  • For a couple cents you can get a 5v USB power module (charging module) that will work perfectly fine with 9v in 5v out. You just hook the battery plug right up to it. It's far simpler, requires much fewer parts, is easier, is more efficient and is much less likely to damage the device you're powering/charging. It would also have a true DC power source, which this one doesn't because of the nature of producing electricity directly from a generator/motor (without a rectifier). I don't know that last statement to be an absolute fact, but I'd bet that hooking it up an oscilloscope would show that it's more like an AC power source than a DC power source (which could damage any devices you power with it or more likely could damage the batteries of any device you power with it). Hope you forgive the rant. It looks like a fun project to build, but I just hope people don't copy it and then damage their phone or tablet they paid $100's for (or any other device).

  • I don't understand the purpose of the first invention. Couldn't you have directly connected the 9v battery to the 5v dc-dc boost connector and then charge it?

    • Yes, first device totally useles.... But boost coverter and 9 volts sounds danger for smartphone. In this case, i I will try disasembly 9 volts battery usaly it consist from litle cells, and use its separetly

    • @NinjaTheGamerツ ale robienie ładowarki w ten sposób jest bez sensu. Można normalnie zrobić prosty stabilizator i całość była by w ładnej obudowie i o 3/4 mniejsza xd te silniczki generują tylko straty bo nie mają przecież 100% sprawności

  • Why not just go straight from 9v to the 5vc dc-dc converter? I was thinking maybe current would be too high and the motors suck up some current but thej why not just add resistors? Or can the converter not take more than 5v and so you're using the motor to motor voltage generation since it inherenty reduces voltage due to being inefficient? Someone help me out here, what am i missing?

  • La idea 1 esaltamente ineficiente ya que el motor consumira gran parte de la energia y el otro motor no esta pensado para generar electrecidad, lo mejor es usar una recistencia para reducir wl voltage de 9 a 5 voltios o usar un circuito que limite el pso de corriente a 5 v
