Possibly because I sat at it for Christmas lunch from the time I was small, and used to roll the billiard balls across the felt when I was only just as tall as the table. Or maybe it was when the table came to our house to live for awhile. It is a 3/4 size table, with four large wooden panels - two ends, two middles - that cover the table and turn it into a dining table. These panels slide into two drop-down ridged panels underneath the table so one can play pool. The dining chairs had to be specially made because the table is higher than a normal dining table.
