"Caspiy Tolkyny" (Waves of the Caspian Sea): an evening of songs by Ilya Zhakanov | NCOC

On August 30, Atyrau hosted an evening of songs by Ilya Zhakanov, an outstanding writer and composer of our country, called "Caspiy Tolkyny" (Waves of the Caspian Sea).
The event was organized by NCOC, the Operator of the North Caspian Project, and the Atyrau Regional Philharmonic Society on the 30th Anniversary of commencement of offshore operations in the North Caspian Sea. Well-known vocalists such as Saule Zhanpeisova, People's Singer, Honoured Artist of Kazakhstan, Kairzhan Berdibay, and other musicians performed the composer's masterpieces to the accompaniment of "Naryn", the folk instruments orchestra named after Karshyga Akhmediyarov, which was a real treat to the connoisseurs of art.
Yerlan Mukai, NCOC Deputy Managing Director, mentioned that: "Organization and holding of today's concert is our contribution to the support of the rich music culture of Kazakhstan, where Ilya Zhakanov, the composer, writer, art historian, and Honoured Artist of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, has his place of honor."
