I started a Mobile Detailing business while in high school to make side money. Over time my passion grew, and so did my business skills. Today I own the largest detailing company in my town, all while taking college classes online. My thesis, simple businesses have the power to create life changing wealth, when done right. And I can prove it.

How simply did YOU start your detailing business?
The wife tryna teach me how to deal with leather. And you gloss over leather conditioner is a scam..plz, details. So we can all be educated =] Edit figured you'd get around to it But the moment has passed. I'll just tell her I did it like.she said to. How do you handle headliners? (Example:.multi year smoker car with multiple instances of getting wet from sunroof leaving tabacco/waterline stain) Probably worst kind of stain, yes? I assume use more care.than you do on carpet Scuff marks. Looks like dirt but isn't. Advanced leather stains, and lack of.care where the leather is super dry. Pro tips on unusual situations Um, good.job, thanks !
I respect the hustle young man. Here’s a few things I’d like to point out to help you out (judging by the look of the area, you’re probably in Leander or cedar park, and I support fellow Texans) 1. Leather conditioner is not a scam. It’s job is not to protect leather, it’s to moisturize and make it last longer. Remember, leather is skin, and just like our skin, it needs moisture and hydration to prevent cracking, wrinkles, etc. the goal is to extend the life of the leather to prevent this. Now a new car most likely won’t need a leather conditioner since most new leather in vehicles nowadays is coated. Older vehicles will need this. Meguiars sells a really good one, or Leatherique is really good too. 2. Try to avoid spraying products directly onto the surface if it isn’t carpet, especially on the door switches. Spray onto a rag and wipe, or spray into your brush, then agitate. That moisture is going to wear out and ruin those switches over time. 3. Same for glad, avoid spraying directly into the surface. Also, don’t forget to roll down that window and clean the edge to fully clean the window, and don’t forget to flip the rag over to the dry side and buff out the product. 4. Remember, less is more. Your approach to cleaning the carpets is great, but don’t oversaturate them with product. 5. Try not to use sharp objects like that to clean perforated seats. Compressed air works just fine, or a fine (soft) bristle brush. You don’t want to run the risk of tearing the seats with that, no matter how careful you are. Also, same goes for seats, especially perforated ones in high end/luxury vehicles. I’m assuming that vehicle had heated or ventilated seats, which means there’s electronics in there. Moisture is not a friend to electronics. 6. Get a rubber mat (even a yoga mat works fine) mat to clean carpeted floor mats. Avoid putting them on the concrete. Can even get those cheap, foam puzzle piece mats and that works too. 7. GLOVES, GLOVES, GLOVES. Can’t stress this enough. If it’s on you, it’s in you. Overall, great technique and methods. I especially love that you clean the vehicle from back to front. I find this to be the best method so you don’t miss anything, and you end in the drivers seat in case you need to move the vehicle. I wish you well in your detailing journey.
Thank you so much for all of this information! I'm going to look into these things and implement some of them. And you're right lol, live in Leander. Where are you? You seem to know the area pretty darn well!
@@HudsonArcher_Details no thanks needed man. I’m always happy to share information I learned along the way to help out. I’m currently in Los Angeles, but I was a roofing contractor in Leander/Austin/Cedar Park/Hutto, central Texas in general. Actually looking to move back to the area, so I’ll keep you in mind for detailing. I’d recommend even trying to hit up some of the roofing businesses to get customers out of them. Kangaroof has a pretty large fleet, Newruf also has a few trucks, Coast to Coast Contractors, etc. Probably will work best to sell exterior washes, and skip the interior with most of them (inside of a contractor truck is usually going to stay messy and they’re particular about their stuff inside). I know image is important to a lot of the roofing businesses so you could try it out. Coast to Coast is in Leander so you could start there. Newruf, in hutto might be a good deal. Mike, the owner is a bit of an ass, but the man is all about image (he’ll try and buckle and dime you, but just hold firm on your pricing). Any tips or help ever wanted, just holler.
@@Isadore These are amazing ideas, if you have instagram, please send me a DM to @hudarcher. I'd love to connect and get some more insight about the roofing business!
@@HudsonArcher_Details I don’t have instagram. Do you have any other socials?
Automobile leather isn't real, hide leather. It's a form of plastic that is dyed, and coated with another plastic coating. The way to keep it looking good isn't by using leather conditioners, it's by keeping it clean, and being mindful how you're sitting in it to prevent cracking.

Informative video, Hudson, thank you. Your on-camera presentation style is great. Well done.
This is a fantastic video. I really appreciate that there’s not a ton of extra fluff and you get straight to the point. Definitely will put some of these tips to use!
You have good energy man. Well done
Watched this after hundreds of detailing videos deserved a subscription hope you keep doing well and I hope to start my business soon
I love your style mate van looks very neat and straight to the point woth your point! I love that well done and good luck
Thank you sir, branding is key
Great video man I’ve ordered my van and it’s coming soon Your videos are very inspiring
That was the best video ever on KZhead so informative and to the point emmy award winner !
It doesn’t take more than 10 minutes to explain how to do an interior, don’t know why so many Detailing KZheadrs make them so long & full of useless fluff 🤷🏼♂️
This video is great. We all appreciate it, keep goin man!
Thank you very much sir! What sort of content would you like to see next?
@@HudsonArcher_Details I think the structure of your services and how you priced them at first. For example should there be different levels to an exterior and interior wash or just one. Would it always include a clay bar or iron remover. Should sealents be added or be an upsale for the wax. And how do you get customers interested in maybe graphene or even ceramic coatings if you offer it. Paint corrections and things like that. This is the only piece I have left to fully learn because I feel I have the actual process and knowledge of the service down. I just need to refine my pricing and efficiency. I know it’s a lot. Sorry
@@broken2550 haha no worries! this is exactly the feedback i need.. video coming soon to address these topics
hey man like your energy, great vid!

You are the best 👌 love this video ❤

Watching all the way from the British Virgin Islands. Great video! You got yourself a sub.
well thank you sir! i appreciate it! what’s the detailing scene like on the islands?
Came across ur page and checked out ur other videos and great stuff. Crazy to believe ur just 17 cause u sound & look way mature for 17. Keep it up homie. I'm double ur age but keep bein boss man, ur business so older ppl will work for u (from ur other video) so don't let these old heads keep u from goin up. Great videos!
Appreciate you brother 🙌🏻
Very nice editing and narrative content. You really have confidence in your craft and it shows in your expert review of the products and processes you use when doing an interior detail. Very good and useful information. Especially for a person who doesn't want to invest a lot of money in detailing products, but can still get you similar or the same results. Kudo's to you sir. Keep up the great work buddy. You'll have thousands more subscribers as soon as you are more well known.
Really appreciate the support my friend! I’m going to keep pushing to help as many people as I can. The following will simply be my reward. Happy detailing!!
Crazy value ⚡⚡⚡
Thank you good information ,and your communication skills is extremely excellent.
Great video! Though, having owned classic cars leather conditioner is a must. A lot of cars don't need it but the older the car, specifically pre 2005, definitely need it. I say pre 2005 as from cars I've owned the synthetic coating on leather has definitely gotten better. I do feel it wears away over time however, and I love Griots Leather 3-in-1 and I let it soak in. Get compliments at Cars&Coffee for how good my seats look. Personally though, I prefer vinyl seats (especially older NuLuxe, as I find it softer and more comfortable than leather, yet my little experience with the material usually is with Lexus cars)
Vinyl seats are definitely better. And when I do use conditioner, I use Griot's. They have a fantastic line-up! Newer cars and conditioner is definitely not my choice just because of the kind of material used now
Awesome video !!! Clear and concise information. Love it
Thank you!
Clean and simple process.
Pro-tip, do not let the customer see those carpets on the ground. Put a tarp down.
Absolutely
Dang, the towel on the windshield is such a simple but great strategy. Props to you my friend
Just a tip. When using chemicals, wear gloves. If its on you, its in you.
I forget way too often 😅 Thanks for the reminder!
Excellent video, Hudson. I’ve liked and subscribed ❤to
Great presentation!
Great video! I only use vacuum, towels, p&s swift, Adam’s wheel/tire cleaner & All in One Leather Conditioner!!! 🗿 ohhh & I always have a steamer to make cleaning absolutely making my detail beyond easy!!!
You have a bright future ahead.
this deserves a sub i just started and i like how you explain things
What interior detail/agitating brushes do u use? Thx for the content/info.
Good stuff. I like that vacuum mod. What would you recommend for dog drool staining on leather-like door panels (5th gen 4Runner)? I've tried simple green and a Maguier product by you can still see the drool stains. Perhaps it eteched itself into the material?
If you can't get them out with a strong all purpose cleaner, perhaps try a stain remover like P&S Terminator, if that doesn't work then you may be right about it having etched itself into the material :(
Great great video u will help us to save a lot of money on products that we don’t need I like the vacuum transformation on a carpet cleaner or drying thats awesome thanks a lot
You are most certainly welcome!
All of my customers want the OEM look/feel. So it really depends on what leather conditioner you use and how you apply it. I use the chemical guys one and with that you must make sure that you buff it off within 2 minutes of applying. If left longer than that it will leave the leather glossy and sticky. If i accidentally leave it on too long i spray interior cleaner on them to remove the condition and reapply. I also use a fresh microfiber afterwards to ensure I wiped up all the excess. After 6-8 hours it will have the original shine and feel as OEM leather.
I definitely prefer the OEM look myself too. Very important to keep things looking as close to factory finish as possible!
diy detail and mountain valley are the best!
You sure know what’s up!
Like the Hustle and energy. Extractor tip not bad.
Air compressor is 100% necessary for detailing. For quick tidy up, of course not. But if you're trying to get "like new" its a must have.
great video! tips for cleaning cloth seats would be helpful
Air compressions and tornador style blowers is a way faster process eliminating allot of time wasting vacuuming is why I recommend that process especially pet hair issues.
Love this video! Try out DIY Detail Clean and Protect! It cleans and protects in one go and it doesn't make leather shiny IMO. I love their interior Ceramic tho
I really like Clean & Protect as well, but all clean is much cheaper lol
Should you wipe with a damp microfiber towel after using the all clean on interior ?
Nope, when you use All Clean at 30:1 dilution ratio it’s perfectly safe for interior use without having to use a damp microfiber
Thanks for video. Can u list names of all products u mentioned
I'm really impressed at your delivery of interior detailing explanations! Keep it up! :D
Thank you
Where do you find the attachment for the vacuum? (extractor)
Have you had any issues with All Clean causing damage at 30:1? I've used Rinseless on plastics and All Clean on upholstery, worked pretty good.
Thank you
What’s a cheap good vacuum to use that’s portable in a trunk
Hey man great tips! However at 9:56 I see your process of adding chemicals then agitation with the drill brush which is great but do pick up the dirt and stains up after agitation with a rag or extractor like you did later in the video or just agitate?
I usually agitate, then use a rag to wipe the surface dry
You look 17, but I'm intrigued...... Continue 🤔
Wow thanks for showing us how to detail an already detailed car
How is there no dust flying around and sticking to the screen? When I detail then I always have this problem, what am I doing wrong?
What’s the spray chemical that you used on the mats? Does it clean most stains?
Wait quick question, you didn't use pressured water for the carpets?
What is in.the foam sprayer? Thanks
That tip about cleaning windows in the sun was on point. I have the same Rigid vacuum and hose you have. Can you please send me explain the setup of attaching the extractor nozzle to the hose? Very interested in that setup. Really like the video.
Absolutely! Connect with me on IG: @hudarcher, and I'll be able to send you a full setup video
The thing is, if people are such great people and resources are infinite, why do they need others to pay for them?
Are scrub ninja type pads safe for leather and cloth seats?
Can you make a video showing how to dilute it? Like what does 30 to 1 even mean? I'm not a chemist in a science lab
Awesome video! Im starting my detailing business soon, is there a link to the products you use?
Is there a link to the extractor hose
Where did you purchase the extractor from?
DIY rinseless wash is a very underrated product for interior cleaning. Most of the time, it’s all I need. I use a few sprays of all clean in particularly nasty cupholders, but everything else gets a rinseless wash dampened towel or brush.
Rinseless wash is a life saver in almost every area of the car!
Is there a description box for the video?
Hey Hudson, I was just interested in the specific connectors and hoses you need to turn the shop vac into an extractor.
I wish I knew! A friend of mine built it for me and I paid him lol
This dude can make a video so well
Really appreciate you my brother
How often would you clean the leather seats ???
@Hudson Archer - Auto Detailing Good video this one is,may I know if it's ok for you to review our foam cannon S V3.0?Thanks so much in advance!😊
Can you give a list of the stuff you bought for this video please
Sure! The products in this video are: -Rigid 4 gal Vacuum -Mytee Lite Extractor Head -DIY Detail All Clean -P&S Xpress Cleaner -P&S Terminator -P&S Carpet Bomber -Bamboo Toothpicks (Amazon) -Dewalt Chordless 12V Drill -Drill Brush Attachments (Amazon)
Amazing video brother I would use glass cleaner for sceens
I do like glass cleaner for screens depending on how dirty they are. Sometimes those things can be real greasy!
Dunno where you're buying extractors. Mine was $145, combined wet and dry vac. Does what I need.
Great video bro, wating for new ones :)
New ones always in the pipeline... get ready :o
Thank you brother 🙏🏼
yes sir
Thanks bro
Great video and content.
Using a rinse less wash like from the DIY brand as a multi purpose cleaner can be far more cost effective on minor issues. Maybe you should try it.
We do use it on quick interior jobs- super cost effective and time saving!
Can you add list of tools in description?
I never knew about the windshield getting streaks, I’ll give you that one 😮
of course!
With the IK sprayer how do you do multiple different products? Do you have multiple sprayers or one? Is it just another bottle for it? Also thanks for the great advice!
I have at least 6 IK Sprayers! They are just that good!
You can do 95% of what you were doing with all clean with just a rinse-less wash dampened towel. No need to use harsh chemicals when you don’t need to, will save you money and will allow the customers surfaces to last much longer. I only use an apc or interior cleaner after the rinseless wipe it needed. Good video though.
I've heard of doing this and thought about trying. My biggest concern is that it might slow us down because we will be putting too much moisture in the car using rinseless and have to spend time drying it up. Any tips for this?
Ring the towel out almost entirely before you go. I also don’t spray anything directly on a surface unless it is just trashed. Always into a towel or on a brush.
@@Stainlessautospa gotcha, thanks for the tip
Have to agree here. He's a DIY guy (code and all). Yvan has tons of videos of only using Rinseless for interior.
Relatively new channel but your production quality, content and enthusiasm is great. Best of luck to you. I’m subscribed to watch you grow!
Really wish this guy put links in the description. Building this extractor has been a nightmare
You can get a good average steamer for around 100-150$
Thanks for the video! Unrelated, but I'm always such a rock that doesn't ask for special treatment, and doesn't want to waste other's time, and tries to steer others away from bad habits, but it always ends up with them trying to hurt me because I'm so solid in my principles. Sad. They do drugs to escape reality, but are mad at me for not wanting to take responsibility for their problems and wanting to live in my own world and distract myself from their bullshit.
Keep your head down brother, stay true to your beliefs, and grow yourself as a man first. I'm rooting for you ❤
Any chance anyone found the attachments he used to turn the vacuum into an extractor?
A quick question about the rare use of the extractor, once you finish with the drill brush what other method do you use to remove the product you applied? I'd assume just a microfibre cloth to soak it up?
Yup! Steamer & microfiber cloth. Luke Wilson’s “dry extraction” method is super efficient
@@HudsonArcher_Details Thank you I appreciate it, I have another question do you use customers taps to use a pressure washer or do you have some portable one with a water tank sort of thing?
Here in Las Vegas you really need something that conditions the leather. The heat and dryness here is so extreme, with a conditioner the leather cracks in a very short time.
I bet!
I agree with a lot of what you are saying but conditioner is necessary, just like your dry skin needs lotion.
Where’s the air compressor your using
The air compressor I use is a Rigid air compressor, and I have it in my van. Like I say in the video, an air compressor is not necessary to achieve great results when you begin!
hey how do you manage finances with a business like this? do you just claim taxes as a business after or do you have to create the business legally first. please help!
create an LLC, have it own all your biz assets, write off everything you can
I feel like I do all of that with the windows and I still get streaks. I use a different towel, I always have a wet(for the product) and a dry to wipe up the product after the first initial wipe down. But I still get streaks. Could it be the microfiber towels I’m using? I use the same glass cleaner. I just can’t seem to figure out what I’m doing wrong
You can also Rinseless wash on windows. I switched to that method since making the video. It completely eliminates the risk of streaks or fog
Hi...what air compressor do you use? Model & type?
I use a Rigid 200psi Air Compressor, its the pancake shaped one
@@HudsonArcher_Details could you specify the model?
@@mz8210it's called Ridgid pancake compressor
@mz8210 Ridgid Pancake Air Compressor Model#: OF60150HB $100. Its very loud, heavy, and has a hard time keeping up with a tornador blow gun. I would update that model and recommend you buy the Ridgid Portable Quite Model#: OF45200SS $300.
After you drill the carpet, how do you remove the shampoo do you wash it with a hose or pressure washer or do you use a microfiber towel?
lightly dab it with a microfiber to dry it up. You shouldn't use so much shampoo that it gets soaked
@@HudsonArcher_Details and can you do this method on the seats and the inside carpet or any upholstery?
@@Saintjp07 yup!
Are you a member of international detailing association, I'm in new Zealand, and local business advertise s as a member,do I join them or just start up and go for it, thanks for your knowledge awesome bro
up to you- I personally am not a member of any group like this. We just advertise ourselves
Conditioner isn’t a scam… not only dose it smell great but it protects and restores leather and vinyl, especially when your app is diluted incorrectly and leaves white residue
DIY Detail FTW
Awesome video !
Thanks!
Is this possible doing this in a sedan, I don’t have a van yet
Of course! I’ve seen some incredibly compact & efficient car buildouts
I made a video on how you can make that extractor yourself - Hope this helps!😀
