    • His action also sends a strong message about the current government there. I'm not too familiar with the current government in Croatia, but why would the government give the money to him instead of supporting the Croatian healthcare system directly? He did the right thing.

    • @@ScoutOnly You are partially correct. In Croatia, athletes or performers who get exceptional results while representing Croatia are financially rewarded. Why? Because while competing, they are doing something for the country. They're good advertising for the country and when you're a country that depends on tourism as much as Croatia, that is a huge deal. Trust me, Croatia will profit a lot more from Baby Lasagna's success than the reward amount. However, there was no amount of money planned by the government for the second place in Eurovision. And they had to vote to use the tax payer's money for this reward. And BL refused because he is real. He knows that the money is needed elsewhere and he gave it up and told them exactly where to use it, even though he is far from being rich. Whereas our football team (and all of them are richy rich) never refused their reward. So, yes. He did the right thing. And it speaks volumes about the kind of person he is. Normal, down to earth, socially aware and real.

  • PLEASE Europe, vote for this and let it win! Baby Lasagna would be the best Eurovision winner of all time and Croatia deserve their first win! BL also wrote and produced the song himself. It's about braindrain in Croatia and how young people are sadly leaving their country due to country corruption and economic problems! Genuinely a brilliant song and performed in a brilliant way given Marco here hadn't performed a single song vocally until this year! I will literally cry if Croatia wins! Lots of Love from the UK!
