I watch a number of video tutorials. Your way of creating while teaching is the absolute best. Thank you and please keep going!
Ah thank you, so glad you liked it. I'm very much a 'learn by doing' person so I hope seeing it in practice is useful for people. Plus if you don't want to listen to my waffle you can watch a page process still🤣
You left out fabric! 😀 One of my favorite to glue to a page. Also a little bit of plastic even. When I cut the 1" or so off the top ,say a chip bag I use it for a tab. They come in great colours are double thick ( so sturdy) and it's recycling a plastic that doesn't get recycled in my area.🩷🇨🇦
Ooh how fun!
She mentioned fabric at 2:00
@@JFStuart04 thanks I must have missed it! 👍😊
You have by far become one of my fav youtubers to watch. This is how I unwind from a tence day
Thanks for the tips. I keep lots of packaging and leaflets and things. Also, I went to B&Q the other day to get somethings to repair my shower enclosure so I scavenged a few samples of wall paper. I am always flirting with the idea of having feature walls in some of my rooms, but also I can use the samples for my collages
oooooh I am a sucker for wallpaper samples! And the paint cards too! I actually picked up a concertina booklet of paint colours that I’ve been meaning to alter into a journal
Oooh! A POST-IT note as a paint plopper! Neat idea!
They also make fun background collage pieces if you let them dry! :)
@@megjournals Thank you. I am TRYING to learn how to collage.😏
Thank you for these simple tips. I struggle with just getting that first item on the page, but once that’s done things seem to take care of themselves.❤

I have a hard time with looking at paper with text on it as being abstract enough to perceive it as a decorative item; like I feel that the words have to relate to the pictures. How do I free my mind up so my thinking isn’t so rigid?
Turn it upside down so you can’t read it! That way your eye isn’t drawn to it :)
Another way is to use text in a language you don't speak, especially if the writing system is different. You can find foreign newspapers and magazines, or even print something off the internet, then scruff up the paper with crumpling, adding paint, coffee-staining etc. Online, you can use a translator to get a rough idea of the subject matter, if you are worried that the content might be unsuitable.
Are the books you use glued or stitched. In the US I'm having trouble finding stitched books!!
Stitched! I find that binding is more sturdy especially with any paint :)
Do you plan on finishing the page?
It’s finished! 😃
What is the difference between master board and colleges
My understanding is that a masterboard is more of a ‘format’, the big sheet that you collage onto and then cut apart for cards etc. Whereas collage is the more general term for paper arranging as a stand alone finished piece, which you can do in art journals, junk journals etc. At least that’s what I think, hope that helps! :)
Thank you. That always confused me. They look the same to me
@@Imjinks64.To me a master board is made on a piece of paper where you glue down random bits to make a background, covering the whole sheet of paper completely. Then you cut it up for cards, postcards, tags, journaling cards etc. You can add a focal image on top of the cut up master board piece to finish it. So master board = background. A collage to me is a finished piece, usually in an art journal or on a canvas maybe. You may or may not cover the art journal page totally with bits and pieces. And there’s usually a focal point to finish it. For me, my collages are not cut up like backgrounds. Collage loosely = finished piece. Pretty sure this is the long winded version of what Meg said lol
@@MessyPaperCrafter Great explanation!! :)
This is so fun. I just came back from a Mixed Media Retreat with @Caseyturner and @godsgirlangie.
