I know because I do it for my father too who has kidney failure. Yes Makayla deals with a lot but I'm sure she appreciates her sister getting some of the love too.

I REALLY appreciate that you shared the previous video, Makayla. Being genuine means sometimes displaying negative emotions in public and it’s all good. We all take turns at this. You’ve gone from showcasing your physical ability at things most can’t do to struggling physically at things most can do. You’ve got a great handle on humility. It’s going to take work to focus sufficiently on assets vs liabilities. This technological world will likely help. I’m rather glad we’re not living during, well, most any other of the centuries. Emotions and feelings can be a rollercoaster when your newly injured/disabled, acceptance can fluctuate and it's really important that we can show that that is ok,we dont need to be anybody's inspiration or feel like we have to be happy all the time,I'm sure most people have us and downs x But I do love her attitude and trying new things x
@@Julie-si3hi Yes, she’s remarkable. There was recently a tornado outbreak in Kentucky, killing several people and destroying homes and businesses. I’m familiar, too, with the randomness of tragedy and how acceptance of a new and seemingly unfair reality can test anyone. The many blessings I’ve received in life are perhaps also unfair, but hardly questioned. Gratitude is something that I embrace and encourage. “Why me?” is a very difficult concept. “Why not?” is not how we want to answer. And then there’s survivor’s guilt, when others are hurt or lost and it can be very tough for someone who is fine or still alive to ask those same two questions. Everyone has assets and liabilities. I’m praying for her to honestly assess both. She reminds me of Sophia Malthus, a New Zealander who’s about 5 years older and was thrown from her horse in 2019. Her story is on the Attitude YT channel. And Soph & Indy channel. I learned of her a couple of years ago and couldn’t get over how impressive was her attitude and family. I didn’t expect to see both again. I was wrong. 👏🏻🤗
Makayla, I'm also a girl who has a bad spinal cord injury and some of the exact same health issues you do. I'm 30 though. I lost 15 years to self-pity, anger, and spinning thoughts. I love, love this video! My daughter, Morgan, and I baked together when she was young. Now my 4 year old granddaughter, Nora, and I bake together. We also share the love of chocolate dipped strawberries. I have taught her how to do them. My kids also love to eat the cookie dough. Great memories are made in my kitchen. You inspire me to keep baking.

I have a younger brother that got me through my recovery after a bad accident. There are no words to describe how that connection drives your forward. They are the best cheer section ever. In your makeup video I thought it was really nice and brave that you left in your anger and upset with not being able to do what you want to without needing someone else. Regarding the makeup video- a suggestion: adding a magnet to your hand cuff as well as to the brushes for you to grab to applying your make-up. If you have a OT, they maybe able to assist with adaptive it for you. Good job on the cookies

A tip on the cookies, there is a certain order that you have to do the ingredients in. For instance, you mix the butter and the sugars together first on like medium speed until they are creamy. Then add the eggs and vanilla and any other liquid ingredients. Finally, add the flour, baking soda, salt, etc and only mix until combined. At the end, add the chips. I couldn't tell for sure but I think you have have just put everything in at once. Also, make sure your butter is soft before you start. If it's too cold, it won't mix with the sugar very well.
It was microwaved into mostly liquid, so maybe that's why it didn't mix up into the normal creamy texture? I'm no baker though lol 😂

Different situation, but some inspiration for u…My son was born 3 mos. early, at 1lb, 4oz…At 3 mos. old, the doctors told us there was no hope & we should remove support & let him pass. We knew they were wrong so we transferred him to a different hospital for another opinion. Today he’s almost 10yrs old and doing great…Long story short, Don’t ever let anyone tell u what u can or cannot do. Work hard, keep the faith & never give up hope! Hi Makayla! This was so awesome! I've commented before that I'm an OT assistant and during my therapy sessions I baked so many things with my patients. baking idea: Have y'all considered baking by weight? I love it because I don't need measuring cups and spoons. You just put the mixing bowl on the scale and you can scoop the ingredients directly into the bowl. Takes out a step. Love seeing you hang with your sister.

You could look at a cutting board that has spikes and such to hold stuff. Usually marketed as a one handed cutting board (for CVA etc) but may help you as well
