  • Saw one about 20 years ago off Cape John near the old Macdonalds warf in the Seafoam area Northumbrland Straight. Female I think, came in close to my boat. They're just beautiful I cant image anyone hurting one, you can see in thier eyes that they're intelligent.

    • This species isn't endangered like most whales, this species is critically endangered meaning that it's the closest to extinction and with only around a hundred or so breeding females it may indeed go extinct soon.

    • @Jay Kay Wow... This affects me personally because these whales are right in my back yard. Over 40 died in one year and now the population left is around 360 The population has been in decline for a long time and those bullshit donations are the only reason why they haven't gone extinct yet.

    • @@adeliaforsteri3683 Hey no problem buddy! Just try to see one in the next 5-8 years... After that I don't know. Maybe they can save them like how they saved the Humbacks around Panama but it's a long shot this time.

  • Put tracking devices on the Right whales. Propeller guard should be on every boat. Two things that will make a difference. I hope to see one in it's natural environment.

    • Yes ...even a thin teaspoon design would be effective but it's the entanglements and excess orca populations that are wreaking the most havoc on larger ocean mammal species'

    • They got their name from walers who considered them to be the "right" kind of whale to hunt and that's why they went from 15k to just a few hundred. Edit: over 40 died last year so now the population is around 360.
