Latercase 2023 Review - It Has One Fatal Flaw...
I finally bought more stuff from Latercase. The last time I did, 1/2 my order didn't show up BUT since I'm trying to figure out what the best Carbon Fiber case is, I figure I give this brand another go. Am I impressed? Nope.
There is one flaw with this product that holds it back. Sure it's incredible thin but at what point does being the thinnest case while negating one of the most important iPhone features mean anything?

No MagSafe in 2023 is insane for a $50 case
WHYYYYYYY 🤔
Bro Lew’s in his videos like it’s so thin, MagSafe still works but clearly it doesn’t
Spot on man - this amount of $$ in 2023/4 and no magnets is poor
Monty succinctly covered all the salient points of today’s review 🔥👍
Excellent review.
Could you review Moft tripod stand? I just want to watch videos while travelling. Is the magnet strong or weak like other moft products? I don’t use cases so it is very important for me.
Are you going to feature that TPU rubber bumper product you flashed quickly? A bumper series would be cool. The Arc pulse, that rubber one, some others as well.
Great video
I added an ESR Halolock ring to my Latercase. I also never buy Latercase at regular price and get some kind of discount when available.
From my understanding, those slits on the corners are deliberately done on thin, "plasticky" (aka not TPU) cases to allow them to flex and move as not not crack the material.
Honestly I'm still a big fan of the Latercase, but I'm not buying one this cycle as my MagSafe needs have changed. I used latercase with my 13/14 Pro phones and was very pleased, I loved the integrated camera protection, and I do prefer how latercase does the fiber wrapping. I wasn't too mad about the "MagSafe compatible" claims as it works fine to pick up charger magnets and it even worked fine with my car mounts unless you yolo'd a speed bump. The protection it offers is enough for daily usage, and I've dropped my phones plenty of times from waist height (and my samples did have enough corner protrusion to slightly elevate above my Amfilm screen protectors). Now I started using popsockets and you really need an integrated magnet for that. I didn't think that cases like the Mag EZ 4 or Mous Super thin were minimal enough to justify using them over a "normal case", but I ordered the MagEZ5 as soon as it was announced.
You should review the dbrand grip cases
can you review TORRAS Cases? I think their cases are pretty cool, grip ,stand, magsafe, magnet all in one, looking to get one, thanks in advanced
Have you reviewed the 2 piece bumper looking thing you showed at 0:41?
I am interested in the bumper ,too.
Can you make a video comparing the RHINOSHIELD GRIP O and the GRIPMAX (magsafe)?
I like my minimal Pitaka case for the 15 pro, Magsafe is a must.
MagSafe is not a must. Why is it so difficult to plug a charger into a phone?
@@desaix8008 I like it specially as a magnetic car mount. Nobody thinks plugging a cable in is difficult 😂
Did you review a Pitaka case?
Isn't Latercase just a drop shipped Aliexpress case?
Yep
alibaba not aliexpress
Do you know what kind of materials it used? 600D OR 1500D? I have been watching your video since 2016, you should know the principle of aramid fiber miniamlist case: using 600d means premium, 1500d soso.
Well that's unfortunate... put in an order for one yesterday and this video gets recommended shortly after. Only case I could find that completely covers the back of the phone (cameras and all) since I ended up with a phone color I'm not too fond of.
Do a review of Later Case with the Snap 4 Luxe,
They do have MagSafe accessories you can purchase for their case.
The gap from the LiDAR lens is really annoying as it builds up dust
pls review the Arc Case
It's in a couple of videos now. What is the smiley face accessory?
What’s the slimmest MagSafe case with buttons? Anyone have recommendations?
Please, do the Phone Rebel case review
I hate the giga camera hole on kevlar cases it is why I've bought every year my case from latercase :) Take it for what it is! a scratch protection for our phone :)
tech21 any good?
Well, considering it comes from a known scammer, what do you expect?
Can you explain why? You got me curious 😅😂
@@mohelmer6334search unboxtherapy scam, there’s too many to explain here
@@mohelmer6334Lew is basically a greasy conman of a Canadian Dude had at one point even done a fake truckload iPhone giveaway, where he showed a truck bed filled with iPhones and he said he was going to do a giveaway. Never even did it lmao.
@@Johnnygga no wonder the brand sounds familiar. they basically ripped off Pitaka to start their case business. i avoided anything that had to do with that channel after that.
@@mohelmer6334 Basically if you pay him enough money, he will “review” (advertise) your product no matter how scammy. The Escobar Phone scam was borderline illegal. His Latercase is a cheap clone of Pitaka. He denied it, but it turned out the day before releasing his case, he deleted his previous videos that included Pitaka cases. He also tried to copyright strike other videos that exposed his actions.
I haven’t used my Latercase since I bought it last year. Lol. I dropped my phone, with the case on, and it didn’t protect my phone whatsoever. Otterbox is always reliable. 👍🏽
Honestly visually I like latercase‘s corners more
I love Monty.
The lack of Magsafe made me go to Pitaka while shopping for a thin case.
Why don't u review ARC PULSE case???? Please review this item...it is super simple and minimalist and cool at the same time...please do it
One little drop and my pixel 7 cracked. When I tried it for the pixel fold the screen protector sucked with the case. Didn't buy it again
Had to laugh a Mous ad loaded before this video
Well they sell marring separately now. I forgot how much but why can’t they just attach them to the case in production.
Magsafe ring not marring
Who uses magsafe without the phone? If you have the phone in the case the magsafe works... The details on the case says it's compatible because it is.
I've been using that case and didn't even realize it didn't have magnets. It's performed quite well. I normally use Pitaka (that has magnets), and saw no difference between the two as far as adhering to magsafe chargers and holders. Had I seen this video, I probably would not have bought the case, but since I've had it for a couple of weeks and been using it when I saw this video, I can credibly disagree that the case should be avoided. It's a nice Pitaka alternative that has performed well.
Later case is basically Ali express junk marked up and their logo put on it. If you pay $50 for a $8 case you deserve it
Later case corners are far superior looking in my opinion
It could be that Latercase is trying to avoid the cost of having to retool the case design since it cost a lot for the factory to retool a new design and incorporate magsafe. To make their lives easier and also make a lot of money while they are at it, is buy a magsafe/magnetic ring that’s about $2(could be as low as a few cents for large orders) and sell it for 5x the amount. The maglock ring is such a bad idea since it creates a bump on the back that makes it annoying to use. They should have made a solution like what pitaka uses and mold the magnetic ring inside the case.
I bought it and it’s painful for the pinky
When are we going to get android reviews?
I don't understand the point of a case if it's not able to protect your phone.
Why don’t u ever do livestream anymore? Seems like ever since Val left the channel, u seem to have forgotten us viewers love to chat live!
Wish he would 😢
Why did Val Leave the channel?
An ultra thin aramid case can’t expand. If it covers the buttons, it must have cuts that allow the sides to separate slightly when you put it on. If it doesn’t cover the buttons, then the button gaps act as the cut. After the questionable thing Lew did, I unsubscribed from him and forever refuse to buy his Latercase.
The later case just feels like it cost them 5 cents to make the thing. Zero premium feel at all. Other fiber cases like it feel like they are built much better.
Absolutely can't understand why anyone would buy a case like this what is the point. You gotta have protection.
If you don’t drop your phone from high heights I suppose
I got the same case on Amazon for $24 and it’s perfect not worth $50
I don't use case with magsafe at all and will not
It doesn't just have one floor it has three flaws easily.... I actually could say four but I'll skip the fourth reason and I'll go to how there's three things about this case in fact pitaka itself, that will have me never purchase one of their cases ever again
Bro. Carbon Fiber is made of carbon. They specifically say the case is made of aramid. It's NOT CARBON FIBER.
Of course, pitaka is better
They now offer a MagSafe color matching attachment I’m a fan of this case for sure
Latercase more like Nevercase
They ripped off Pitaka, had the backing of a youtuber and still they can't even make these cases work with MagSafe. LOL.
EAP case is way better
Does Val still use latercase? She probably just loves going bare.
What a weird comment
I don’t get the point of a super thin case it kinda defeats the purpose of a case
Stoped watching unbox after he ripped off people. Dude is a joke. He ripped off other case makers and charges way more. His channel just became advertisements.
Ripped off people how?
A waste of money. No magnets. No protection. No point.
