I think the design of the Outlander looks better than Rav 4 even the interior look more luxurious on the Outlander.
I love the RAV4, but I like the unusual and distinct Mitsubishi design better. The interior of the Outlander is also gorgeous.
poor mens car. outlander looks way better.
@@razor19906Nah. The RAV4 is very well engineered, but it’s just that the Outlander is better designed.
Had my 2023 Outlander SEL Black Edition for a little over a year now. Very happy with my purchase so far.
How much you bought it for?
@@Gopinathk17 Got at MSRP, ~41k
It's only been a year! Let us know in another 2-3 or at the 70k mark! 😂😂😂
@1993rufus Yeah, I'm not going to be watching this video in 2 to 3 years, that's why I put a comment today...
@@B_Ahmed1234 You don't have to! I already what gonna happen! 😅😅🤣🤣
Mitsubishi is a very underrated brand on many levels. I think they could sell more products in the states if they had some new models such as the X Force sold overseas. Imo Mitsubishi vehicles are just as god as any Toyota.
I am very happy that you've added reliability and resale value to your rankings. If there was a way to also add a cost of ownership over 5yrs for example, that might be useful to some also.
Why would you compare a Hybrid to a non Hybrid especially when Mitsubishi offers it?
Exactly what I was thinking.
Excellent comparison as per usual!😸
Great video. Thanks for the info
I Don't know why you didn't compare the outlander Plug in hybrid with the Rav 4 plug in ????
Guys - thanks for creating content we want to see. This video is great example - RAV4 vs Outlander. The former the best seller, the latter the slightly cheaper 3 row.
I enjoy your videos very much!
Happy to hear that!
Excellent job, boys. Another Stellular review and very fair comparison.
Thanks!
Awesome review
Nice video!
I bought a 2024 Outlander ES ..I replaced a 2016 Smart Fortwo with it lol. The warranty and styling swayed me over any of the competition.
Just last year I was looking for my very first new car, thinking of these two exactly. But since Mitsubishi dont sell Outlander in Europe anymore I chose Rav4 hybrid 4x4 instead and despite I really wanted Outlander, I absolutely love my Toyota now 😊😊🇨🇿. Thanks for video !
Didn’t like the RAV. It’s too noisy which is very obvious in your acceleration segment. I chose a CX5 turbo instead and it’s been great. No stupid CVT and drives brilliantly.
I'm sure you didn't drive a Hybrid trim of Rav4. That's much smoother, quieter and quicker than the gas model. And regarding CVT its damn reliable than most automatic transmissions as well, it worn less over time. It's entirely different from traditional CVTs, don't compare. I like Mazda as well but just want to clarify that.
@@Gopinathk17There was not much point test driving the hybrid because it was a 2 year wait time to get a new one. There were a few being sold privately but they were asking over $80,000. I’m old school and prefer the petrol engine with auto transmission. The CX5 thus far has been great.
Cvt for the rav 4 is an ECVT and it only comes on the hybrid models. Gas models have an automatic.
That chime on the RAV4 😂.
What good is a review of Rav Prime if we can’t get one for two years?
Reliability, mpgs and Resale value make RAV4 the winner. But I really liked that interiors of Outlander.
Me too. My Gma has a RAV4 but my uncle has the new Outlander, and I prefer the design of the Outlander although the RAV4 is definitely a better financial choice.
I have looked at both, both are great looking cars but I loved the XSE Rav 4 exterior/ interior a lot better plus Toyota offers you a Capped service for 5 years. Mitsubishi 10 years warranty is good but the services are very Expensive plus to have 10 years warranty you have to get them to service it. I have ordered an XSE Rav 4 Toyota’s the only bad thing is the 18 month wait for Hybrid RAV4’s.
outlander ofcourse! rav4 looks way to outdated. sorry but mitsubishi looks way way better reminds me of the looks of BMW X6
Outlander looks so damn good inside AND out
As a Toyota and Mitsubishi Owner, I would definitely choose the Mitsubishi 100% - I owned both brands and still do, Toyota is overrated.
😂
I agree. Mitsubishi is underrated too. We've had 3 in the family since 2014 and we've all liked ours. The reliability overall has been good. Love the long warranties too if things go wrong.
@@palebeachbumDefinitely Mitsubishi is underrated. I don’t get the people who dismiss them easily when they provide extreme value for money.
@@mrgurulittle7000 It’s just a Nissan rogue.
Same here we own 7 Mitsubishis & 2 Toyotas, we love both brands but we do prefer Mitsubishi because it offers more for the money and it’s very reliable.
With it sharing much of its body with the Nissan rogue I could never purchase one due to this. I drove a loaded one my neighbor has to pick up a tv and it had absolutely no power. RAV4 is my pick!
I am pretty sure the Outlander SEL has rain sensing wipers. Also has headlight washers
Outlander all day everyday. S-AWC. Named the safest SUV for the year 2023 by U.S. News. Won top 10 interiors of 2021.
Glad that I will buy a fully loaded 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.
There is an Outlander PHEV as well
Have to remember no one paying msrp for outlander but you are for rav4. Likely large discount. Also reliability kind of a wash with much better warranty. Net buy what you like more.
7:23😂Mjf theme
you guys are missing one important thing: how refined and smooth the engin and transmission feel
Leased a 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV SEL in October for $552/mo. Liked it at first and then the more I drove it, the more I realized it wasn't the car for me. Just waiting for my lease to end at this point.
Why didn’t it work for you? I’m in the market lol
@@verynick well, there were a few things that bothered me that I can’t get over. First of all, my outlander is getting repaired right now for rodent damage to the electric motor wires, which is taking over 5 weeks to repair so far. Very frustrating. And when everything works correctly, the hybrid engine is still lacking in many areas for me. The power delivery could be better. Sometimes there is too much lag in throttle response. On another note, it’s advertised as getting 38 miles on a single charge, but I average right around 32 miles with an average speed of 50 mph. I also hate that when you’re in hybrid mode, the battery drains almost instantly and then you’re left with a 23 mpg combustion engine which sucks. Might as well just keep it in electric mode and use the battery that way. Hybrid mode is just useless putting it simply. Quality of work leaves a lot to be desired too. Looks nice in pictures, but after living with it, can’t help but start to feel the cheapness of it. Infotainment system is also faulty, especially when trying to connect to Apple CarPlay. Not to rant about it too much, but you have to ask your is it economically worth it for your specific needs. If you just need a larger vehicle that you drive less than 30 miles a day, then it’s something to look into. It’s definitely not the ideal hybrid for road trips, or even 100 mile trip. For 23 mpg, I’d rather just get a pickup truck. But to each their own. I thought I wanted a hybrid, but this one is just not for me. Hope this helps. Good luck to you though.
I have a outlander phev sel. I'm sad to here it hasn't worked out for you. My experience has been great none of those problems. I have gotten 50 Miles on one charge (but only once. Usually 42-44. Wife doesn't even get 25.) but it's not perfect. And in my humble opinion for the $$ I don't know what I'll buy again. Maybe just a gas version. I can buy a lot of gas fo $10k
@@dannycalderon8516 I appreciate that and am glad you are enjoying yours! Just not my taste is all. The massage seats are pretty bad as well. They should’ve just implemented ventilated seats
@@jjpark1989 I agree on the statement 100%
I bought my first RAV4 last year. I have had absolutely no issues with it. My sister had a Mitsubishi, but it wasn't this particular model. The initial quality wasn't bad, but it was all downhill from there. Mitsubishi has never been a reliable vehicle for anyone! Mitsubishi almost always ranks near the bottom of the reliability list, where Toyota always ranks at number 1. My wife and I took a tour of the plant in Georgetown Kentucky. I was thoroughly impressed at the way everything was out together, quality checked throughout the process. They have their own book of the quality manufacturing process, and it has to be followed to the T. If their is a problem, the line is immediately stopped and the process or parts are then replaced or fixed, then the line can start again. We were there for about 2 hours, and the line never stopped once. I will always be a Toyota customer for that reason!
1/2 point for a THIRD ROW. Hmm. That makes it a 7 passenger adding 2 more people to bring along and the size of the seat shouldn’t be considered as the seat is there. I see Full Points awarded for a lot less on your comparisons. Serious!
In Canada RAV doesn't come with Panoramic sunroof.
The mitsy has character and finesse, ive got a 2.3 di-d and its an animal that will go anywhere.
Outlander is not really an underdog. Its not really good in Canada. Many phev owners have trouble starting them in winter. Battery shuts off to protect mode
I’d take a Mitsubishi over a Toyota any day
Of cource my pick is Toyota Raw 4, because it is hybrid and mutch bettter reabitity, reasale value
Bigger rims does not necessarily mean better
We have an outlander awc. The regular model, did not want 20 inch tires for off road in Idaho. Put bf Goodrich trail t/a on. Gets significantly better gas mileage than advertised for highway 33 at 75. 36 at under 70. Town right on. 25000 miles. No problems. 34000 out the door 2022. In California, from Idaho. But go back and forth. Has some options. Watch the dealerships. Try ripping us off in service department. Said needed back brakes and rotors. Lies. I’ve worked on cars and we watch Scotty Kilmer.
The only reason to get the Toyota is if you need reliable A to B transportation and you dc about anything else. I guess also a close dealer network (mitsu’s is SMALL). The rav4, camry and corolla are all reliable but painfully boring and dull. I test drove all 3 over the years and found at least one rival to drive better; recently ended up with a Civic over a Corolla.
Mitsubishi just had to do some Extra to put this on sale...The outlander looks really good but feels not in this segment...except that the Rav 4 has to grow In size by the next Gen
The Outlander punches above it's weight class as far as design and amenities go but the Nissan drivetrain is a deal breaker for me. Those Jatco transmissions are ticking time bombs.
Toyota for sure . In all means it’s number 1 . Outlander looks fine but these cars need time to know if they are really reliable or not .
For me i take RAV4 no question to ask
wow outlander looks like a car from the future. looks like nissan GTR but SUV edition...and rav4 is just a poor mens car.
Def get a Mazda CX5 over either of these
Outlander has the better warranty. You have to figure in the cost of repairs
I vote for neither!
I own a drive Mitsubishi outlander 😉 i had my eye set on the new outlander phev however afrr finding outit has no spare wheel ? Well that killed the sale for me as i live in South Africa, and this is the last place in this earth you want to be stuck on The side of the rd.. .it would mean your demise.
Mitsubishi ❤️
The Mitsubishi looks much better and the PHEV is great👍 I would definitely pick the Outlander
i would buy a rav4 than is not ev and not hybrid. and i will buy an outlander if its without turbo, gdi , and without cvt.
RAV 4 ♾♾🙌🏻🙌🏻
seriously? with toyota rav4??? lol rav4 wins every inch of corner
Rav4 is outdated, needs a next gen. Outlander, unless in love with the styling, just get the Rogue it was refreshed for '24 and has a great new infotainment on SL and Platinum trims.
The design has stayed mostly the same, but the actual tech isn’t dated (safety + infotainment etc). I would guess it will be redesigned for the 26 model year.
@@MattCC16Gaming But that's far off, and the Outlander is just a Nissan Rogue wearing a different dress. So it makes more sense to get the Rogue that already has the new engine, the new transmission, and new infotainment system. This is all using outdated Rogue parts still.
The warranty on the Outlander is for much longer.
@@BoopSnootsorry for the confusion, I was referring to the RAV4. I should have specified.
@@MattCC16Gaming 👍🏾
Toyota is the brand you buy if you want to announce to other drivers that you're slow and have the personality of vanilla ice cream.
I would pick the RAV4
The Outlander is a rebadged nissan .....that equates to a horrible reliability
41 mpg for the Rav4 vs 26 for the Outlander. Easy choice.
Its like comparing hybrid vs gasoline, anyone will chose hybrid
Rav4 & CRV both feature in top 10 most stolen cars in US & Canada... that itself should get 10.5 points 😂😂😂
Also, Top Insurance paid brand cars too .. that we can rate as -1 point atleast ;)
I truly despise the RAV4. The interior looks AND feels sooooo chintzy, pretty much like every other Toyota I sat in. The doors sound tinny when you shut them. I honestly would hate to be seen in one, ngl 😂
You sound a little jelly. The RAV4 obviously outsells the Mitsubishi and everyone else for a reason.
@@majorstack7214 - It's a garbage vehicle, there's no arguing that. It has one of the most cramped interiors in its class. Very little features for the money. A harsh, noisy ride. Seats that are very uncomfortable and interior panels that are very cheap to the touch and creak often. Engines start consuming or burning oil bad right before 100K miles. I once fell for the false indoctrination that they were good vehicles. They're crap vehicles
I would choose Rav-4 every single time.
the outlander is so underrated.. the mitsubishi crushes the rav4. the rav4 has no tech, no luxury features or anything. idk why people are so dumb and keep buying those rav 4's lol
Owned a Mitsubishi. Complete nightmare. Poor reliability. I’ve sworn off Mitsubishi. Never again
I love Toyota. But I always hate those purple striped seats in Toyotas! They look like ugly striped pajamas.
I’ll take the Yota 10/10
Neither because Mitsubishi their colors are just not it. Toyota RAV4. It's reliable but it's too expensive. It's like too pricey, especially if you get a fully loaded limited. You have to option everything on to the limited instead of it coming standard. So for me neither
Yes. The Outlander colors are so boring and generic. The RAV4 is very pricey.
Subaru Forester is better than both of them.
Forester? LoL no, the new one looks old like old, the rear looks like the 2013-2015 Outlander lol and the interior is outdated lmao.
@@rapide12345 Some random guy's shitty taste in what "looks good" isn't really all that important. Are you a car designer? The Forester is a FAR better vehicle than either of them. The AWD is superior, as is the visibility, safety features and quality of build. AND it's 10k less than the over priced Rav4. Rav4 can't even compete off road.
@@gergnotsloh Not really, the Forester isn't, the Outlander has a way way better interior, the Outlander handles better, has a better AWD System for on-roads with Mitsubishi's S-AWC system with brake vectoring AYC, the Outlander is quieter with dual pane acoustic glass, the Outlander was named the safest SUV for 2023 by U.S news, both the RAV4 and Outlander offer Hybrid versions, the Outlander is made in Japan, the RAV4 is quicker than any Forester and has better fuel efficiency, the only thing that the Forester is better at is probably for off-road lol, it doesn't even have a fully digital instrument cluster, amd it's quite disappointing, a new 2024 car that looks more like a facelift compared to am actually ALL NEW model, I don't hate Subaru, it's just their new models are really really underwhelming.
RAV4 overated
The interior design of the Toyota RAV4 is ugly. Toyota cars are often overrated.
Stopped the video when I heard similar to the Nissan CVT
the Outlander is a mess all that piano black, terrible gas mileage and extra hidden storage is preferable to that ridiculous third row
I wouldn't take that Mitsubishi even if it was free!!!
Who buys Mitsubishis anymore?
People who want a reliable vehicle with a long warranty.
People who can’t get approved by Toyota
@@palebeachbumMitsubishi isn’t more reliable than Toyota and its not more popular than Toyota either
@@CollinMac96 - I got approved for a Toyota when my credit score was just a hair over 600 😂 It ain't that hard
You conclusion is LAME! I will never choose a Mitsubishi CVT transmission over a TOYOTA transmission!
They've been reliable and you get a much better warranty withe Outlander.
The Mitsubishi Outlander Is a Nissan Rogue in Disguise 🤦♂️😄
So what are you trying to say ? Mitsubishi power-train is mitsu's own engineering and yes they shared platform for cost strategy similar things done by Toyota in the past and present like, in india Toyota and Maruti Suzuki already in effective.
No, you can't actually call it a Nissan Rogue.
Yes Because it is joint project of nissan and mitsubishi. Rouge and Outlander are sharing some designs, components, parts and engineering.
These cars are so boring!!! Yawn!!! No hot gurl wants no Toyota or a Mitsubishi!!! Who ever heard of a Mitsubishi??? In case any hot guys want a taste of this priceless donk hit me up with a Bimmer or Benz!!!!!!
You sound like you make bad financial decisions. lol
@@palebeachbum That’s why my hair is straight, my grills are gold, and my yams are on point boo boo!!!! Jealous?????
@@thebigone6071 what a mess. Smh
This review to me just sounded like: “let’s try everything we can to give the better score to the overall inferior RAV4”. Every Toyota I’ve ever been in (and there have been several of all makes and models) have felt cheap, tacky and basic. Can’t say the same about every Mitsubishi I’ve been in though.
