🥒 ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

  • Irish Moss is a seaweed that was originally found near Ireland hence the name. The Irish consumed Irish moss during the famine of the 19th century in Ireland. The seaweed grows on rocks in Jamaica. Irish migrants to Jamaica brought the tradition of the Irish Moss. It is one of Jamaica’s most notorious drinks among men (and some women) who seek “vigor”.

  • Excellent video! Thank you for respecting our traditions here🤗 A lot of traditional Rastafari don't cook with salt. We call it 'ital food'. In special cases we add salt to food when we cater to outsiders so the food isn't too bland😅

  • Absolutely loved the concept of the levels of Rastafarian food. More and more people are realizing the health benefits of going meat free. ive been a vegetarian all my life, moving towards becoming a vegan (just have to quit yogurt) and trying to fast atleast 1 day a week. I try not to eat anything solid at all. just fluids which is mainly 5-6 glasses of hot water, some buttermilk, some juice or some fruits or raw veggies like cucumber, tomatoes and carrots. Im trying to take this fasting to the next level by eating 1 solid food just once a day. Its amazing how easily you can get rid of so many life style diseases by just changing your diet. Even my vision improved naturally in the last 6 months time. no headaches, no body aches, no muffin top belly, no lethargy. im 47 but dont look a day over 35. The best alternative to gluten food is millets. either whole or using millet flour to make flat breads, use in soups. MIllets are a power house of nutrients compared to wheat flour or rice.

    • Doesn't matter if you are vegan or carnivore. For every diet there are people that thrive on it. The most important thing is to cut out junk like sugar and processed foods. Fasting is great, you should aim for longer times without any food. It gets easy with pratice.

    • You tried vegan yogurts? Not sure where you're from but in most parts of USA vegan yogurts are easy to find now. Is millet any better or worse than quinoa? I cook it sometimes but don't really know what to do with it. Use it the way i use quinoa. intersting idea w the millet flour
