Like any other instrument it’s a holding place store of value like for example other assets. Bitcoin is different in that you really truly own it (custody it), it’s super secure (it’s however a bit technical and huge responsibility), no susceptible to counter party risk.
I hate that i continually feel like it's too late for me to buy bitcoin or enter the entire crypto space at this point. I find it to be far too complex to comprehend. I get quite emotional when I continually lose money. Feels like I'm always doing something wrong. Lost about $93k within a few months buying and trading myself since i subscribed to a trading channel.
The only wrong you might be doing is the strategy you're utilizing. All I can say is, either find a financiaI advser who can tell you when to buy and sell the shares or ETF that you want to focus on, or you read some good books about investing and finance.

Even bigger than store of value is the fact it is the largest decentralized network allowing unrestricted secure transfer of value between ANY two parties without a middleman. Ask Russia how valuable that is.

But when you buy and ETF you don’t really own the underlying assets right ? So how it can effect the price ?
buying an atf is like buying a share in a company that only owns assets. the btc etf will buy btc with the money they raise from selling shares. but people like etf's because they are fdic insured. so if the btc the etf owns gets stolen, theoretically the government should bail out there customers at a max amount of 250,000 per customer individual account.

I find myself in a paradoxical state with my investment at the moment. On one hand, I'm secretly hoping for the price to dip further, presenting an opportunity to average down and acquire more at a lower price. This strategy could potentially maximize my gains in the long run, should the market conditions favor us again. Yet, on the other hand, there's a part of me that yearns for the price to soar, validating my existing investment and offering some respite from the constant market vigil. It's a clear indication that I'm deeply invested, not just financially but emotionally as well. The thought of exiting doesn't cross my mind; I'm too far in to consider quitting now. It's a delicate balance between greed and patience, between fear and conviction. As much as this is a financial journey, it's also a test of psychological resilience.

question are the etfs actually purchasing the asset? or are they some sort of simulated price? I mean if they get approved and they actually hold BTC then it will be crazy. However, I'm pretty sure there is something on the books against about having all off the funds in a single asset for becoming an etf. I forget the amount. Sorry not a etf manager lol. So if anything it would be something like BTC / Bonds etc... maybe IDK I really need to look at these and find some papers on them .
I agree. There is a big risk for market manipulation. And further delays where scared people will sell out, then we at this channel buy, but this is a long game. It is easier taking your time if you dont care about the volatily the next 5 year
Yes, from my understanding they have to hold real bitcoin. None of this paper BS. AND, the likes of Blackrock has to have a third party hold it. Bitcoin is all ready highly manipulated thanks to the Futures Bitcoin fund where contracts are written then cancelled.
For every dollar spent on their product, they must hold that amount in BTC. They typically rebalance on a weekly basis.
It's basically a Bitcoin IOU Since you don't actually own the bitcoin itself.
That’s the whole point of spot bitcoin etf. When you buy it, the etf is required to have the actual bitcoin in reserve

Techlead, I recently listened to a podcast where a Japanese guy said that in Japan, people are discouraged from getting a divorce, so basically, a woman who wants custody of her child doesn't receive any child support. The lack of child support in Japan is a way to discourage divorces. Did you or are you required to pay child support for your son in Japan? We need an update on the situation
