    • An old story of injustice & power from the 18th cent. “The man without a country” Which applies today to Assange whose “crime” was to tell truth to power & to the whole world using the words of an illicit power elite who own governments

  • Kudos to Julian !!! it takes guts to place one's fellow man and his future, ahead of the pleasures of life and make such a sacrifice of self interests, to expose the Truth for the Masses to wake up, he is a hero; not a Terrorist, the Terrorists occupy the District of Criminals, aka Washington D.C.

  • No matter what happened on April 11, 2019. No matter that president Lenin Moreno sold Julian Assange to the US. Still, we should not forget that the former president of Ecuador, Rafael Carrea, has been extremely brave by helping Julian for seven years. Lenin Moreno should be the only one to be remembered for his shameful crime, not Ecuador in itself. We should be able to differentiate who was who and who is who! I admit that I fear for his life because now he is in devil`s hands, where anything can happen, especially given his ill state of health. Bless you, Mr. Assange!

  • I'm so angry at the U.S.Govt. I left 3 years ago and moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina for many of the reasons that entangled Snowden and Assange. Whistleblowers are targeted by the real terrorists in the Govt., because the info that these two heroes were going to release, would be very damaging to the Imposter President, and all down the food chain of corruption. I'm very sorry, I didn't know about your meeting in Buenos Aires. I would have liked to have been there to support your and Julian Assange cause for truth and justice. Keep up the good work!

It's very progressive for a Latin American Country and Buenos Aires has the Best Subways and public transport in South America. Much better than most cities in the USA. I love it here. BTW, most people here are well educated and speak 2 or 3 languages.

    • Tulsatom Bob Two concerns I have had since considering ARG (2010): 1) Recent & continuous history w/ internal political (strong tendency toward) violent "might makes right". 2) Historically limited open & competitive trade w/ US, EU, & British *combined with* lackluster culture for entrepreneurship & innovation beyond status quo. It's really the latter that worries me, where "right to everything imaginable" distracts from motivation to innovate. Your thoughts?

Given the sorry state of the politics of this country, it may be wise to look at these critically. Poignant message from Brian Eno and others.

  • Literally *tomorrow* for me in time now, January 4th 2021, a judgement will be made in the US on his extradition status. I have no words, but I hope he will be released and get to live a free life. I know the probability, considering the horror show that is our governance. Still - his soul is beautiful, his mind brilliant, and he did an incredible, beautiful good deed that had impact well beyond what most of us will ever contribute back to humanity. I hope the tiny flame of love and brotherhood in humanity never goes out, and that he goes free, gets to feel the grass on his skin, and the warm embrace of another human. He deserves that, we ALL do.

Pre-code Hollywood even made some smart films. Machiavelli grokked it too. "Only the dead know Brooklyn" Keep letting people know you knew so no one feels alone in their past with these points anymore, so the words of history tell the future of our inevitable discoveries.

      @galileo_rs@galileo_rs7 жыл бұрын
    • An evil empire is one based on the theology of revolution rather than the theology of liberation. Liberation cannot occur when those defining themselves as oppressed seek merely to replace those they define as oppressors so they may use that power to oppress those they formerly defined as their oppressors. Liberation occurs when the underlying system is altered so that both those oppressed by the rules and those oppressed by having to enforce those rules attain new rules. Representative democracy is the worst system of government in the world, except when one compares it to all the others. Light side capitalism (Middle Out Economic policy) is the worst economic system in the world, except when one compares it to all the others. Life will always entail suffering. There will always be people who blame their suffering on others, rather than themselves - when a bit of both is the more honest answer. Such people blame the ocean because it rained on their parade. They do not want to acknowledge the difference between what is and what is by intent. There is one society which is a theology of revolution with more than 1.6 billion adherents. They are not the only revolutionary theology, Marxism is another. Buddhism and Unionization are examples of theologies of liberation. Whether one calls it a theology or a philosophy is irrelevant since the social affectations are effected in the same personal and institutional ways.

    • The definition used for your given lacks all merit. What I have defined is precise and differentiates between emotionally effected prejudices and those observations which function as axioms for a rational, exhaustive, and progressive achievement. Givens based on the whim of emotion prevent liberation of both the individual and the society. They only lead to furthering the cycles of violence. The real evil empire is in the mind with a myopic and parochial view who thinks it is grand because its eyes see what it chooses not to comprehend.

  • I do think of Julian, and Edward, and Chelsea. They are hero's and heroines. I also think of an innocent young man who back in the summer of 1967 was stabbed to death in his bed late in the night. He had a partial amputation of his arm. He was completely alone. His parents had passed away and left their livestock feed store to him so he would have a source of income and could provide for himself. The unspoken law was that any disabled person was considered a freak and they were to be kept behind walls of one's home or were to be removed to institutions. The disabled people were forbidden to be seen or participate in society. That this disabled man had visibility by ownership of his family's business the local government had him murdered. The police were called in after the murder was finished and his body was loaded into the trunk of the police car and driven to the local garbage dump and his body burned to dispose of his body and evidence. His business was secured and torn down within the following week to destroy any further evidence. There was never any investigation by any legal authority. No doctor was ever called to issue a death certificate. All records of the man's birth and death were removed from the county records. Also, all property records in his name were also removed. Even the local historical society deleted any mention or record of the building they owned which was a part of historical buildings that had been still standing in the 1960's. There never was any mention of his murder in the local newspaper or the surrounding local newspaper or a newspaper from the nearest city. There was no word to this crime in print, television, or radio. So yes the U.S. commits murder at the local level as well as abroad with impunity. Perhaps one day others will no longer accept this vicious monstrosity. They have destroyed many lives, they are also destroying my life. It would have been something if others could have cared, it may have prevented this senseless murder. I have no expectation that caring people will come today or tomorrow, but someday there may be a people who will not allow a United States to perpetuate such gross inhumanity, or allow a rogue state to Perpetuate such crimes anywhere in the world.

  • To Srećko Horvat, The problem with modern technology, and the use of it, is not that it is something we are afraid to participate in, but it is something with which a great many of us have no success. I attempted from the age of ten until just a few years ago to learn to program. The last language for programming that I found understandable was GFA Basic. Instructions for assembling a bookshelf are in this day and age written to be incomprehensible - if they are written at all. Programmers, and technologists, are like Kindergarten teachers. They have become so entrenched in the language of their work they can barely speak to anyone else outside of that idiom. It is impossible for them to prepare programs and instructions which are meaningful to anyone with a classical education. They might read a few lines of Le Morte d'Arthur, La Chanson de Roland, or even Go Rin no Sho to effect them in some ap, but they do nothing to communicate accessibility of modern technology and its manipulation for those of us who passionately appreciate the grand symphonies of our languages. Of all the complaints against Microsoft, and Bill Gates actions in specific, the one thing that he has accomplished equal to Julian Assange, is the inclusion of the masses in his bailiwick by making an operating system which the entire planet can utilize. The communication of our technology back to us, the intuitiveness of that technology, should be so direct, so harmonious, that the illiterate among our centenarians should find the manipulation and control of that technology as easy as cleaning their dentures. Rather instead, what I find, is that the farther the tech has come from the 1980's the less intuitive, the less communicative, and the less controllable it has become.
