I feel like something that tall should have been a tripod style jack.

You say that, but wouldn't adding a piece of wood also change the load strength?
@@njebs. it might change the load weight, if you where using the piece of wood as a lever, which is almost completely impossible. Using the wood vertically won’t change the load at all. But I will still know that a 2 ton jack can support 2 tons. Who knows how much this jack can support?

You should also extend the base. That would be the smart thing to do. Weld a larger flat piece of square steel to the base so it has a bigger footprint

It would probably be best you dont use that jack on ANY and I mean ANY vehicles or heavy shit. You would have no idea what the load capacity of that thing would be unless you do some cumbersome and potentially inaccurate tests.

And the valve remains the same, which means it will take more tension than the producer had designed it for . Making it last way less , once the valve goes poof due to more pressure then it’s to be thrown away.

Bottle jacks are compact, but my gripe with them is they don't start low and then extend tall. But other jacks already do, so I'd have no reason to commence a project like this. At least I wouldn't use it to lift a vehicle anymore.

That hydraulic jack was too high, it couldn't be used easily.
I can extend it in no time after the stroke ends by putting a jackstand on the car then lift it more with the jack on a log.
I don't care what they say you have some impressive skills.

They're some rough arse threads....don't screw them dry, use coolant or ct90 cutting compound for a lot better result.

@@itsmisterchris well my point is that not every dip shit should be making videos. A lot of people go to KZhead for information(unfortunately). There’s no doubt that this person is very talented and skilled but what he made a video of is probably going to get someone really hurt. More than likely a engineer spent a lot of time designing that jack to perform to certain specifications and this guys altercations basically threw that all out the window.
