To the people commenting on UCLAs page y’all do realize this is real life? It’s not like fast food places or other places you go and spend money on. Y’all are doing more harm than good. I understand you want to help but this is between her and the colleges. She allowed y’all to view her life but not to get in her business. Especially if she didn’t ask you in the first place or if she’s telling you to stop. Get the hint and stop. You can’t complain your way to college or into a job. Yeah I didn’t even know who this person was but in all of UCLA’s video I see people saying she deserved to get in. I thought it was something super controversial, not someone who just simply didn’t get accepted (which happens to 91% of applicants).
I was a student at UCLA, and graduated with two degrees. I was there for 8 years. Facts: 1.) For every 100 applicants, only 9 are admitted. 2.) UCLA is extremely selective. There are three factors that UCLA ranks as being “very important” to their admissions process: rigor of secondary school record, GPA, and application essays. Factors rated as “important” are: talent/ability, character/personal qualities, extracurricular activities, volunteer experience, and work experience. 3.) Meeting UCLA's GPA requirements and SAT/ACT requirements is very important to getting past their first round of filters and proving your academic preparation.

Ucla is a very hard school to get into, it’s acceptance rate is literally a single digit. Just because Nicole is a popular youtuber, and her viewers, including myself, can see how hard she worked to try and guarantee a spot, that doesn’t automatically mean that she should’ve gotten it. Thousands of applicants apply with the same stats as Nicole, some higher and some lower, so just because we can see that she’s studied hard for good grades, and she’s participated in many events that the school has hosted, who are we to assume that all of the other applicants haven’t done the exact same? God has a plan for Nicole, and that’s why she was accepted by sdsu and decided to go there instead. Do you think leaving hate comments on ucla’s Instagram and other social networks will benefit Nicole or you?

It also depends on the major too. I graduated from a small hs in the Central Valley (graduating class of about 100 students) & 3 got into UCLA (2 for nursing). It honestly a limbo even if your gpa & extracurricular activities are stacked. The odd way to get in if you really want a specific school is to apply for a major that peaks your interest but isn’t as popular & then change it once you get in your 1st year

The heartbreak in her parents eyes 😢 it must be so hard being a parent and watching your baby cry and knowing there is nothing you can do to change or help it. I came here from hearing about how incredible this family handled her college acceptance letters and it did not disappoint. You guys are a beautiful family and she is going to be so incredibly successful because she has an incredible support system.

hey nicole, i'm a c/o '20 spartan and i just wanted to commend you for your transparency in sharing with your followers the honest pain of rejection. i think many people may compare themselves to you and see your life through rose colored lens. you're immensely hard working in everything you do and it shows - from extra-curriculars, youtube, and school. you have been building a killer resume from such a young age and you do it all with such a positive attitude. seeing someone so amazing and overqualified as you get rejected from top schools lets a lot of your supporters take a breath and say, 'ok i'm not the only one. it's not that i'm stupid or not good enough. if someone like nicole got rejected that means its not necessarily my fault.' college admissions are freaking horrendous and all you can do is try your best and move on. your example of balance, of friends, family, a relationship with God, and trying your genuine best w/o losing yourself is one that more young people need to see. its not one i saw when i went to south. people were so tunnel visioned in getting that into that prestigious school that people forgot to live and be kind and genuine people. your genuineness and killer work ethic will take you a long way, wherever you go. you can always apply to transfer to ucla if that's your dream, but honestly, you don't want to be around a bunch of stuck up elites anyway. they truly do not deserve you. continue loving God and loving people. He works all things for your good. i'm so immensely proud of your maturity at such a young age and am grateful that the next generation has at least one level-headed person to look up to you. all of your videos are such great quality and so genuine. its not just about clicks you actually care about being like a sister to your viewers and making the most of your life and it shows. you have nothing to be ashamed of and everything to be proud of. you are beautiful + amazing! if you read to the end of this message, im sending you a big hug and lots of love. stay grounded, humble, and loving + keep looking up
rejection is actually so hard and it hurts so bad. I am such a believer in that rejection is redirection. You put everything into your application and even though you did not get in its completely okay. Youre going to end up exactly where you are supposed to and go through everything that you need to in order to be successful. I'm from Canada and I have many friends who didnt get into a lot of programs they hoped to and they now realize why they got rejected in terms of it being redirection. A lot of my friends who got rejected from programs they thought were perfect allowed for them to go through completely different experiences and see what they love and what they want to pursue. A perspective they would have never had if they went to the program that they wanted so much :))

i’m currently a sophomore in college and i experienced the same heartbreak as colie did when she got rejected to her dream school, cuz i also got rejected. even when i watched her cry because of the rejection letter, i can’t help but cry as well because i remember the feeling of getting rejected into something that you’ve already planned your future in. it just changes the trajectory of our lives. but now i’m really happy in the uni that i’m in, and i can really say that it all works out towards the end. SDSU is for you colie and i know you’ll have tons of fun in college. rooting for you!
It’s not dramatic to feel that way, anytime you have to put a dream to bed or if it drastically changes and you feel like you’ve done everything you can it absolutely feels like a loss. However, it won’t be long until the new picture comes into focus and I’m wishing great things for you!

Acting like someone died. Stop being married to a particular school in the first place, especially when the chances of you getting in are extremely slim to begin with. If you were to put your entire future on something with like a 8% chance of failing, everyone would call you naive. But with colleges people seem to forget this and inject their whole identity into a school that probably won’t even accept them.
I'm sorry that your dream school rejected you. I remember the pain of rejection, so you're not alone. However, I'm glad the 5 other schools that accepted you are eternally grateful to have you. Keep the faith high Colie.

I never cry but after seeing you open your UCLA letter I started crying so much and after hearing your speech at the end of the video I cried again I feel so much sympathy for you and support. Your amount of positivity about the situation but also voicing the disappointment of the situation felt so genuine and relatable and true you always remind me to focus on the positive side but to also always feel the difficult emotions❤❤

Well UCLA has a 8.6% acceptance rate so it’s hard to get into, we also don’t know her scores/grades other influencers and celebs apply too it’s unfair
well it doesn’t matter if you are an influencer or not, they look deeply at your application from grades, essay, extracurriculars, leadership, etc. UCLA is a highly hardest, most competitive & academics school ever
i totally understand and get that but it's a really competetive college to get into, plus the acceptance rate is 9%. not only that but so many students apply literally every day.
girl, UCLA does not want free advertisement, they're one of the top schools who want actual academically talented ( or other fields like sports) students, accepting an influencer with average grades over a kid who worked their ass of to get good grades and do extra curriculars is just unfair

as a fellow senior, who had such a hard time during the college apps process, i’m here to say that everything truly is in God’s plan for us. from the nights i spent crying, or stressing out about application deadlines, to anxiously awaiting the decisions and getting them back, i could finally say that all the hardships, the tears, and the anxiety that i felt during this period was one of the most difficult things that i’ve went through so far in life. but, i have to say, that i have grown so much during this period, and truly, you really do not know the emotions and hard work that goes into this whole process until you’ve gone through it yourself. congrats on your acceptances, i can’t wait to see what’s in store 🫶🏻 sending love from a fellow c/o 2024!

I just graduated from SDSU a year ago and I can honestly and wholeheartedly say that it was four of the best years of my life! The school is beautiful, the community is welcoming and each and every one of the staff members and educators there has the best in mind for your future. girl when u described the feeling of college rejection from ur dream school as heartbreak, i couldn't agree more! i was rejected from my dream school two years ago and i was down for such a long time, but now i see why that needed to happen because i know i'm where i'm supposed to be. you are not defined by college admissions, they're brutal, but you are so strong and beautiful and intelligent in so many ways. a college application can't see all that, but the ones who truly know you do. i'm so proud of you!!

Hey Nicole !! I have gone through the same rejection with multiple rejections to physician assistant school . I just got accepted into a nurse practitioner program and currently a top school. I surrendered it to God and let me tell you I cried ! I start my program in May but it all seems to be making a lot of sense day by day . Stay strong !
