I hope so too. I hope they sort with a youngish cast based on the original team. I want them to take their time and follow the X-Men mythology as the comics laid it out and build up to the biggest moments in their history.
Exactly! Then in the second movie you speed up the time line a little and add storm, WOLVERINE, nightcrawler, colossus, and maybe rouge or jubilee. If it's rogue she has to interact with captain marvel. The third should be a full 90' lineup. Storyline should be the phoenix saga not dark phoenix. Sins of the father storyline and house of x to end the trilogy. That would be prefect.
You can start with the original 5, and meet Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Storm, & Colossus through the course of the film.

Rogue and Cyclops are the true heros of X-Men 97 and I just LOVE this! it seems like the writers of 97 are deliberately fixing the bad impression left by the Fox movies who have been abusing these characters for years.
Rogue shows up in Captain Marvel 3. In that movie, she completely absorbs Cap't Marvel's powers.

Classic Claremont lineup. I like it as long as they don't beat us to death with a dumb love triangle. I prefer it when Scott and Logan have that "we butt heads but respect and ride for each other" dynamic. My other worry is that Scott gets treated more like Jean's accessory than his own man. I do love this lineup if they bring back the Logan/Kurt friendship.

They've already gone balls deep in the stories of Jean, Rogue and Mystique. It's high time for a balanced story that can explore other characters beyond the aforementioned ones and Charles, Wolverine and Magneto. If theres only spots for exploring six teammembers backgrounds I'd pick Cyclops, Gambit, Iceman on the hero team and Blob, Avalanche and Toad on the villains team while both teams have other members around, but not going that deep into, like Storm, Wolverine, Jean and Colossus on the heroes side with Magneto, Mystique, Pyro and Rogue (yes, going original with her origin) on the Brotherhoods side. I would also have a class of younger mutants make up the senior class at the institute, vying to become their own X-team.
I'm sorry but in order for xmen to feel like xmen and be successful, they have to lean on characters like wolverine, magneto, cyclops, prof x, jean grey and storm. They're the top x men characters. It's like making an avengers film that only lean on captain marvel instead of iron man and captain america. It simply wouldn't work. This xmen reboot has bust written all over it if their whole focus is simply on the female characters in order to pander and make a political statement. You can call me sexist if you want, but its the honest truth. Nobody wants to watch an xmen movie with jubilee as the lead character. Xmen already have their top characters established, everyone else is a supporting cast member.
@@cosmedix I agree that the female statement is a very bad sign, but if they wanted to do things differently than what Fox did, then rotating the focus of X-men from movie to movie would be a nice way to go. I didnt mean that only the ones I listed should be the focus of every movie, but rather just the first one and then change it up in the next according to what the story needs. Say they have Mr Sinister as the bad guy. Then it would make sense to have Cyclops and Jean be the focus in that movie, but if it was Azazel then Nightcrawler, Mystique and Rogue would be focus. See what I mean?

I still feel that Jean Gray, cyclops wolverine and gambit would be fun to see on the big screen. I do believe that they should have Jean Gray and rogue and storm backstory on like a TV show kind of thing . I think that would be interesting.
I would always go back to the original team-up - Cyclops, Jean Grey, Angel, Beast and IceMan. But if they want to focus on females (why?) you’d need to include Storm and Rogue - but I also think that Gambit should also be included - plus Wolverine, of course!!

Makes a ton of sense to get some X-Men in before secret wars. And i personally love it.
I think Rogue would be a good candidate for a solo project. They could do a Cross over with Captain Marvel so we get to see where Rogue gets that portion of her powers from. And maybe some other fun Mutant cameos could be included like Mystique. I also think Gambit would be fun for a solo project to get in more background from his time in the Thieves Guild. For the main X-Men team just give them the same as the X-Men animated Series. If it aint broke dont fix it

My X-Men team is Cyclops, Wolverine, Kitty Pride, Storm and Nightcrawler. Solo stories: Wolverine, Magneto, Mr. Sinister, Colosus/ Iiyana, and Gambit/ Rogue. First villain a new Brotherhood led by Mystique and then Sinister. The X-Men have SO many great storylines to draw from. They've got Avengers-style events for the end of each phase.
I would like to see some OGs and some younger mutants as well as some lesser known characters.

They are basically stuck doing a multi-versal version of the time travel aspect from Hickman's Krakoan Age with aspects of the time displaced X-Men story. You do the original team before Beast was hairy in a retro style with Fantastic Four, then you do a weird TV show version of X-Factor but put them in a dystopian future that sometimes includes characters like Cable, Bishop, Sentinel Prime, Nimrod, and Rasputin IV. Make that X-Factor led by Havok, then after the retro X-Men film you do a soapy drama about the shady dealings of Professor X with the villain being Vulcan.

I don't see how the X-Men team can be anything outside of Cyclops, Jean Gray, Rogue, Beast, Storm, Wolverine and Gambit. I feel like this is the most recognized version of the team, and going outside of this to introduce new characters would probably be off-putting to the general audience. But I'm open to interpretations and a good reboot. LFG!

The anticipation for the MCU X-Men is killing me!
Here's what I'd propose with proposed requirements. The POV character since we want someone not seen in the films: we're introduced to is Armor, though she hasn't quite mastered her powers yet when we first meet her. Established field team is made up of: Storm, Cyclops, Wolverine, Kitty, Mirage & Gambit. With Beast, Jean Grey & Forge running technical support at the mansion with Xavier. During a mission, Armor takes Kitty's spot after the latter is injured by Magneto. On the villains side: You'd have Magneto leading Mystique, Sabertooth, Mastermind, Marrow, & Rogue (Though she switches sides during the film thanks to some persuasion from Gambit). Post credit scene has Bishop and Cable.
So excited to finally get the X-Men in the MCU! Can't wait to see how they bring them in.

Although there's a part of my heart that says it's only right to spotlight the OG XMen, admittedly my favorite characters are Gambit and Wolverine. I do like the idea of Rogue starting out evil as in the comics and eventually the change of heart. I think that Captain Marvel already being introduced leads to an intriguing opportunity to feature some version of her and Rogues history as well. Down the road i think the Hellfire Club, Sinister, Sabretooth, Omega Red all need to make it to MCU film. Hell, Black Widow, Red Guardian, etc could be used as an intro for not only Omega Red but a story got Magik and Colossus, maybe a miniseries.

I would love to see the first X-Men film be inspired after Pryde of the X-Men storyline. Having a young mutant Kitty Pryde coming into her powers at a young vulnerable age, and learning about what mutants are and Xavier’s school - introducing us to the X-Men team as a whole and from there is a full focused X-Men movie with the core originals - Jean, Cyclops, Iceman, Beast, Angel. I would then in one of the first solo films following be a Rogue centered story. Following her story as first being troubled lost angry, joining the Brotherhood of Mutants, being more so portrayed as an antagonist at first, with a storyline involving her pitted against Captain Marvel where she takes her powers, etc etc, before joining the X-Men team. This would also provide a way to introduce the Brotherhood line up and flesh those characters out more too as well. I think this would make for two first really great introductory X movies. I would also love to see Storm first show up in the next Wakanda film before joining the X-Men
I don't think it should focus on a female or a male. Just write a good X Men movie about the TEAM Dynamics. Focus on that first just adapt a comic story. Don't miss the beats. X-Men work best when you write them as a TEAM the Guardians Of The Galaxy movies worked well because they wrote them as a team. First movie you saw who they were as individuals. 2nd and 3rd you saw how that impacted team dynamics I think on Disney Plus you can focus on individual stories. Doesn't matter who you pick male or female Xmen just write a good stories

I feel like for Live Action, the thing they should do is give us a X-Men show first before a movie. Professor X assembles a team (Doesn't exactly have to be the OG line-up from the comics either). This way, they can do a one episode backstory for every member they want to have on the team (And then Wolverine not being alongside the initial recruits, since he got his time to shine in Deapool vs Wolverine). Like, we got 5 other X-Men, alongside Professor X in the comics, but i think a tv show can expand that to at least 10. Heck, this way, they can even do the assembling of the X-Men in the last episode, which then comes to full fruition as a team in Secret Wars. So if they do this, the ideal team for me at the end would be Professor X Jean Grey Cyclops Beast Rogue Gambit Nightcrawler Jubilee Mystique Then the end credits scene are going to be Professor X and Jean Grey having heard about the escapades of Wolverine and Deadpool and going to recruit Wolverine (But not Deadpool, as he is missing).
Focus on Cyclops, Jean, Beast, IceMan and Angel! Then introduce Storm, Colossus, Wolverine, Nightcrawler and Rogue. Then Gambit, ShadowCat, Emma Frost and Psylocke! Then others can have cameos and references!
