My dad got me hooked on this when it first started… wish he could have been here to see this day!
“It’s the only game i have played for hours, for fun.” - Simon Has there EVER been a greater endorsement?
I was one of the kickstarters. I'm still playing. Love this game
Not all heroes wear capes.
which one of the paintings is you?
since theres a Thick44 Flag ingame they should add like a Thick44 trader too
Uncle Thick...Great Idea
They should have plenty of his voice for comments of the trader talking to the players
No, I think enough games have memorialized the guy. Not every SINGLE game he or the group plays needs to memorialize him.
That would be great to walk up and have Thick yell you're nothing!
Just constantly tells you you're nobody every time you access his inventory.
A suggestion about name tags. 4 settings; 1. Always on 2. Always off 3. Only on at close distance(10ft or closer) 4. Only on at far distance(10ft or farther)
Minecraft handles it well.
Alternatively, make the specific distance for the 3rd and 4th options customizable.
Great bit of insight into the devs. I discovered 7Days back in a16 or 17 watching Glock9 and found Neebs shortly after. I've watched both channels ever since and played 1000+ hours. The custom game options, random maps, and buildable world are just second to none.
Simon is a little bit of everything... Irish, Italian, Idiot, Greek, Angry... The list goes on. But we love 'em for it c:
You forgot the most important. Sandwich Connoisseur.
New Yorker, Damn Yankee, refuses to learn to cook his own food in game, make his own gear and weapons...
This comment took me out 😂😂😂😂😂
Always remember. He's back and he's black as well as he's here and he's queer lol
_"My mother was half German, half Italian and half Irish."_ _"That's three halves."_ _"She was a big woman."_ - Columbo 😆
The concept of turning into a zombie when you die and coming back as a different person that has to go get that zombie if you want your stuff back was done in ZombieU and it was awesome (underrated game imho). Totally onboard with that in 7d.
They do that in Project Zomboid. It's frustrating to chase down your former character down for your shiz. I love it
Was done before that in Project Zomboid
@@ArmitageShanksMC You do know that ZombieU released in 2012 and Project Zomboid released in 2013, ZombieU did it first
@@ghost656metal8 2013 was PZ's steam release date. It was available for years before that.
When you're playing multi player you should be able to become a zombie. Yo make problems for the living, try to eat the ones still alive. Maybe your level let's you decide which zombie skills you get.
So beyond excited for the updated console release! I've spent countless hours watching your 7DtD playlists.
This. The current console version feels like a beta. There's hardly zombie variety and the skill changes are essential I can't play without the updates im streaming every day
#1 survival game out there for me! Been playing since 2016. They always making the game better and better every alpha.....P.S Neebs Gaming 7 days to die videos always good laughs!!
Neebs Crew. Thank you for this interview. Fun Pimp Crew. Thank you so much for speaking openly about 7Days. I am a PlayStation console early adopter and have waited "patiently" this whole time. I truly appreciate what TFP did to bring the game back to us. 7Days has been downloaded on every system in my house since it hit consoles, even now on my 2 PS5s. (It is too unstable to really enjoy anymore, but you get the idea). I am READY to enjoy what PC supporters have had access to, even if "only" in an alpha form. Again, thank you for going the extra mile for us, specifically. In recent years, game development has taken a turn for the worst, but you guys have earned the same type of respect as Larian and Arrowhead, in my book.
I bought this game 5 years ago.... I kept spawning in the desert and dying. I thought the game was busted .. Then I saw the game play from these boys and got addicted.... Busted out the game again and I'm now 100+ days in game now and loving it.
I remember play those alphas. You forgot spawning in a desert on a cactus.
sounds like it might of been an unstable alpha but once your hooked in those became apart of the charm mixed with the F.R.E.S.H Hype (Features not bugs)
Great interview, thank you Neebs crew, Richard, and Lathan for doing this. I first discovered 7 Days from the Neebs channel during Alpha 16 and bought it after watching a few videos. Ever since then this has been by far my favorite game with over 5k hours played and I still can’t wait for new versions to come out, I’m definitely in the ‘Forever Alpha’ camp. The ability to explore every room of every building and destroy any block are really unique and it’s what sets this game apart from all others in my opinion. Thanks Fun Pimps for creating such an amazing game and Neebs crew for making such great content with it.
I have over 2000 hours put into this game with almost 1000 out in with my daughter… all because I saw Neebsgaming play this all those years ago… I’ve waited for what seems like a lifetime… rest in piece Thick44. Rest now warrior
If they want a whole another variety of pois They should add new biomes Ex. Swamps, jungles In swamps, you could have buildings that have been taken over by nature (vines) In jungles, treehouses, or secret facilities
I joined in on Alpha 18 and got spawned into the winter biome and STRUGGLED for the first 2 days then left it alone. I'm so thankful that I decided to give it another shot a few days later...1800 hours logged in steam so far, and no where near done! So cool that Fun Pimps came on for this Neebscast, the Neebs crew definitely are the team to represent 7DTD, great episode today!
No offence to the Neebs team but for me Glock 9 leads the way for 7DTD content!
I have more hours in this game over any other game in my life. Just want to thank the modders for keeping it alive 💪
7 Days to Die has been in my life since the year of its release on steam. I spent time playing and enjoying the changes the Fun Pimps made to the game every update. From looting every corpse in front of my field of cone spikes and barbed wire after a horde night, to flying my gyrocopter to the wasteland to find that drone schematic, this game has evolved greatly. I can't do the game enough justice with my description of how much I enjoy this game. When the Neebs crew picked it up, two worlds collided. I appreciate you guys for your coverage of all the games you play, but 7 Days to Die especially. Us fans who play along with you can agree we love seeing you guys go through the struggles of early game survival after a content change. Mega-thumbs up!
Pretty much the same for me. I played with one of the creators in rust for a good while before 7 days was even really a thing, got about 9k hours in it now.
Congratulations Fun Pimps!! You guys made one of the best zombie survival games to date. Keep up the fantastic work! Can't wait to see what the future of the game holds!
They made one of the best zombie survival games to date, despite their best efforts! :V
This has always been my favorite game ever made! I can only play on console and if it had the vehicles and trader missions, I'd play a lot more!
I was a "Sunrise Survivalist" backer level on Kickstarter and got the game Dec. 12th 2013. I loved seeing the goals hit to add new things. The game was almost unplayable at the beginning. Part of it was my crap computer. This is one of the few games where I won't play it for months/years and still come back. Always changing and adding.
I don't agree that world generation is much better....I liked world generation pre alpha 20 where the world was more dynamic....nowadays worlds are very flat.....before there used to be roads that go up and down around mountains.....though I do agree that the tile based parts of the cities make them look nicer....what we need is perhaps more tiles that interconnect that go up and down vertically in between POI's.....and more wilderness roads that flow up and down through mountaneous areas.......and bridges, definitely bridges over lakes, rivers and in between mountains.
7 days is my fav of all time. Thanks Neebs and FPs for this great discussion.
I'm still learning the basics of this game on pc, in a very pussified mode, never would've played if I hadn't stumbled upon your channel. Thanks Neebs crew.
Im a xbox player an have been waiting a long long time for a update. Thank you
I know man it’s killing me. Just seems so clunky on Xbox. Plus it will crash like 4 times in a 10 hour session.
I brought this game 6 years ago and as a console player i always felled screwt by these guys.
Console players should be mad at telltale games. Once they went bankrupt that was it. One of telltale debtors probably now owns the rights to that version rather than TFP. I fault them for a lot but not that.
there was a long battle but the fun pimps got the rights to the console version back, however the difference between the two versions makes it too difficult to update the current console version, so they’re going to release a new game for console players that’s equal to the pc version, they’re in talks with Sony and Microsoft about giving a discounted price for people who own the old version.
Keep waiting, because you're not getting an update. You have to buy a new version of the game. 🤷♂
idk why I thought the "weather overhaul" was gonna bring tornados, snowstorms, windstorms etc 🥲
personally id like an atmosphere change with like dust particles in the air or something. maybe better fog. or small things like the sound of rain hitting the top of the roof.
@@Chuck014777 i just want cold and heat to be a threat again like they were in A15
That would require them to work they dont wanna do that
@simpletora7313 maybe they will, if it actually hits gold 🤔
@@envenom136 after hearing them double down on the dew collector stupidity. not gonna happen.
ive got 10k hours in the game, best 10 bucks i ever spent, but i will say this, the last 2k hours have been using mods, vanilla without bandits, quest lines, improved skill progression, better farming and wider range of vehicles. no fishing, no boats... so much left to be done. and i miss the water physics that allowed us to make our own water features like fountains and things.. and the random gen without a lake and river system?
Thank you Simon. I appreciate the hard work my brother.
This is insane. 7 days is unlike any other game out there for me. The replayability and style and feel, it's just so unique
Thanks for putting this together!
They nailed it! A good survival game is challenging but will never kill me unless I mess up... a bad survival game kills me no matter what I did.
I can't help but think of the discrepancy between that statement and Ark, lol. Rule #1 of Ark is that you will die. A lot.
this is just what I needed for my train ride home after a stressful day of work ❤
7d2d got to say. my Fave survival game to play.. I played solo for a few years. My SO so wanted to play but the stress of early game back then would not allow him due to heart issues (Dr too care of that)... Now he is as addicted as I am. Keep up the good work.
Love the vids guys keep the content coming ❤🎉
Even though I’ve been shut out of playing the updated since I’m a console player, I still have really enjoyed watching Neebs crew and Glock 9 playing. Keep up the great work!
Im so fortunate to be alive to experience this group of guys content. Their like the fun uncles that your always excited to go visit. I played 7dtd nearlt sonce they deopped it. Ibe never once felt any hard feelings towards the game. The game is a gem and gems take time to perfect into Jewls.
I met one of my now best friends who lives 8 hours away in a 7 days Xbox pubic lobby. I had just started gaming and accidentally said “love you” when I was leaving the party chat and it set the tone for a great friendship I guess as we both had a good laugh. We have been friends for 7 years, even went on vacation together. I found Neebs Gaming that same week, this game has definitely changed my life for the better.😊
That was an awesome chat. Thank you guys!!!
This has been the very best interview with the FunPimp, NGs. You guys managed to work with them and so they gave us so much more information that I would have expected. Thanks to Richard and Lathan for making the game I love and that I've sunk the most time into over the last ten years.
I am so excited. Have been playing on console for close to 8 years. Brought the game originally because I could play split screen with my Grandson and he is 16 now. First brought on disk and then updated to digital. Soooo excited.
Id love to see some more weapons and return of weapons parts. Peicing of weapins together and being to upgrade them was so much fun
Devs saying “they’re gonna blame us regardless” at 9:30 and Appsro agreeing is so ironic lol
Because anyone who has worked in game development *knows* the truth of "you can't please all the people all the time." The evolving skill system in 7D2D is an excellent example if this. Some people love the magazine skill system, some hate it. Personally I think it's a lot better than crafting a stone axe 50 times to raise my skill level a few points.
@@jeffrobagman2834 but the previous version is not like the system you are comparing it to, so that is kind of pointless to say
@@jeffrobagman2834 I have literally seen no one liking the new skill system lol
@@jeffrobagman2834 no developer is ever going to be able to please everyone, we all know this, you don't need to point out the obvious, The Fun Pimps received a large amount of negative feedback against the magazine system, VERY large by the way, but since they keep up holding up to their reputation of not listening to community feedback they released it anyway, the learn by doing system was good all they had to do was polish it and improve it, however TFP have a large history of changing and reworking mechanics pointlessly getting nowhere with such changes.
@@StrifeRaider Well now you can start counting...🤣
Game Society Pimps is where i first found this game YEARS ago. Over 400 episodes, definitely what made me make the purchase initially.
Oh god, this is going to be difficult to comment on without soundling like a dick. I feel 7DTD, as a base, is a good game. But the skill changes? No, and their reasons for moving away from LBD just proves the devs want YOU to play the way THEY want. So what if people were grinding out skills? They CHOOSE to do that. That isn't a gameplay problem. Dying due to bugs? Oh lord. I have a list. What about zombies stumbling forwards when they get hit? What about zombies hitting you while stumbling/stunned/on the ground with no animation? What about zombies having extendo-arms when crouched? Those are all BS GAME problems. Mixing games to get something as good as 7DTD? RImworld and Minecraft. Done. Next. The character system and them bitching about the limits of UMA? That sounds like someone who didn't read the UMA docs. They could've easily done more armor/clothing/weapons/better anims WITHOUT changing that system. I'm absolutely calling BS on that. I'm not gonna say more than that out of respect for the guys, but this was TFP just fluffing themselves up and trying to justify dumb changes rather than facing criticism.
unfortunately the mindset of the average consumer is naive mainly due to ignorance, the fanboys will be quick to jump and claim that criticism is negativity, essentially shielding the developer from facing real and concrete criticism, it goes beyond what TFP are as a developer as it's also the communities fault in my opinion, but this video very obviously pointed out the main issue going on at TFP which is a MASSIVE ego that they keep holding on to.
Meh, you aren't being a dick, I'd say you're something of an expert on the material.
thank you
I'm not a fan of Darkness Falls, because I think it just adds a bunch of tedium, but I have to say, you nailed it here. It continues to amaze me how TFP are just completely up their own asses, and refuse to consider that they are capable of making dumb decisions and mistakes. It's also amazing to me that they don't seem to watch any of the content people make of 7 Days, or play any of the mods that people make. Both of these would be HIGHLY educational as to how people play, and what people see as flaws that need to be fixed. I mean heck, something simple like the cruise control mod just goes to show how a simple change makes a big difference in QOL of the game.
For the wardrobe thing. They could add physical backpacks and the backpacks could have side slots for clothing and create a hotkey to swap clothing but add an action timer to change into the outfit so people aren't able to just spam change when needed. Perhaps 2-3 seconds per piece of clothing.
It's crazy to think how old this game is, I remember when you guys started playing. I was thinking, there's no way I can watch this series in it's graphical state back then but it grew on me quickly, by the time of the first horde at the police station, I was all in. It does not seem that long ago. They've done a great job, and you guys and Glock playing it has been wonderful...for very different reasons, lol.
Saw your guys billboard love your stuff
I stumbled upon Neebs Gaming having been a fan of Sl1pg8r and his Stuff n Things. If Sl1pg8r hadnt headed off to sail the seas, Him being in your Ark videos ...omg. xx A really informative and entertaining interview. Luv the lot of you. You rock.
14:00 I agree with the current skill system. It *forces* you to look for book skills. They could implement something to give you more books for the stuff you want. Maybe it already has that but I haven’t noticed it in my recent play throughs. Can’t wait for the official release. Hope this game takes off even more.
Putting points into related skills slightly boosts the chances of finding the relevant books in loot.
The reading only sadly makes progression bad, mixed would better. You want some kind of reward for doing a chosen action. Without mods I wouldn't play this game anymore.
Cool news guys,,never played,it's been a long long time, last online game I played was WOW,and it's been 15 years 🫣🫢🤗🤫,I do love watching you all play, and how you guys Drive Simon crazy 👍
Thank you neebs for asking the question I wanted to ask about the players dead body becoming a zombie.
I'm excited for the optimisations. Also happy for the console folks finally getting the game!
Really hoping we see big improvements with optimizations. With a 5 ghz cpu and a 4090 gpu I'm still getting big frame drops on horde nights and t5 pois. I'd love to see that fixed.
@@shadowproductions969 yeah the performance is all over the place, i have the game installed on 2 pc's and it works better on the one with lower specs lol.
One of my favorite games to play when I just need a break. Been playing off and on for 8 +/- years
I didnt expect Simon to come in talking about the World War Z book, but so glad he did! Love that book, someone should make an HBO series about it
Very interesting presentation. A collection of news reports and whatnot.
@jeffrobagman2834 exactly! Each episode could be one or two chapters. But thinking about it, it might be easier to do as an animated series. Maybe something like Love, death, and robots
We need a wearable thick44 shirt ingame
I love it! My favorite content creators & my favorite game developers in the same podcast. Worthy of a second listen.
Give me dummies to put my different armor sets on for a quick equip and change before I go out on adventure. :) I like that you want to prolong the early game struggle, it is a survival game and we play those because we're masochistic. It came to a hold for me when I hit the forge game play, its way too small and too fast to achieve, either I need more tiers or slower progress. Neebs crew played a modded version from Khain where theres titanium, lazer ect. work benches I need something to grind for. More and different enemies, maybe some sort of "Elite" creatures or world bosses protecting difficult POI's. I am looking forward for the next updates to come, you guys are doing a wonderful piece of work on the game. Oh and Shawn of the dead very underrated zombie movie.
I wish they would play Icarus that game is an amazing survival experience, trees catch on fire from lightning strikes! So many cool mechanics!
Been playing since the start. 3500+ hours on there.
About 9k here :D roughly half of that in darkness falls now.
18k!! Thats over a year and a half played 24/7 just to put into perspective
@@tomsmith2604 yeah I took a hiatus from the pc. Lol
@@bloodlustshiva1 my buddy plays that. I stick to plain vanilla.
Steam wants to know if you suggest this game 😂
I like how the last podcast neebs mentioned how if they start recording the current alpha the next one gets announced. And like 2 days later they announced the full release. (I know the podcasts on KZhead are released like a week later but still )
I enjoyed the video. I have briefly played the game until my computer was drowned from flooding on the 18th of August 2023. My entire basement got flooded the water seeped through the garage door and the drain. I am back to viewing videos of 7DTD. Good to hear its now officially released . Good job to the developers and to NeebsGaming for having you on their NeebsCast.
8:50 starts a great mentality shown by the developer (much to Simon's chagrin haha) but I'm sure I'm not the only one who enjoys more-so the early game of 7 Days, than when I'm all kitted out and become the Terminator
I'm not happy about the Outfit slot removal I dunno if that's in stone but losing customization is a drag.
Thank you, Richard and Nathan for giving Neebs gaming the opportunity. We love you guys! I've enjoyed this game since its release long ago. Texas Strong
Been playing since alpha 16. Still love it
I am right there with Simon...This is the only game I have lost my self in for hours with friends. It was also the first game I really got into playing online.
@47:20 I'm one of those VR enthusiasts! Already played over 200 hours of it! I'd LOVE for the devs to get involved in its development. It didn't seem like they were too interested in it tho... But glad to hear there are "talks" about it! (*breathes more copium*)
Anyway to automate inventory management is always a positive.
As someone who has been stuck on alpha 15 on console, i'm so excited to get back into it and to be able to play along with what the Neebs crew get to do. If it wasn't for the Neebs crew keeping me entertained with their videos I would've just gave up on caring for the game. Can't wait. LETS GOOOOO!!
As much as like to slag off Wildcard for their idiotic running of Ark. Ive actually come to the conclusion these guys might actually be worse. They seem to have flat out forgotten about Console.
I can't wait for the 1.0 Series
a good struggle is one where is have options to decrease (or increase) it. There is ususally way, if not with ingame options than with mods.
It's an unfair struggle to tech up in something and still can't do it since I can't find magazines. That really sucks.
Can't wait for the console release!❤❤
2 things. 1. We had better be able to turn bandits off because I believe zombies is enough. I don't need NPC raids as well. 2. Been playing console since well Alpha 15 because that's all I have. If there is no discount offered to console players from the release date. I personally will not be buying Exodus until there is a discount offered. It's only fair all things considered. PC players have been able to play the most updated version up til now with no extra purchase necessary. Console players need to re-buy the game basically. No one may agree but that's on them.
Your body (after dying) becoming a zombie that you have to chase down to get your gear back is legitimately one of the coolest mod ideas I've ever heard.
The best game on steam, especially with the modded community and these guys have been the best channel with out a doubt anyone can watch. Between Neebs and the Fun Pimps I'm building my own PC and thinking about setting my own gaming channel up. This game is the only game you have full control over the environment by being able to dig down and fully control your environment . And following Neebs from Alpha 16 for me has really got me into PC gaming. When I eventually try streaming and try getting onto doing the same. Neebs, The Fun Pimps and (god rest his soul) Thick 44 will be the reason behind it. I still have to watch old videos because of the man warrior and was one of the saddest days for me
I really wish someone would have asked about food and drink item actions. Really breaks the immersion as it works now, everything you eat is a piece of bread lol
if you look at the earlier versions that stuff looked better. Guns, Nerds, and Steel did some vids on the differences and improvements(?) made from version to version. crazy how much stuff has been dumbed down.
This is due to the fact that the Unity engine comes with a texture limit. TFP had to remove all the different food/drink icons in your hand to add additional textures into the base product.
Listening to the World War Z audiobook is amazing. It's like an old radio serial. So glad that 7 Days is leaving Early Access! Kudos!
As long as performance gets sorted out finally it might be good
I love 7DTD and When it finally goes gold Im definitely gonna try getting the friends on console to play with me.
I really miss the barbed wire strips and the large singular log spikes. Other than that I'm really happy with how the game has grown!
8:15 hopefully that means you won't need a filter to build a dew collector. Having to build a dew collector with filter and then having to put in a filter mod for the filter to work would be immersion breaking.
I'm a console player and I am beyond excited for the console launch. I love 7d2d and really look forward to being on parity with the amazing PC version.
I've been playing 7D2D for a few years and it still kinda blows my mind that I can manipulate everything. If I want to put the effort in, I can build an entire town from scratch. Anything I can see, I can destroy or move. I can't think of any other game that lets me have that level of control.
H1Z1 already had the "you turn into a zombie when you die" thing. Your gear took durability hit due to death but you could still kill your zombie and get your gear back. it was a really cool feature
I love 7D2D!!! And I agree, the early game struggle is the most fun. Once I reach a certain stage I usually restart. BUT.... I play on Xbox, so the constant crashing gets pretty exhausting. Very, very, very excited about the consol release 😃😃😃
Im hoping some love can be seen towards who own the earlier version on consoles at least, i was stuck playin the alpha 13. For years hoping for an improvement, the problem is, in Brazil, a new game costs around 10..15% of what we make in a month of work, that's crazy expensive for most of us, having 2 of the same games paid full is really bad :(, huge brazilian fan of the game tho, can't wait to play it on consoles!
I wish they would put all their 7 Days content on DVD or bluray at some point, I would definitely buy it lol
We'll get bows working properly in VR eventually! Great video and great game!
I just bought a PC to play 7 days! A week later they announced the console update.
they got the rights back in 2019, so I bought a Xbox series S in 2020 knowing I would need a next gen.The very console they say is the limiting factor in parity. sometimes it hurts to laugh. :)
You're much better off. Xbox is dying a fast death right now, and Playstation keeps screwing up as well. PC is the only platform that seems to be thriving, plus you have all the benefits like modding, low price sales on Steam, etc. Consoles are dying out.
This was awesome.
"It's the only game that I've played for hours for fun" Man, that's so true. This is one of the very few games that I have thousands of hours in. but the others I've definitely spent many of those hours cussing at the devs because I'm not playing for fun but grinding to get something.
I can't wait for the Neebs Gaming 7 Days to Die Comedy show, that idea about coming across random campfires and wooden boxes all over sold it for me lol!
I know people want to be nice since they love 7 days, we all do, but speaking up whenever you can is the best way to improve the game and as it stands it needs a lot of improvement on the gameplay mechanics part and 7 days devs refuse to let you openly communicate anywhere they actively are as they hate criticism. They created an amazing base but modders made this game great. Vanilla 7 days is beyond boring and easy and you have to personally restrict yourself in several manners to make it any sort of fun/challenging because of how they’ve changed it.
They don't listen to criticism. I've tried. You just get shouted down by fanboys and dismissed. Myself and another modder were outright told by madmole, that he doesn't need to listen to us because we haven't had a game at E3 like he did.
2 of my most favorite games, are coincidently the games that have been in alpha for the longest time, 7dtd and Factorio, and now both are "finally" released :D
26:17 Flooring store on the left. Yw 😅
7 days is my favorite game. Over 3500+ hrs logged on steam and probably another 500 on console
"The Battery" is a really great zombie Movie.
Simon: "...and that's another thing that pisses me off!"
This was fantastic
