Sir, the place where you record the video is already a beautiful place. Regardless a boring angle it still looks great. Please try some odd place and make us teach how to record even in a bad place.....eagrly waiting for that. Thank you!
Ya this location was epic…Ive never even seen a setting like this in person…
Agree
Yes, but he made it look even more epic and beautiful. I appreciate it.
Fatastic request!
Very easy bro: Just take your mobile phone. go into you 1 squaremeter storeroom and apply these tips. ODD place, shot creatively, done.
Great content! Here's a summary of the advices: 1. Avoid eye level, it's boring - go low, change composition 2. Camera movement - move in / high / side, or go very low. Imagine the camera on gimbal or slide and replicate that move with your hands. Detail shots, experiment with frame rates (slowmo). 3. Link your shots - lock focus, end /start the frame on blury background for seemless transition to wide shot or detail 4. Check horizon - incorporate horizon to your shots for sense of depth and viewer orientation 5. Timelapse - creative way to liven up your video with interesting movement (grass, clouds...) 6. Lighting - play with light (reveal the sun, use flickering thru leaves and lens flare)
Step 1: get an iPhone 😀
Thanks for writing it down
Took a screenshot to remember this thing🥰
Thank you so much for explain it so well
Thank you for your Great Content 😉
"... where nothing exciting is happening", he says, standing right in the middle of one of the most stunning spots I've ever seen. 😂🤣😂 I have to add, though, your tips are again second to none. I'm only a recent subscriber, but I'm currently binge watching your videos. Great work and very generous of you to make it available to the "needy" like me. Thx, mate! 🙏🏽😎
Notes 1:48 Avoid eye level 3:10 Camera movement 6:48 check your horizon 7:48 timelapse Tip if you dont have much time ( slide it camera close to the ground) 8:24 lighting
I am guilty of all the “Mr. Boring” actions since I am just using my mobile phone to shoot my vlogs 😭 Thank you so much for this video 😭 I’m definitely applying it on my succeeding videos.
Me, too. I am too ashamed of what I have in my phone. After watching this, I gain a better perspective on how I can make my videos amazing using his tips. 👏👏👏
I can't wait to see this channel get to 1 Million subs cos I Learn so much with every new video and thanks Steve for the Skillshare link ❤🙏
Thanks for your support Kreative KB, I appreciate you 🙏
Amen.
Almost there
Oh he will soon !! He does a great job 👏🏼
You look now!boom
Love your tutorials, they're always so well explained, very simple and yet very effective. I particularly appreciate when the shots are handheld and without fancy camera accessories because you can't always walk around with a backpack full of camera gear.
Great video! It's amazing at just how much better and clearer a shot can be by slowing down the camera movement, especially "noisy" subject matter like rocks & plants.
Itˋ's so easy !! Now I just have to keep your tips in my head and implement them. Thanks so much for your tutorials. Greetings from Cologne, Germany
You’re very welcome Erika ☺️🎥👌
Steve, fantastic lesson! You make it so easy to see the errors and how to correct them. Love your channel!
Steve: "Boring location. There's nothing but this tree and this rock." Meanwhile me: "Oh, what a nice camping site! And with bouldering possibility even!" :D
*Outstanding! What Steve does and how he does it never ceases to amaze me. It takes a lot of imagination to create this among what appears to be a burial ground for large boulders. I've been playing around with my iPhone and cameras... I wish I had a phone and cloud storage space dedicated solely to video recordings. As usual, an excellent product. Take care.*
I have been watching your videos for a while now and I have been applying the techniques you show and my videos have gotten way better. I record my hiking and backpacking trips and looking at my footage now compared to a year ago is like night and day. I look at everything in a more creative way. Now I can take a somewhat boring shot and turn it into gold by adding different angles and movement. You are a great teacher and your videos are easy to put into practice and I look forward to watching more. Thanks Steve.
harika tavsiyeler, önceki ve sonraki gösteri sayesinde tavsiye ve rehberliği anlamayı çok daha kolay hale getirdi
Thank you for your advice! I've already used some inputs for my last video, and the results were STUNNING! THANKS A LOT!!!!!
You know your craft very well. Well thought out narrative by using contrast to highlight the correct way. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience. I particularly like this segment by how well you demonstrated an outcome without the aid of another tool.
I can't believe you're doing more than this professional I think you're going to be an extra professional creator I just want to say that you're amazingly creative actually describing your work No words to do 🥰🌹
Outstanding! I’m consistently amazed with what Steve does and how he does it. To produce this amongst what looks like a burial ground for large boulders is absolute creativity. I’ve been experimenting with my iPhone and my cameras. ...I wish I had a separate phone and cloud space just for video recordings. Awesome product as usual. Be well.
You are fantastic! I know nothing about cameras, filmmaking or anything related but want to start making interesting videos capturing my travels for my family, and I know that by watching your videos my videos will be so much better than they could have been 😊
Beginner: "Hey, look how I'm enjoying my vacation!" Creative: "I'm filming a movie here!" IMO the creative had a totally different atmosphere from a tourist on vacation. I'm Mr. Boring but I feel it would have much more "vacation/tourism spirit" depth with slower movement of the camera and more relaxing music rather than high beat dramatic one. :) Thanks for the tips, those will be helpful
Extremely useful video. It was so clear, no fuss, I like the fact that it’s so straight to the point and so easy to follow through and understand. Would love to see more videos like this. Thanks so much. :)
Большое спасибо за Вашу работу! По больше таких видео, где вы показываете свои приёмы съёмки, они помогают взглянуть свежим взглядом и даже кое что применять в своих работах! )))
согласен
One of the best channels for learning how to shoot videos I have seen! I am a motion design student at uni for this semester (last subject for a Diploma of Graphic Design) and I am guilty of being the boring eye-level videographer! Not anymore, such great tips and that edit with sound you did and those great transitions was superb. Really grateful for this channel and your commitment to creating such instructive content. Awesome!
From 4:23 on how to move your camera during the individual short vids and link them to make a longer film is gorgeous, thanks!
it is amazing that you get these wonderful shots done just with a phone!
Excellent! Love these techniques, always watch a few times and take notes. Thanks for the knowledge 🎉
I love that you show yourself getting the shots then the shot. Super helpful!!
That’s crazy!!!! I’ve learned so much from your videos and can’t wait to put it to good use this weekend!
Another perfect video of you. I love all of these and your helpful tips for me as a beginner. You even manage to make an epic film out of two rocks and a tree.
All I've ever learnt about video Editing is because you. Thank you much !!!.
Thanks for teaching us this tips!!!! Really useful!
I love your tutorials! Thanks a lot for all your tips
Brilliant video Steve, thanks for posting this!
I've tried using your techniques I've been learning ill admit my videos are much better but I'm having trouble with shakiness, and moving smoothly and evenly hoping with practice ill get better. Thanks for all you do
This is the best one in Yuletide that teach KZheaders to start up their channel ever. Thanks a lot for everything you have done.
Great video mate, thank you so much for sharing!
Awesome content! Could you maybe have a follow up on the editing and thought process of pulling it all together into a visual story?
I have no word to describe how useful your tips are! I love your work. Best regards, from Brazil!
This was incredibly helpful. Thank you.
As always Steve thank you 🙏 I am learning from a lot from professional filmmakers and your videos are amazing thank you for sharing your in depth techniques and diffrent styles of genres of capturing film 🎥

Good work sir!!!
Another great video. I love the way you explain and demonstrate the technics. Now I just need motivation. 🥴😎
Excellent tips! Super stoked to give these a try real soon! Thanks for sharing.
Amazing! This is very helpful. Thanks a lot mate!
Thank you so much for sharing such great tips in such a fun, easy to understand, straight to the point way. I loved this video and also loved that the "no no" sound effect isnt too loud, however the "red arrow" high pitch sound effect is significantly too loud in my opinion. Amazing video regardless thanks again and please keep going!
Brilliant. The final edit looked great, the music added to the build up
Steve, I've learned more in a few minutes than in hours with other video lessons. I wish you 1M subscribers!
Love both the fact that your videos have amazing content AND they're all shot locally to me. So I watch them thinking..."ooo that's cool...hey I recognise that tor!"
The final result is mind-blowing, loved it!
Brilliant video, thanks for so many great tips!
Such a joy to watch the creative video edit! Raise your hand if you’re a beginner and have learned so much from this. Thank you so much.
im a music producer since years back and now i want to add video and photo to my music these tips just made me realise how big this world is and im very excited to get in to it thx great vid 🌬
Totally different perspective! It's much better! Thank you.
That’s not even a boring place. I love greens and that place is so relaxing, and calming. I want to have a little picnic there! Lovely shots! Now, I’m trying to practice with your techniques. Thanks!
I am always awed by how simple you make it to understand :) Thank you!
It’s amazing thank you so much for your creative learning 😍🥰
Love it. Need more. Thank you!
Thank you for your time mate! Though my videos shooting will mostly be indoor and of my boring face, I will incorporate some of your cinematic technics to my living room. It might work. Thanks!
Thank you, Steve! Will try to use your recommendations with my next video. I like most of examples, just not sure that blurred one is good
As always amazing advices that open my mind to try new shoots.. Best channel to learn.. Thanks for your efforts!
Absolutely love these videos!
Holy, this was seriously one of the most useful videos I have seen in a very long time! I'll be starting a travel KZhead channel soon and will so be using these tips when shooting! Thank you so much!
Can't believe I went this long without knowing these tips!! Sometimes I would try to go low cause it felt good but didn't know there's some "science" behind that haha. Thanks so much!
Excellent tutorial, very useful tips and well illustrated. Thank you for sharing.
Brilliant tips.. simple camera with right movement and angle, we can get amazing results.. Thank you.
Great tips and techniques. Thanks for the easy breakdowns.
Hey Steve, your videos are pure gold for us that want to start with mobile filmmaking. Quality tips well explained. Maybe I've missed it, but can you do some videos evaluating additional lens for phones? All the best from Serbia and keep it up!
This is the BEST suggestion KZhead has given me till date!! What a great knowledge 😍👌🏼👌🏼
Thanks KZhead and thanks for watching ☺️
OMG. Call me 'Boring Girl'. LOL. Now I know how to shoot (not boring) videos! Thank you for the tips and tricks.
Brillant full watch and I learnt heaps, thanks for pointing out how boring I am!!👍😀💯
Trying not to be Miss Boring! It's so important to try unusual angels, and with filming I really like the reveal shot. Thank you for a fun and educational channel!
Great video as always! Thanks for sharing.
Super cool tips! thank you so much!
Loved all the tips. With that cinematic music I felt like you just needed like an army or something in the valley 🤣😂 great stuff, gonna try and link more of my shots in the future.
Nice video and great suggestions. One thing I would do differently here is try to keep the same kind of movements as mr boring. If he does a pan, show us how to make that pan shot more interesting instead of doing something completely different. If he walks forwards at eye level and moving the camera up and down with his motion, show us how to make a great push in or out shot that looks better. That way, I would feel like the examples where you switch between mr boring and great shots actually connect. Now it feels like you want to show us one thing and use a random different thing for mr boring. Still, I get the message and love your ideas. And that environment, while seemingly boring, it’s still looking great compared to where I live. All we have here is fields of grass. No rocks and very few trees. 😉
I'm in tears the words "bloody boring" now i learned a lot of ideas from this amazing opportunity to improve my vlogs....a million thanks
Thank you very much for all of your videos and the effort you put into them.
You give great tutorials my man!!!! Very simple and to the point.what video editing app would you recommend for not only iphone but android as well? Thanks!
I've learned about how to make cool shoots in 10 minutes than in a 1 week online course to tell me how to turn on the camera! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
