Timothy Owen Desmond, Ph.D returns to mind meld!
In this brain-melting transmission, we riff on the surprising connections between ancient wisdom (both eastern and western) and modern physics. We also muse about Earnest Becker's Denial of Death, and the philosophy of Hegel. We speculate about the physics of near-death experiences, particularly through the lens of the one Carl Jung experienced in 1944. We muse about the groundbreaking work of idealist cognitive scientist, Donald Hoffman, and more!

  • The comment that the universe doesn't care if you die isn't completely accurate. It's not that it doesn't care, it's 2 things. 1. If the universe mourned and stopped every time someone or some animal died, it would be in mourning all the time. 2. The other reason it doesn't "care" is because it's not the end. Nothing can be created or destroyed, your energy and soul go on to other forms. The afterlife. Great episode though! Very deep.

  • For me, you and the people on the show have been my physical reference for my synchronicities on a collective level .. comfort KNOWING it's all more than just something in my mind. I literally thought I was crazy, had no idea what the f*** and still don't but the universe seems to be speaking to me through everything including myself and you are the most solid piece of evidence I have that other people are experiencing the same conscious conversations within themselves and throughout their lives....... The first couple of times someone mentioned similar concepts .. I was like oh it's just avague coincidence and I'm grasping for true synchronicity. But your show so solidly explains concepts and are so concretely similar to many of my esoteric ponderings.. straight up things that I am afraid to talk about with most people, metaphors, vibes, esoteric and even scientific allignments which let me know this.. phenomena .. is being shared and is ever present. You have been and continue to be that rock for me sometimes , even though at this point I know i see this whole hive minds tuning in, lot to deal with.. strange omnipresent consciousness processing simuation uhhh thingy... Ya know. All that. Thanks for some solid material to grasp on to, branching out in all this.. some days these talks are what keep me grounded , definitely keeps me searching n knowing .......

You put on the helmet and make decisions in Roy's life, guiding him through certain life events in a time compressed virtual reality. Morty was so immersed in the game that when he died and Rick "Took the Helmet off" Morty was disoriented and looking for his in game wife. It's so similar to this desk top theory it's scary. The creators must have known about this theory.

    • “Details de-tail a detailer” Nature's detailer speaks through a voice we do not hear by ear. Silently; in its entirety/infinite boggles of the mind, nature's voice can be heard ~and grows clear, through the watering of time. Seclude yourself on either side of a window's divide: In looking out and/or when out look "in" ~and you can see, we live in nature ~equally as nature lives within thee...Body embodies what created creation because mind is what realizes reality ~from within came the stirring that pointed ev🌍lution in "this" direction. Seclude yourself on either side of a window's divide ~and think!...And the voice of nature's detailer will have spoken; the silence will have already been broken by the hammer of thought's silent onslaught...If silence can be broken by the silent voice of thought ~then, silence is ~no such thing~ only something that can be “bought.” Would you call a person who eats to live ~free~ if that person has to work to eat? Could you not call that person who eats to live/works to eat ~a slave? Slavery/servantry, we've come so far as to NOT discriminate. Haven't we come/advanced so far as to be able to harness nature to produce -freely- food for all? We throw more and more money/advance into space, at the expense of ~us~ humans advancing as a race. Eat to live; work to eat ~Literally working to survive...If we could reduce the visciousness of that routine, we could better life ~instead of the machine.....We could get rid of the viscious part of that routine by bettering life instead of technology(it's good enough)…Let the Golden Age Begin✋🏼👁️🌅👁️🤚🏿

I had the same experience (NDE) where I was hit by a car doing 50mph. Went flying landed on my head and shoulder. I remember seeing my mom standing there by me with what I thought were 2 EMT's looking like they were checking my body. I tried to say I am OK but they couldn't hear me. The suns light was blocked and I looked up and this hand was coming out if mid air. So I started screaming... "IM OK"!!?!! Atleast 3 times and I was trying to get up and couldn't!?! It was like I was floating on water and everytime I fought get up, it felt like I was sinking. When the hand touched my head it was like a feeling you get when you free falling. I felt it all this energy in my gut like when you're falling and then I was up in the air looking down at my body.

  • The QUEST to find an aprior mathematical/physics explanation for the mechanism of consciousness/awareness REQUIRES that we reduce infinity to some simple mechanical process that satisfies the local consciousness of a handful of academics and philosophers? "physical" reality doesn't' exist, but you want to interpret the 'REAL world' of the AUTHOR through the novel's storyline arc?

    @etyrnal@etyrnal4 күн бұрын
    • Yes, I think so. The QUEST you mention is the academic quest to find the mathematical descriptions of the archetypes of consciousness initiated by Plato, especially in the Republic. That same quest has been forwarded by academic philosophers since then, such as Kant (who came up with the idea of a priori categories of thought) and the physicists from Einstein through Susskind. Hoffman is in that same academic tradition, and so am I. I am not saying academics and philosophers created consciousness, but the quest to find mathematical descriptions of it can be traced directly back to Plato's original Academia.

      @THIRDEYEDROPS@THIRDEYEDROPS16 күн бұрын
    • @@THIRDEYEDROPS Ohhhhhh forgive me for assuming, I thought you had probably heard about it before. 🤣 I am by no means an expert on the subject and the topic is quite confusing territory for me tbh, what I can understand from the stuff I've watched from Channels like 'Alchemical Science', 'Funny Olde World', & briefly hearing Randall Carlson mention it on podcasts. The Thunderstorm Generator is a waste energy conversion system that apparently produces ball lightning and is designed to be retrofitted to any existing internal combustion engine. It can convert the exhaust waste stream, generally consisting of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons, amongst other elements into oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and other more useful elements. This is a method of utilizing 100% of the fuel we put in our engines instead of wasting about half of it. This technology works by using the principles and ideas of Malcom Bendall's Plasmoid Unification Model (PUM) which itself is based on things like sacred geometry, harmonic numbers, and a lot of other ancient shit which you can read about here if you would like www.strikefoundation.earth/open-source-research The PUM shows how Aether, Sound, Elements, Planets, Precession of Time, etc... and how they all algorithmically relate to each other. Which gives us the base theory behind Malcom's inventions and shows how energy at rest can be converted to matter and imprinted with a certain time or frequency. The main implication I thought you might be interested in is how Malcom seems to believe that the PUM is evidence that the Universe is an intelligent design. That design is in perfect octave harmonic resonance with itself. Therefore, all of creation from Galaxies to Planets to Elements all resonate in unison with a collective chord ‘As Above So Below’. Which seemed to really fit the theme of tonight's episode lol. I wish I was capable of explaining it better man, Alchemical Science did a 3 part video series Deciphering the Plasmoid Unification Model though and also keeps people updated with new info about the Thunderstorm Generator and what not. I highly recommend reading up on the topic if it interests you at all! Sorry for the wall of text man, I really have no idea how to condense this info 😂

  • We often hear of the hard problem of consciousness. Why is there qualia or experience of anything in the first place? I would submit there is an even harder and more important question - why do I seem to be a specific individual experiencing a specific subset of qualia? This is the most important question that must be asked and answered but rarely is. As a matter of fact there seems to be a huge blind spot when it comes to this in discussions of consciousness. If material reductionism is to be relevant to the big questions, then it has to explain not how brains generate consciousness but how the specific brain in my head could create the specific consciousness I seem to be looking out of the eyeballs of this specific body. Why do I PERSONNALLY EXIST as an individual in the first place? Out of the infinite matter in the universe how is it that only the three pounds in my head could create me? What is different about that three pounds for this to occur? Consider that billions of bodies showed up before this one. Billions showed up after this one. None of them seem to have created my existence. This body could be running around without it being ME just like these billions of others All bodies are made of the same elements. All brains have the same basic anatomy. If all brains are basically the same and are creating consciousness then there should only be ONE consciousness looking out of every set of eyeballs simultaneously. A hopelessly superimposed existence from every possible viewpoint at once. I’m sure that materialists would claim that no, no, brains are so complex they are all different. Ok, so what would have to be recreated in another brain for me to exist looking out of another set of eyeballs? When the ontologies purporting to explain consciousness are examined critically it becomes obvious that all materialist/reductionist strategies fail completely in attempting to address the individuality question. What is the principled explanation for why: A brain over here would generate my specific consciousness and a brain over there would generate your specific consciousness? Integrated information over here would generate my specific consciousness and integrated information over there would generate your specific consciousness? Global workspace over here would generate my specific consciousness and global workspace there would generate your specific consciousness? Orchestrated quantum collapse in microtubules over here would generate my specific consciousness and orchestrated quantum collapse in microtubules over there would generate your specific consciousness? A clump of conscious atoms over here (panpsychicism) would generate my specific consciousness and a clump of conscious over there would generate your specific consciousness? If an exact copy of my body was suddenly created in antarctica would I find myself to exist freezing there while also sitting in the comfort my living room? According to the physicalists that would have to be true or their argument collapses into incoherence. Materialism already fails since it cannot find a transfer function between microvolt level sparks in the brain and any experience or qualia. In addition it’s not possible for materialistic ontologies to address this question of individuality since no measurement can be made that could verify my consciousness vs your consciousness and therefore no materialist ontology could make any coherent statements about the subject. How could pure awareness even be individualized? Physicalists demand measurements but with consciousness there is nothing to measure. There is electricity in the brain they say. We’ll measure that. Is electricity consciousness? If so then once I again I should exist everywhere at once since electricity cannot be individualized. My blender uses electricity. Is it a genius? Unless materialists can answer these questions their premise collapses like the house of cards it is. As far as other ways of thought are concerned only Dualism and Idealism can account for our sense of individuality. Dualism assumes we are all individual spirits/souls matched up to a body through some undefined process. Idealism, which states that consciousness is primary also answers the question of why I seem to exist as an individual. One consciousness exists looking out of every set of eyeballs and in the process the illusion of individuality is created in each case. In actual reality I am you, you are me, we are one.

    • Yes. You're correct. It's solipsism at it's base. We are here alone. It's just you. The experience is totally dependent on the individual and perception shapes the "reality". Reality is fluid. There is not a right, or wrong answer. When we communicate our worlds intersect in a multidimensional way. The world is exactly as you perceive it to be. The only thing that can be known to exist in your reality is you.

  • Leonard Susskind's theory regarding our 3D reality projecting from a 2D surface in the cosmic background actually explains why they can find the past, present, and future in the 2D Hebrew Torah Codes. The spoken word of God (in Hebrew) is what forms our 3D reality. I explain this in detail in my book that is titled The Bible Code Solved. The paperback and Kindle have been around for about five-years. However, I recently released the audio edition. This book will make real sense out of a lot of the conjecture that was brought up in this KZhead video.

I watched his channel a few times but although he has some great stuff, he sure is a bit of an ego boat, but aren't we all, a bit, gotta have some amount or we have no interface with one another to use. To me, Leo comes off as performing too much. Doesn't matter though, not if that is what you enjoy as we all do best with the right teacher for us at the right time in our progression, each stepping stone valuable, doesn't matter how advanced a teacher might be or not, what we each need from a teacher to progress forward from our current understanding is the one right teacher for us at that time. I find reminding myself of this to be valuable, even the stuff I consider trash might be the trash someone needs to get to the next step, the only thing they can accept at the time which ultimately will lead to another step. This is not in reference to Leo, I'm not listening to him anymore due to my own personality, not him. I could say it's him, but my choices are due to who I am at this moment. I could decide to listen again later, he did have good stuff to consider most of the time I did listen.
