  • There should be a barrier between the crowds of people and horses and guards for safety. They are an absolute hindrance. Insulting the guards. Messing with the horses reins. Its totally unacceptable. They soon complain when the horse bites them. Having a barrier woul stop all there stupid rude behaviour! The guards and the horses deserve better than this.

    • I completely agree, the tourists think it's funny when the guards scream at them so they deliberately provoke them. They don't realise that these people are not just a tourist attraction, they are real soldiers doing their job. At one time an attack on the King's guard was seen as an attack on the King himself. There are so many people crowding around constantly touching the horses and they get agitated too. Barriers would definitely be a good idea for all concerned.

  • I feel for the horses and their guard. Understandable if the horse gets skiddish at times. Umbrellas, movements from the crowds, chatter and touching can ruffle even the best trained horse. If they had old tired plow horses they are more settled, but something a working guardsmen would use. I absolutely adore horses, grew up on a horses back basically. Bareback, twine around the neck and I was always barefoot 😊. Wish I was a young girl again. It would be lovely to be riding again. Love from Canada 🇨🇦 🍁

      @Ripplesinthewaters@RipplesinthewatersАй бұрын
    • @@Ripplesinthewaterspersonally? I think they’re being stupid. I’ve seen plenty of these videos where the horses’ “personal space” is completely ignored. The warning sign is there for a reason. Yet tourists still walk up to the horse without regard for their safety or that of anyone else. I would assume the guards’ horses are selected for temperament among other traits. Having said that, animals can have off days too. Then it’s on the guard to read his horse’s mood and demand space for the horse.

  • You'll confuse people with these titles. There's enough ignorance about these regiments as it is. They are both King's Guards in the Household Cavalry and they are both active duty soldiers. These titles give the impression that the guys in camo are military and the guys in ceremonial uniform are something else. The only difference between these two men is that one is on ceremonial duty today and the other isn't. Tomorrow the guy in ceremonial uniform will be back in British Army camouflage and the guy in camouflage may well be on horseback in ceremonial uniform. I thought the point of these channels were to be informative. The regiment is active duty with a small amount of its time engaged in ceremonial functions. "King's Guard helps fellow King's Guard" would be a less misdirecting title. Edit: I've just come from a rather frustrating conversation on Quora with a particularly "gifted" US citizen about this very issue. I'm still riled up lol.😆

  • Me being a man who just turned 59 today I must realize that me visiting London is most likely not going to happen ever. The thing is I love history so I sort of count on these videos to see what I may have heard or read about. For example explaining to people Whitehall is not wear Jack the Ripper went to. So using what I know it is not often 2 regiments would be on duty at the same time in the same location. The guy in camouflage is the same regiment as the folks in the dress uniforms. The officers are the same regiment and I appreciate them engaging in conversation. So anyway thanks for the video and lots of love from Canada. Btw when a horse is a bit freaked out get the hell out of the way instead of sitting there gawking. One stomp could easily crush bones including the skull.
