No magnetic lock on the flip cover is my only issue. A very classy piece of kit and worth the money for the level of protection it provides and, you get the $40 S-pen included. You mentioned it was light, I'm assuming the solid backplate is silicone coated carbon along with the camera module surrounds. A faster, more portable, more capable desktop in one hand. Thank you Samsung .. not a devotee, just a very satified customer.
You won't be able to use the pen if the case has a magnet. I purchased an Otterbox flip case, and can't use the pen because of the magnet. I have to take the phone out of the case to use the pen.
@@jamesbyers2949 there's obviously an industrial solution, software or hardware, to securing the flip cover on both case types ... just going to have to exercise a little caution for the next 2.5 years, till my next device.
I really love this phantom silver color.
Right or left handed you're expected to fold the cover flap all the way back.
the notification and message didn't show the whole because of privacy concerns, you have to unlocked first to see the notifications. just like iphones you can't see the notifications detail until the face id detect your face
I used my s pen to smash that like button. Thank you sir.
🤙🏽
The fact it will display media player controls when closed is also awesome.
Have this cover and pen and gotta say it’s quite cool! Definitely recommend if you can find one
How's the wireless charging on it are you still able to wirelessly charge your device on it and if you ever go on car rides and put it on a mount what do you use
@@Jman212100 yes there's absolutely no problem in wireless charging
@slicky villy u are garbage xD it's an awesome cover that does what it's supposed to do! I've been using it for 3 months now and I've had absolutely no Problems with it its stays closed even when I have dropped the phone it Holds the spen nice and tight and it's an excellent stand for watching movies etc :-D I really can't see the problem
@@MagneticName I ordered it recently, not here yet but I was wondering is it easy to hold the phone with the flip case hanging on the side like that? And how about when taking pictures, is it hard to hold it?
I acctually love this case and I recommend it.
Thanks for the detailed review. I think the cover is nice, but I'm worried how bulky it will be. Whether those car phone holder could grasp it tightly or I will need to switch to magnet at the back which will get in the way of the qi charging.
I love your reviews. Love from India 🇮🇳
👋🏽🤙🏽
Hi I know this is an old video but can it be used as a kickstand ? to sit it up and watch videos
Doesn't the window on this case mess with the camera if folded back all the way?
Ordered mine through Samsung and it finally shipped yesterday.
Congrats! Best Buy had them in stock too!

@@AsianGeekSquad love you!
My sideview AOD looks different, how do i get it to look like this one? Or does it sync with the cover somehow?
I just got my S21 Ultra and i think i'll wait for the S Pen Pro and compatible cases
Did they say anything about releasing those or are you just assuming they will cause idk
@@masstrack4143 It's just a matter of time Samsung (at the S Pen Pro's launch) and third parties will sell a new case compatible with the new S Pen Pro.
I use both left and right hand although my right hand is more dominant. It is actually easier for left handers than right handers. For right hand use, I prefer the s pen on the right. For the left hand dominant, I prefer the pen on the left. Being slightly more right hand dominant, having the s pen on the left is cumbersome.
Yup! A little too much hassle for me and I've been using Spigen case ever since I reviewed it.
yea but that means the flap will open to the right...and thats even more awkward...in my opinion. ..i think they had no choice but to put in the left . or they should placed all buttons on the left, the s pen holder will be on the right and the flap opens to the left. that woulda been better
Are this case usual if is use panzer/gorila glases
Is there a way to buy this with the s pen slot but without having to buy the s pen as well?
Wonder how it knows to turn on the side clock etc when the case is over the phone.
Well I got it for free, so no complaints. I do like the position of the S Pen myself actually
Good review. Thank you brother
How do you charge the spen of the s21 ultra
i'm a lefty, doesn't effect me. I usually grab my phone with my right hand anyways.
same here
Ya know ivreally wanted the phantom black color but it was unavailable. This case kinda makes my s21 ultra a black one can't tell its silver with it on
I subscribed, because that was a very detailed presentation of the s21 case, and you're correct, if Samsung had made the s21 case like the s7 tab case, that would've been great.
Im left handed and i really love this case, it protect your phone really good. 100% recommend it
Definitely interested in this case as I'm left-handed too. Just saw that the cover is not magnetised - does it flop around?
❤ wow
I managed to change the display in the s-View window so that it is the other way around (rotated 180 degrees) now I have lost the settings for it and cannot set it back.. edit: it's here> Settings|Advanced|Accessories|TextDirection
Great review. Have you guys found a good flip case for s21 ultra with a cover that stays closed(magnetic, snap, whatever), steel plate on back for magnetic mounts, s-pen holder/charging, and decent side protection?
Nope. 😅 This is the case I ended up using with the SPen. kzhead.info/sun/qp2Lmbt9g4uXanA/bejne.html
@@davidpemberton5561 you are confused. Works great with s-pen on tablet.
@@davidpemberton5561 is also almost an entire year later.
Like the idea of the case, but the lack of features puts Me off. They could have utilised the screen so much better than they have, hopefully the case will evolve.
Left handers find it mediocre leaning towards annoying I really like the Sview so I keep using it but I literally bought a different case just because it's frustrating
Left hand hold pen with left, and phone with right hand so no problem in this case 🙂
How durable is it? Ive had the led version before on my galaxy s9 and it did last long. The fabric like material on the case started peeling off an stuff. Any idea how durable this is?
@@davidpemberton5561 thank you
S21 ultra Spen is working how did you spen work
I'm left handed but I use my right hand for most things so I think it's perfect lol
Just got this case today . Let's see how it treats me. I didn't look at any reviews before I bought it but needed something asap for a 360 protection. I wish it had a magnetic lock to close cause I really don't like how it opens up unexpectedly
Still my daily. And it's $20 😅 kzhead.info/sun/qp2Lmbt9g4uXanA/bejne.html
A magnet will affect the s pen thats why samsung doesn't add it
How is it so far? Does it hold up well?
@@Joshua-vs6vd I does not like it. Wasted my money on it
Looking into getting myself this case. But amazon reviews here in Germany are really bad. A lot of them saying that the cover is making scratches on the screen. Anyone experienced such things?
As far as i seen, it scratches a plastic screen protectors not the glass
Thanks for this review. I was thinking about ordering this cover but now I'm not so sure. My main objection is it doesn't stay closed. I've got the LED cover and it doesn't stay closed either. Kind of a pain in the butt.
Agreed. Just a little magnet to snap it shut. 🧲🧲
Samsung WANTS you to break your screen so it can market its phone insurance and justify the mobile phone case industry AND sell you repairs AND convince you that you need a new phone because you smashed your old one.
@@rd6416 no
how much price Oman Riyal
Is the pen water proof
I was looking for a case that protect the screen too, but no magnetic, no thank you.
I want one but not sure I trust it as much as my knock off otter box
Does this case (offer good protection against drops. Is the other SAMSUNG case (the one without a cover) a better drop protection? Mine is in the mail, but maybe I should get the one without a cover? Or do the offer the same drop protection? Or, is there another case that will hold the S-pen (that offers superior drop protection), maybe from a different manufacturer. I really wanted an Otter-box, but they don't offer an S-pen cover. I've always had an Otter-box, and (they have been through many drops in the last 20 years (so they are a proven brand, in my eyes). I found where ( Spigen ) has an S-pen case. Does any of you know if this (Spigen) case is a winner? Or is it a flop?
This one? 🤔 kzhead.info/sun/qp2Lmbt9g4uXanA/bejne.html
@@AsianGeekSquad Yes. That is the one. Does anybody know how that (Spegin) case holes up against drops. Like I tried to say, I ordered this Samsung flip cover from my carrier when I bought the phone. I come home and read the reviews on it. There is not one good review about it. So when it gets here, it will go back. In the meantime I ordered the Samsung case without a cover (the one that was in that video you shared with me). I did see some good reviews about how it saved her phone from a 4 foot drop, on the corner, on the pavement. I hate to believe just one single stranger. So I am still looking for a case that would be worthy of the Otter box label. Otter box have proven themselves to me several times these last 20 years. So in my eyes, their name is synonymous with quality. This s21 ultra 5g is extremely expensive. I want it to have a safe home.
I bought one of these with my phone and have just ordered another case to replace it because I don't like it. Why? There is no lip on the screen side of the phone. As there is no magnet to hold the case closed, in a fall, the flip will open if the phone spins at all and if it falls flat then the screen has no protection. On the silicone only case without the flip the case is raised to give more protection. in reviews of this case with the flip, the fact that the flip is right up against the glass means that even the slightest dust particles scratch the glass on the phone. This means the phone screen protector becomes cloudy all down the right edge and you have to pay to get it replaced. Obviously the same happens in the flip. basically a very poor design. I had a flip case on my old Sony phone and dropped that phone more than any other I have owned in the last 20 years because flip cases are really hard to hold when you are using the phone. Also, when you open the case and want to use the camera in portrait mode, you have to have the flip-door hanging to the side of the phone, or it gets in the way of the lenses and ends up in-shot. Did I say this was a bad design? I will say it again. it's a bad design! And an expensive one.
This one has been my daily driver. kzhead.info/sun/qp2Lmbt9g4uXanA/bejne.html
Such a huge rip off. Anyone else sick of paying more for less? The S Pen on the Note is always included and with way more features. Now we have to pay another $120 (in Australia) AND we lose expandable memory? It's bullshit. 🤬
Just get a Note. Problem solved. This isn't meant to be a Note. It's the S line w/ s pen fuctionality .
Aloha, does the front cover cause scratches on the screen over the time you used it with the S21 Ultra?
No scratches but I only ended up using it for about a week. My go case is now kzhead.info/sun/qp2Lmbt9g4uXanA/bejne.html when I want to use an spen. 🤙🏽
It scratches big time! Although it scratches the factory fitted screen protector, it still scratches the right hand side where the viewing plastic is, it's a really bad case, read the reviews on amazon, I bought the case with my phone, used it for 3 days and seen the scratches appearing, now its just in the phone bag never to be used again, big regret and waste of money
you have been using it for a long time, did it damage the display?
No, I haven't. Once I reviewed this case, it's my daily driver with the SPen. kzhead.info/sun/qp2Lmbt9g4uXanA/bejne.html
I have this case and This is a great case. The only issue is that the s view display gets a lot of scratches due to repeated open and close.
the cover not staying closed is why i stopped using it for my note 10 plus . it looks great for show. but offers ZERO protection for your phone should you ever drop it i was really hoping they would fix that quirk ............ seems they didnt
Yup. Made our list as "The Case to Avoid" 😅 asiangeeksquad.com/buzz/the-best-cases-for-the-samsung-galaxy-s21-ultra-5g-including-a-s-pen-case/
I have this case , I really like it but it does let its self down the fact the front lid constantly moves in your pocket and scratches the screen all the way down one side .
So a screen protector is a must have
@@lancenig I have a screen protector on my phone , yes it prevents the actual screen from scratching but you will need a replacement protector after a while . also the case window scratches over time .
Is the s-pen s-view flip cover available to those who already have the s-pen and don't want to buy another one?
Yup - the official S-View Flip Cover amzn.to/3eOn5Dw doesn’t come with an S-Pen. The only one that does is the Silicone Cover by Samsung.
@@AsianGeekSquad this doesn't have the s pen holder thought
It's a poorly designed case, the whole point of a flip cover style case is to protect your screen when you drop it. It's poinless if it doesn't have magnet becaue it will surely open when you drop it. The S Pen storage is also very awkward to use. The size and weight makes it almost not pocketable anymore. The whole S Pen on S serious is just an afterthought when they decided to cancel the Note and the implementation is just poor. I hope they do a better job with the S Pen pro.
They have sold the s flip cover cases for over 10 years now, and EVERY year people complain they don't close properly. Nothing changes because they don't want to change it.
If there's a magnet the spen will not work properly, that's what I've experienced
he's using an s21 plus or s21 for video. wow . didn't see that coming
2022 AND STILL using a Galaxy S21! =)
@@AsianGeekSquad m still using s21 ultra too :) high five! s21 series is great. i can't find any reason to upgrade yet
Yup, actually working on my S22 review and I’m going to keep my S21 a little longer. =)
@@AsianGeekSquad yeas! I'm starting to think that this antutu benchmark is just pute marketing. you can't even notice the difference between 8 gen 1 and snapdragon 888. phones from snapdragon 888 onwards i think have very identical performance in day to day usage. i have the wxynos s21 ultra and it's excellent in every way, I couldn't justify the difference between this and the snapdragon version
@@AsianGeekSquad why not use s21 ultra though? why s21?
It's so janky! No magnet, the fold where it flips looks like it will wear out, and you just have to leave the front flap hanging there awkwardly if you want to see the screen while taking photos. What were they even thinking? Ugh.
No different from any other case with a flip cover..
Assuming its wireless charging compatible?
Yup. 🤙🏼
So much lint on it by the end of the video lol. This case is legit in my cart right now ready to check out. Glad I looked up reviews on it. Doesn't even have a magnet to snap the case together how annoying. PASS

Samsung is sold out of these cases they won't come back until probably September somebody told me. And they're sold out of those black s pens too and I don't think they're going to come back until October my girlfriend tell me that in California ; go to the Samsung store and you will see they are sold out of the s pen and this case as well.
They will have 1 more in stock. I decided to return mine. 🤙🏽
I just ordered one this morning
Good review, I hate the way the flip cover flops about and removing the Spen looks pretty precarious, I feel you could drop the phone whilst trying to get your pen. I've read about this case scratching people's phones in the top right corner too?
Been using it for 3 months now and haven't noticed any scratches or problems with the case, the pen is easy to acces and fits snug in the side :) it's easy to remove and insert and the cover protects the phone well :)
The case is impractical.
The little screen cover is not good for the phone screen. Any dirt that gets on you screen will rub and scratch. I already have three small but deep scratches.
Having an S7-tab type cover was my idea, as I considered buying a regular cover and modifying it to hold the pen on the back ... I am quite inventive
Do it! I’m sold!

Lame s pen. Can't use it as remote shutter for photos. Lame Lame Lame
if doesn't have a magnet it's really crappy...
i don't recommend to buy this case , i have it since one month now and it scratches the display on the right side, so be careful not to waste your money
