Kobelco Excavators Production In Japan - Factory Tour
This is Itsukaichi factory in Japan where assembly workers has to hand-building Kobelco excavators. Here are produced of medium, large hydraulic excavators in the range of 7 to 220 tons.
Also, the production of mini excavators was established at the Ogaki (Japan) plant and the Chengdu (China) plant manufactures from small-size to large-size excavators.

  • I' ve seen 5 or 6 years ago a Kobelco excavator with long reach boom working in Thailand.Very impressive. These machines are rare sight in Greece, probably they are very expensive.

  • Personally I think kobelco are the second best manufacturers of excavators in the world. The smaller, lesser known company KATO make the finest excavators there is.

    • Definitely Caterpillar and Komatsu are the best in performance and product, spare parts support. Mining in Australia mostly use this two brands and the rest are minority.

  • The company that does not manufacture its own engines for the hydraulic system. I consider it as a mere installation company and not as a manufacturing company. Therefore, I consider the American Caterpillar Company and the German Liebheer to be in the lead.

  • Pure junk . My 2019 sk140 didn’t make it to 1200 hours . Was in the shop ever 250 since new and was never fixed correctly. I traded in in for a new Komutsu pc138. That machine has over 1800 hours with no issues. The Kobelco reps pertained to care but never did anything to help as I was losing money while my machine was down. I would never buy one of those piles of crap ever again.

    • Electronic issues, Def sending unit, Def control unit. Multiple bad sensors. The crazy part is all of this parts were replaced many times by the dealer and the machine kept throwing the same code. And would put the machine in limp mode. No one ever truly fixed it or could tell me what was wrong.

The company's website states that it is necessary to use genuine engine oil or low-sulfur diesel oil, but if replacing the parts did not fix the problem, it probably means that there is some other mechanical problem. In any case, I have to say that customer support lacks knowledge.
