Discussing the drought monitor for Arizona. It says most of AZ is still in drought. But just prior to that you showed a wetter time period for southern AZ and wet soil moisture maps right after the drought monitor maps. I can add that our lakes in central AZ are at 92% full in the combined reservoir systems. That is the second year of full reservoirs. Therefore, how does the current drought make justify it's claims?

It is right at 90 days since we had heavy fog in Eastern Iowa and now we are having heavy rain. You mentioned this old wise tale back when it was so foggy and now here is the rain.

Eric, It is right at 90 days since the heavy fog here in Iowa and getting heavy rain this weekend. You mentioned this wise tale back when the fog was here last winter. Looks like it played out almost perfectly.

Here in Central Nebraska we had 4 to 5 inches of rain! Last time we saw a rain over 2 inches was almost 3 years ago! The rain was certainly a blessing but darn, wish we could've spread that out over the last 2 months. Before this we had 1.25 for the year.

Charlotte, NC here, I can attest that the lack of rain is kind of blessing. I finally have a dry time to plant my fields without the risk of receiving 2 inches of rain to baby crops. Now, if we go 2 weeks without rain then I'll be recanting this statement lol

Basically either scenario you played out has south plains being in drought. 😅

PLEASE let the next system do more for SE Kansas. We got 1.5” so far at our house. 13 miles away at the farm we got .25”. Are we ever going to get widespread rain again? It has been YEARS.

We need INCHES, not tenths!!!! I"m beginning to get that oh so familiar bad feeling that this weekend's rain is going to be the football, the weather pundits are going to be Lucy, and I'm once again going to be Charlie Brown laying flat on my back.....

Why doesn't the ECMWF just use its temperature AI model exclusively. Their 2 model predictions conflict. The AI shows warm ridging in my area for the next 2 weekends but their non AI model shows cool troughing.

I would imagine there's not enough data to suggest a full blown switch. Probably needs a couple years of proven data to trigger an overhaul.

@@pamelalee5075 As you should! It's definitely been way more accurate. Just giving one reason why the ECMWF hasn't totally moved over to it yet.

Yes. Thank you. I only pay attention to the European models. I have been using them for a few years, and they have been the most accurate overall. @@cameroneverhart6443
