I mean cuz it is wrong. You know those colorful hamster cages? That’s not adequate living for a hamster because of its size. So is a fishbowl. There are actually sizes “recommended” for animals. But those stupid cages barely meet the requirements to stay on the shelf’s. And since it’s uneducated pet stores selling the to uneducated parents for they’re uneducated 4 year old who loves the color pink, the company can stay in business.

There’s a difference between survival, and happiness. I used to have a beta and we didn’t keep him in a bowl his tank was only around the size of a large milk carton. He was always acting sulky and unhappy and nowadays I know why. R.I.P Bonzo (2013-2017) Edit: how are there so many likes lmao 🤣

Please remember that Bettas absolutely hate being in small environments. People think it's okay for them to be in small little bowls because that's how they sell them, but I'm pretty sure fish can be stressed from confinement. You don't need to get them a gigantic tank or two, but a nice tank that can fit a few larger fish will be great. Just want people to know to really care about what they do with their fish.

they live in rice paddies and puddles during dry seasons they can thrive in 3 gallon tanks the problem is people don’t know that less water = wilder parameter swings when doing water changes and that’s what really stresses out a betta but they are completely comfortable in tiny tanks some live their whole lives in puddles. The reason not to put them jn bowls is it distorts their vision

The only thing I might change is the rocks. Those rocks can be really sharp. Bettas love to rest and sleep on things. They might get abraded.

big tanks but not deep ones. It's easier for them to swim up to get fresh air. and bettas sleep on their own mattresses made of leaves near the surface :)

the misconception on betta fish liking small spaces originated in tourists mistaking display bowls in Asian markets as their preferred way of living. Wild betta fish live in flooded rice fields, and thrive in large, wide tanks with lots of vegetation to hide in. Just make sure the tank isn't too deep, because they have lungs as well as gills and need to come up for air sometimes.

Well One day I went to this home decor store and they had a turtle I was very fond of turtles and was gonna get one very soon , I had all the research ready and stuff Then I asked the owner if they could keep it outside for a while And that lil guy bit my finger HARDD, I was pretty lucky that it didn’t have salmonella So if you’re buying one make sure you know the other side of it too 😕😂 All the best tho

I think red eared sliders are pretty nice! I've seen 3 in the past and they were really nice :) I've also raised 2 turtles and they're adorable! Though you need to be aware that turtles get big pretty quick so make sure you have the right size tank and a good environment for them to live in

I have two right now! one doesn't let me touch it unless it's his shell but the other one is really friendly to me! I've also played with one of my friend's turtles before and it was really nice too, so I guess that's why I think most red eared sliders are friendly. but of course, red eared sliders aren't for everyone ^^

I love this so much omg. It simulates a more natural environment of them traveling in (shallow) water like swamps or rice paddy fields, that goes on for ages (their territory is usually 1 square meter). Would love to see blueberry in a labyrinth of diff tanks with bridges like this. It would be so amazing. You could even make certain tanks community tanks with other fish if blueberry gets along with them. (No long finned fish).

Wild beta live in shallow "streams". They dont need a lot of water to survive but, just like any other animal, they thrive in a wide area. The streams they live in in the wild stretch across feild sized areas of marsh or more

I had a betta, lived 4 yrs. I put an air filter, plants and a barrel that allowed him to take time to chill out. I put his tank in front of a north facing window. He swam happily watching out the window and enjoying his bubbles. I moved tank to arrange furniture and he got sad. Didn't swim much hung out more under the barrel. They do think. Had to readjust.

In the wild, during the dry season, Betta live in tiny little puddles or even under a damp leaf. However, during the wet season, Betta live in bodies of water that are bigger than any tank. I think Betta is one of those fish who can thrive in almost anything.

Fun fact about us Thai’s - you can find Betta’s in rivers in Thailand since they’re also known as ‘Siamese fighting fish’ and a lot of people collect them and make them fight each other as a sort of sport but only one makes it out alive, they would do it anyway if put into a situation with another in the wild but this is basically just sending one or both of them to their deaths so I don’t agree with it personally. Also the reason you can only have one of its kind in a tank!

There’s a difference between survival, and happiness. I used to have a beta and we didn’t keep him in a bowl his tank was only around the size of a large milk carton. He was always acting sulky and unhappy and nowadays I know why. R.I.P Bonzo (2013-2017) Edit: how are there so many likes lmao 🤣

I had a Beta fish too! It was called “Cherry,” It was a male and it was red, I had it for 2 - 3 years and I can say the he actually was happy in a big tank

Please remember that Bettas absolutely hate being in small environments. People think it's okay for them to be in small little bowls because that's how they sell them, but I'm pretty sure fish can be stressed from confinement. You don't need to get them a gigantic tank or two, but a nice tank that can fit a few larger fish will be great. Just want people to know to really care about what they do with their fish.

they live in rice paddies and puddles during dry seasons they can thrive in 3 gallon tanks the problem is people don’t know that less water = wilder parameter swings when doing water changes and that’s what really stresses out a betta but they are completely comfortable in tiny tanks some live their whole lives in puddles. The reason not to put them jn bowls is it distorts their vision

big tanks but not deep ones. It's easier for them to swim up to get fresh air. and bettas sleep on their own mattresses made of leaves near the surface :)
the misconception on betta fish liking small spaces originated in tourists mistaking display bowls in Asian markets as their preferred way of living. Wild betta fish live in flooded rice fields, and thrive in large, wide tanks with lots of vegetation to hide in. Just make sure the tank isn't too deep, because they have lungs as well as gills and need to come up for air sometimes.

Well One day I went to this home decor store and they had a turtle I was very fond of turtles and was gonna get one very soon , I had all the research ready and stuff Then I asked the owner if they could keep it outside for a while And that lil guy bit my finger HARDD, I was pretty lucky that it didn’t have salmonella So if you’re buying one make sure you know the other side of it too 😕😂 All the best tho
I think red eared sliders are pretty nice! I've seen 3 in the past and they were really nice :) I've also raised 2 turtles and they're adorable! Though you need to be aware that turtles get big pretty quick so make sure you have the right size tank and a good environment for them to live in

I have two right now! one doesn't let me touch it unless it's his shell but the other one is really friendly to me! I've also played with one of my friend's turtles before and it was really nice too, so I guess that's why I think most red eared sliders are friendly. but of course, red eared sliders aren't for everyone ^^

I love this so much omg. It simulates a more natural environment of them traveling in (shallow) water like swamps or rice paddy fields, that goes on for ages (their territory is usually 1 square meter). Would love to see blueberry in a labyrinth of diff tanks with bridges like this. It would be so amazing. You could even make certain tanks community tanks with other fish if blueberry gets along with them. (No long finned fish).
My betta fish has a 10 gallon tank I’m pretty sure, he loves it and always swims up to the glass when I come into the room where he is😊

Wild beta live in shallow "streams". They dont need a lot of water to survive but, just like any other animal, they thrive in a wide area. The streams they live in in the wild stretch across feild sized areas of marsh or more

I have a beta fish! When we bought him from the pet store he was in a small cup and he wasn’t very active, now that I have him in a 6 gallon tank! He is really active and happy! (He’s also healthy)

I had a betta, lived 4 yrs. I put an air filter, plants and a barrel that allowed him to take time to chill out. I put his tank in front of a north facing window. He swam happily watching out the window and enjoying his bubbles. I moved tank to arrange furniture and he got sad. Didn't swim much hung out more under the barrel. They do think. Had to readjust.
In the wild, during the dry season, Betta live in tiny little puddles or even under a damp leaf. However, during the wet season, Betta live in bodies of water that are bigger than any tank. I think Betta is one of those fish who can thrive in almost anything.
I made a water bridge for my goldfish. I have 3 stock tanks outside all connected by PVC pipe but the babies love the water bridge. And their viewing dome.. Your Betta might like that too😊
I kept my blueberry male betta in a 10 litre tank. Its just sleeping on the floor unless i drop some food pallets. So i moved him back to his bowl of 500ml capacity. He is happy now and roaming in it.

Fun fact about us Thai’s - you can find Betta’s in rivers in Thailand since they’re also known as ‘Siamese fighting fish’ and a lot of people collect them and make them fight each other as a sort of sport but only one makes it out alive, they would do it anyway if put into a situation with another in the wild but this is basically just sending one or both of them to their deaths so I don’t agree with it personally. Also the reason you can only have one of its kind in a tank!
