Can you believe that Taiwan has a cat village?! What a fun day out to Houtong. Between an hour to an hour and a half travelling from Taipei to get to this wonderful cat village, and it's very cheap to get to! I highly recommend taking a trip here during your travels in Taiwan. It's sucha fun and creative town!

That cat dessert looks so cute, I will travel there for that dessert lol! I believe that cat village has helped many cats, and the cats have brought many tourists to the local area, which is a great way to reciprocate! The aerial shots are so beautiful! It was around 2009, when there were over a hundred cats in this village, the animal protectionists helped to improve the environment be more friendly to the cats. But next, it became a popular place for people abandon cats; and since the cats were densely populated, the disease spread easily. Since 2014, the volunteers started to make changes, the cats have regular medical care, and the olds are cared. Now the cat village is good for the cats 😊❤
Aww that’s a very interesting history, both sad but also beautiful that they are all so well looked after now 🤗 it did feel like such a great place for all of the cats to roam around and they all look well fed!

hey 1:15 I think if you want to keep your train ticket as a souvenir after the train trip you can ask the staff to stamp it and you are allowed to keep it with you. probably.
Ahh that’s a really good point! I really wish I’d thought about that 🙈 I definitely need to go back again for that! I actually have a little book where I keep all my cuts and souvenirs! Thanks for your comment 🤗
@@kierantravels (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)👍 I think all of the train stations allow you to do this (If I am not wrong). Including the highspeed railway. As long as you don't go through an auto ticket gate. Go to the staff and ask for keeping your ticket when you are at a ticket gate, and they will mark the ticket and let you get out manually. That's what I think. I don't know if it is still the case around all the TRA and THSR stations. But I think probably yes. (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ) I like keeping ticket sometimes use as a bookmark.
Amazing! Well, I’m absolutely going to do this next time! I’m very much looking forward to my next trip back to Taiwan. Keeping all them little souvenirs and using them as a bookmark is a great idea! It is definitely the best thing!

@@kierantravels last question I promise, when you're filming yourself you're shooting on a GoPro? When you're getting b-roll, cutaways what camera are you using? It looks really sharp.
Apologies, I’ve only just seen this! I shoot on GoPro 10 and for B roll are use the Canon EOS R (primarily for photography) - I really appreciate your kind words! Thank you!
