Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a poor farmer named Jack. He had a hen that laid ordinary eggs every day. One day, while working in his fields, Jack discovered a shiny golden egg in the hen's nest. He couldn't believe his eyes!
Excitedly, Jack took the golden egg home and showed it to his wife. They were both amazed and wondered how such a marvelous egg came from their ordinary hen. They decided to wait and see what would happen the next day.
The next morning, to their surprise, the hen laid another golden egg! Jack and his wife were overjoyed. They soon realized that their hen was special and could lay one golden egg every day.
Word of the magical hen spread throughout the village, and soon, people from far and wide came to see the golden eggs. Jack and his wife became wealthy, and they no longer had to worry about being poor.
However, their newfound wealth made them greedy. They started expecting more golden eggs every day and became unhappy with just one. They thought if they could get all the golden eggs at once, they would become even richer.
One day, Jack decided to cut open the hen to get all the golden eggs at once. But when he did, he found that there were no more golden eggs inside. The hen was just like any other ordinary hen.
Jack and his wife realized their mistake. They had been greedy and had lost the source of their wealth. From that day on, they regretted their actions and learned to be content with what they had.
The moral of the story is that greediness leads to loss, and it's important to be grateful for what you have.
