What if Starter Pokemon had branched evolutions? This is a concept we've seen with other Pokemon in games like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but it's never been applied to Starter Pokemon to this point. I think this is something that would be amazing to see personally, so in this video I will be creating my own branched evolutions for various starters like Charizard, Inteleon, and Meganium, to show what this concept could look like if it actually happened!

I like Charequest the best out of all three shown here! The design is great and I wouldn't mind picking this over Charizard since the latter has been a choice that overshadows most other starter Pokemon when it comes to which one is the best choice or the most popular Pokemon. Great thinking on the name as it made me think about knights going on quests which is something most people would agree on. Serathorn doesn't look too bad (better than Meganium's looks), though I would choose a different route on keeping the branched evo a sauropod rather than a theropod. I thought you would make Bardeleon a Water/Ghost type like how I've seen many other artists who have drawn their predictions for Inteleon before it was announced. Also I thought you were gonna show four branched starters like you did in the first branched evolution video.

For Serathorn, I think going back to the concept of Primal Reversion is a good idea. Since all or at least of the gimmick increased in data storage size. Mega, Giga and Tera They go for Milli, Centi or Nano for this one. The concept is that through something called Nanoium, certain Pokémon can awaken dormant primal genes via the Evolutionary Matrix

I mean, conceptually I love the idea of Charequest, but personally I think it could be refined. I'd have it look less mechanical and have more of an "its scales form its armour" look going on, replace the clunky blade tail with a scaly tail where the scales form a kind of polearm blade at the tip to make it into a lance of some kind, giving it more mobility and making it feel less clunky and cumbersome, and more functional. Could even maintain the tail flame of the other Char-pokemon by making the scale blades emit flames for extra rule of cool points. I'd also give its head more of a roman knight helmet kind of look made up of its scales with a slow transition to the Charmeleon point on the back of its head, and have a few vents in that point from which the flames spew out, recreating the feathered plume of flames effect in place of or as well as the tail flame of the other pokemon in the line, but in a way that looks more natural than the burning black stick on the current Charequest design. Finally, I would give it either a sword and shield fashioned from its own scales, OR I would give it some kind or expandable scale plating on one or both arms to act as a shield and maybe something that could function similarly to a knight's sword on its body, though honestly how to implement the latter idea visually I have no idea, and personally would probably choose the fashioned the shield and sword from its own scales option first. I'd definitely keep the fire/steel typing, though, as that is really great for a parallel pokemon to the fire/flying Charizard.

Charquest is a great branch evolution idea! I like the combination of a knight and a dragon, it’s a very interesting concept, one that I can see in actual gameplay. Plus, it reminds me of Mega Sceptile, who uses its tail as a weapon/defense mechanism.

Dude, you totally sold me out for Serathorn! I love every aspect you've mentioned, including the design; it all makes complete sense in my eyes and I would LOVE to have it! I even guessed the type combo before you revealed it and my guess was right. As well as all the other guesses, but for the other two designs, they were more visible in their designs, such as the feminine look of Drizzile's new branch evo and even the steel type in Charequest's look. As for the actual Fakémon themselves, I don't like if some gender-neutral Pokémon looks more masculin or more feminine, because in my stupid brain it is automatically tied with not-as-neutral-as-it-should-be category. What I can tell, is the brilliant idea for Charequest's name. Btw., the “equestris” part of the name of Anolis equestris could potentially evoke a horse (or even zebra; I believe both are named “equus” scientifically), which also can further enhanced Charequest's “knight” theme, because knights are usually associated with horses…

Bardeleon is my favorite branched evolution in this collection also to evolve it I think that you need to level up your Drizzile while having it hold a Big Pearl since it looks like Bardeleon is holding a pearl made of water 😍💧

These alt evolutions could be a result of locations. Taking your starter to specific locations will help them evolve into their alternate forms as a result of adapting to a specific environment, like the Hisuian forms.

I would work with Items for these branched evolution: To evolve Bayleaf to Serathorn, it has to hold the item: Ancient Skull, a fossilized item of an unknown prehistoric pokémon that activates old dormant genes in certain pokémon to evolve different. To evolve Drizzle to Bardeleon (or a name I read below that would also be cool Bardelisk), it has to hold the item: Poet's Plume, an antique item of a medival pokémon trainer, which an uncanny ability to "inspire" his pokémon towards creative endeavours. To evolve Charmeleon to Charequest, it has to hold the item: Knight's Crest, another antique, often given from father to son, mother to daughter and is said to unlock chivalry and bravery in both pokémon and trainer.
I loved Serathorn! Really like how meganium jave mostly delicate energy and Serathorn is more of a fierce energy. It's a shame people don't like Meganium that much, Chikoeita is my favourite Pokémon and I love how simple and elegant Meganium is, it gives me such a nostalgia from back then! Great work ❤

If the Kanto starters get regional forms (pretty much the only form they haven't got) giving them a different final form would be perfect. I even have my own ideas . Grass/Fairy Bulbasaur with a mushroom instead, becoming a more literal case of a fairy toadstool . Fire/Poison Charmander that is more salamander like, including a quadruped final form. Poison has been associated with dragons and they already did the obvious types . Water/Normal Squirtle that becomes Water/Psychic from then on, meant to represent the wise tortoise trope (they had their chance to retcon Blastoise the Steel type when they introduced it and they never took it, so their loss)
Meganium is and always will be one of the most beautiful designs ever. Just wish it could be a bit stronger.

I think Charmelard for the intelion branch evolution would be good. Its charm for Cameleon and charm. The lard part would also be from lizard and the ard part could refer to a bard of sorts.
The branch evo for the Sobble line is perfect. No notes. I could not improve it in any way no matter how hard I tried. I like a lot of the concepts of Charequest, but I don't like the design itself. I'd honestly love branched evolutions for Cinderace and Meowscarada.
Maybe Cinderace's branched evo could be a bulky Fire/Electric Pokemon based on a goalkeeper with the Volt Absorb Hidden ability (to block Electro Balls from going into the goals, or may be Flash Fire to block opposing Pyro Balls). Meowscarada could be a Grass/Fairy type, because Fairy magic or something.
Chikorita evolve into Serathorn if it's attack EVs are above 150 when reaching level 32, so it needs a very contious training to reach this form.

I think Charequest has a awesome design and it works great as a branched evolution. I would still pick the original counterparts over there branched evolutions. Yes I would definitely like to see branched evolutions happen for starter Pokemon someday.
I think something that would be neat for the ones that can end up as fighting types, like serathorn, for the difference to be whether or not you actively use it in battle or if it got the exp from exp share. If it evolves after actively using it in battle, it becomes Serathorn, if it evolves from passively being in your party, it's Meganium. Idk, might be interesting 🤷♀️
Let's be real, nobody would have any issues with Meganium if Johto wasn't literally the worst possible region to be a Grass type. I've used it in other regions and it works just fine.

Give the middle stage pokemon an attack from the 3rd stage final evolution (i.e. Bayleef a fighting and a grass attack that are exactly the same for damage and no other buffs...) When middle stage is ready to evolve... it will branch evolve into the final stage that has the element of the attack you used more!

Maybe you can have bayleef to survive half hp or just give it a fighting type plate with the level it evolves at. But I would like to see more Pokémon evolutions that use items, new moves or you can maybe make do a certain enough damage to make evolution into its branch evolution 👍. Keep up the good work hope we see more of these branched videos.

I love the concept of Charequest.
I think gamefreak would probably use the region its located in being the reasoning for the alternate evolution. Thats how they finally gave us a explanation for the safari zone in kanto seeing as all those pokemon were imported from distant regions and because of environment adaptation we got the kantonian forms.slowpoke far-fetch etc. and although they ended up labeling the new versions regional forms in actually the kanto forms were always the alternative forms we just knew nothing of these distant regions in the original yellow red and blue versions.
I think an interesting idea for these spilt Evos, woudk be if the were stronger, biy harder to get. Like around the tiem your starter is supposed to evolve into its third evolution, you would get an optional side quest, It would be a trial you snd your Pokémon would hsve to go through, sort of like what they did with Kubfu. This trial would be difficult, but it would reward you with a much stronger starter
I love Charequest and i get that the flames resemble the feathers on a knights helmet, but i think those are a littel too much. Lorewise how about it use its blade to protect its flame while it can use his flame to heat up the blade to make it flexible and stronger.
Maybe these starters could evolve with a move, like having Bayleef learn frenzy plant or something

Don’t get me wrong I think these designs are really cool. I love how you put effort into the name as well as the dual type into the design as well. The only flaw I have in these designs is that I don’t see how bayleaf would evolve into serathorn or charmeleon can evolve into charequest. However, I do like how these two contrast with their real evolutions. I feel like they could be the final evolved forms in their own evolutionary lines. Maybe charequest can have a pre evolved form that can be similar to Charmander but have a flame on its head instead of on its tail. Serathorn can also have a pre evolved form that looks more like a carnivore dinosaur And share its darker green color scheme.
Honestly, branch evolutions are interesting, As for how to become the other final evolution should be based on the Pokémon’s nature.

These Branch Evolutions are wonderful, and here are my answers: A Male Bayleef Evolves into Serathorn at level 38 while holding a Thorn Necklace around it's neck & while a Female Bayleef evolves into Meganium as per usual, Bardeleon sounds ok, but Shakeleon sounds better with Combined of Shakespeare & Chameleon, & Charequest looks amazing & Charizard still looks Cool. Do a part 3, please.
For the: Charequest It actually looks more like an evolved form from a: Charmeleon Like for when it goes Rogue , but it should have 4 Types. They are: Dragon , Fire , Steel and Dark So it would be more as a: Serious Knight That really takes its duties very seriously and gets it done really fast. But if I’m a Pokémon Trainer and I’m out and about , but if I somehow come across that Pokémon. I really would love to be its Trainer. And having it on my side it’d be great , cuz that way we’d do all kinds of things for the good for all people.

Serathorn: Yeah, I'm going to be real: Serathorn is worse designed than Meganium. By attempting so hard to move away from its "plain and boring" design, you made its design arguably MORE plain and boring by adhering to the Gen 1-4 mentality of final evolution of "cute base form to cool final form" Meganium being the exception for. Serathorn looks less like a Chikorita evolution and more like its own standalone Pokemon or a Ancient Paradox or the original form of the Draco Fossil. I will never choose this form over Meganium. Bardeleon: Okay, that's more like it: theater kid to Shakespeare-inspired bard. Makes a lot of sense, and it being Fairy-type holds the connection very well. Design would need to get used to. Charequest: HOLY CRUD the artist really cooked here! It on the thumbnail was kind of alright, but that sword tail got me. I love me some swords. Fire/Steel is also a great typing in general and would earn a lot of popularity.

If Charequest was real, I'd definitely pick it over Charizard. I like Charizard, but Charequest fits my taste better. I matches up with the evolution from Charmeleon better than Charizard, too, in my opinion.
I have two names for bardeleon Speareptil from shakeSPEARE, spear because of the pen fin and reptile or dramelavon from drama, chameleon and avon from bard of avon

I dont know if it is the frill or the curled tail, but Bardeleon seems too busy and clashes pretty harshly. Maybe lessen the neck frills a bit? I dont know. The tail feels like a Lickitung tail more than a Sobble line continuation, maybe have it wrap around the waist like a belt? Maybe the frill flares when attacking? Im not sure what would help here.
Held item to allow for choiced evolution, instead of Bardeleon perhaps Bardemus, and for Charizard I'd have turned it into a Koopa like Bowser making it an armored dragon so it's type would be Fire/Dragon.

As usual I have notes, but their mostly positive this time around Serathorn I have issue with because it's carnivore like disposition feels like a mutation than an evolution when compared to the rest of the evolution line. However I think this could work depending on it's evolution method, like an item that messes with it's DNA or something like that Bardeleon I have no complaints, and don't think you need to change things. I think the name is good, the frills that stick up to become some collar (I imagine that when down it's more akin to a cloak or cape). I think psychic type would also work with this, so giving it some psychic moves is a suggestion to keep in mind when if you plan on giving it a move set Charequest is the one that is the most off-putting to me, namely due to it's tail. Not only did you get rid of the flame tail, but how you designed the sword tail feels really awkward. I would make the tail skin section longer and shorten the length of the blade section while not changing the overall size of the tail. I would also add a flame to the crossguard section of the tail while keeping it smaller than the plume like flame on the head (I do think that helps with that knight theme). Though I guess another method that would fix things if if it evolved through a DNA scrambling method like what I suggested with Serathorn
I feel like Meganium would have fitted the fairy type if they had the type in gen 2 or added it when gen 6 came around.

Inteleon isn’t based on movies, it’s supposed to be actual spies, like if James Bond and the like were real IRL.
The alt Charizard is kind of cool because it looks a lot like Chameleon, but I don't understand the Alt Meganium? Why would a herbivore long neck Dino evolve into another larger herbivore long neck, and then become a velociraptor....?? I like Meganium, it's pretty basic but not horrible. Its biggest issue in the games was the lack of interesting moves, and its stats are to balanced so it does't particularly excel at anything. I have seen some cool designs that just add the needed detail to Meganium along with rock, ground, or fairy typing.
Serathron really should look a lot better than it looks now. If it is a Grass and Fighting Type. Then um it’s gloves really should be pointing forwards not backwards , but um if it is a Grass Type then um how will it use its own Grass Attacks. ???

Ok the meganium one is a huge miss. Intelleon and charizard fit their prevo. But serathorn not bayleaf. I would have made it a stego with shuriken like leafblades on its back and head. And a small leafneak thing like on maganium.
