haha. the old bobbers stand had it's seats ripped out in 1986 and it looks f**king awful. they wanted money instead of more support. we've been seeking a new ground since 1955 ffs
@@mowvu5380 Didn't Millwall fans do half of the work in 1985?!!
@@davidspear9790 they fookin did aye😂nobheads. other club's firms showed up as well haha. think luton chairman actually banned away fans for a bit
Wasps Rugby went bust, and the stadium was sold, but not to Coventry City. The demise of the rugby club also saw the demise of the netball team.
I stopped after the Kenny 😔 Youre right tho, the others are better 😭
Have u ever done USL stadiums?
Why?
Surely the narrator's first trip into Wales was into Swansea? I like the stadiums tucked into victorian streets, rather than the out of town places, but the Sunderland stadium is obviously the best.
Came for the stadiums. Stayed for the dad jokes.
The John Smith's is called as such because it's sponsored by an brewery called John Smith's.
Very cool up the tigers
TBH having watched matches at the DW I can say its quite poor for a "modern" stadium. The concourses are way to sterile and cramped. the bars are to small and understaffed. The bowl feels very much a just do it thing. For both football and rugby it feels very lacking in atmosphere. The away end is one of the largest in the league at a full capacity of 5,400. You can really see where the newest stand at Deepdale PNE was ment to be bigger than it ended up being with the roof trusses and the side stantions. Could easy have been a 25-28k Stadium all in.
the CBS Arena is no longer owned by waps rfc, its now owned by former newcastle owner mike ashley's fraser group
When I clicked on the video I knew we would be last
Come on mighty hatters!!!!!!
Definitely a secret mag you! How can you put the stadium of light 7th? It’s by far the best stadium in the league 😂
It's the biggest yeah but aesthetically it's boring to look at.
@@TFSporkoo I disagree
The cbs ain’t owned by a rugby club anymore. It was sold in around November and bought by Mike Ashley former Newcastle owner
The Hawthorns a worthy number 1 COYB 🙌
7:30 Wasn't this club that their owners wanted to do a full rebrand? They wanted to change the team colour from blue to red, and the animal on the crest from a bird to a dragon. The fans hated it and they brought it back as it was.
The Hawthorns also has a Greggs Bakery in the car park.
It was better when it was the Hawthorns pub , many an enjoyable afternoon spent in there till the game started .
Swansea.... you guys should look up Cyril the Swan. One of the craziest batshit things that have happened in footy
Been to nearly half these grounds and I'd definitely have Bramall Lane in the top 3, possibly even number 1. Also think you've been VERY generous to St Andrew's
Horrible away end, bottom tier view is terrible, stadium is mid matched
We also need more of African stadiums, if there are any😂
Equatorial Guinea has half of the decent ones :)
Stay of the weed Dalmas, Morocco is in a bid for 2030, South Africa held it in 2010
I love Stoke’s stadium
I wish they'd join up the main stand with the rest of it, it doesn't look right having three stands all joined and then the one main stand just on its own.
At least we're top of something this year. Lai out!
We may still get in to the top 6 finish. Boing boing. 👍🏼🏴🇬🇧🏴☝️
Joke about north korea and belorus was of topic
Loftus Road should be much further down. If you like 2 inches of leg room in the away end you might disagree
Yeah @smiv has a video review of Loftus Road and it makes Fenway Park here in the states look positively spacious.
Despite the negatives I loved my trip to Loftus Road. Though we lost 3-0.
Reading's stadium should be lower speaking from experience. The seating is unecessarily steep towards the top.
Has West Glamorgan fallen off and floated away?
New York Stadium.... should rank it AFTER the pitch gets flooded and away fans miss out on a crucial 1=0 lead as a result
Wigan is known for its kebabs 🤣🤣🤣 nooo Wigan is known for its pies 🥧 and a Wigan kebab is a pie in a bap 😃 😃
Commenting on a video twice
SoL at 7th, you must be having a laugh!
And now Luton Town are 1 game from the premier league. Will the worst stadium (no doubt about that, although it does have that old-time football atmosphere) in the EFL Championship house a Premier League club? Tune in next week.
When you said Cardiff City stadium. You made a mistake. You said this was the first entry from Wales. Swansea City are also Welsh
I feel offended by my clubs rank I’m a stoke fan and I think our stadium should be ranked higher
Do this with liege one
CBS in Coventry might be the nicest thing in (more outside the city, like 20 miles outside) the city. Such a glum, depressing and underfunded city with rife poverty. Genuinely one of the worst places I've ever been to. I was born near Loftus Road!
Elton John's real name is Reginald Kenneth Dwight
Why did he change his name for music?
@odrstorodeos I don't know, but Reg Dwight isn't the best option.
Can u do league 1
Yeah
The John Smith’s Stadium gets its name from a brand of beer. Strip away the sponsor and it would be called the Kirklees Stadium. For that one reason alone, the naming rights should be given away for free if required.
Still can't help calling it the galpharm tbh
McAlpine stadium is what I still call it. Infact the main Huddersfield fans forum is still called Down at the Mac
Should have been named the WARDROBE originally, It's a collection of............
coat hangers 👍😂
Why are the photos of Backpool's stadium copyrighted to Swansea, and those of Swansea's stadium copyrighted to Blackpool? Does each club own the stock photos of the others ground? Let the truth be known......
i think someone screwed up
You know Swansea is in Wales too right?
I guess he recorded it before knowing the order he'd put them in
It was a joke!
What no mention of the Hawthorns being the highest ground above sea level 😂
Wasps do not own the ground at coventry anymore
wigan kebab is a meat pie on a buttered bread barm its isnt a doner kebab haha
And now Blackpool and Wigan can feature in the league 1 stadiums list. 😂😂😂😂 PNE PNE PNE PNE PNE PNE
As a Huddersfield fan I'll be looking forward to see how high you'll be rating our stadium in league 1 next season 🫤 It's a shame you didn't use the more up to date pictures where the red seating is replaced by white with the blue astro turf edging around the pitch.

Is this league Scotland and Wales 🏴?
English Championship but there are two teams from Wales who play in it. There are two other teams that play in English leagues from Wales. Wrexham and Newport GLC.
@@neilwhitaker6284 Merthyr too
@@tomosprice8136 thumbs up I had to look them up. They are Southern League Premier Division South for anybody else interested :)
Have you actually been to many of these? Clearly not The Den. Also - didn’t fancy using every stadiums actual name?
Luton stadium shouldn`t be ranked last. It has charm and his own identity. Some stadiums look boring, like the one in Middlesbrough. A modern cookie cutter stadium like many other....
No way is this real surely the CBS down that far and WBA top, come on man 😂
apart from huddersfield being second (huge W) your off your rocker icl
Wrong choice for no1 m8 The John smiths stadium is an architectural work of art...built in 1994 and still looks ultra modern Also home to the first team in English football to win a triple championship
Cardiff was not the 1st one in the video from wales, Swansea is in Wales
That was a joke, its also not across the channel
@@paulnicholasadams it is across the channel, the Bristol Channel
once luton town gets promoted to the PL It’ll be the worse stadium in PL 💀
Elton real name is Reginald Dwight
Sunderland stadium is best in championship Been few times and always a top day out
