But what would it take to win over more voters before the general election? Our correspondent Clare Fallon has been to the West Midlands, where Labour won a very slim majority to unseat Tory mayor Andy Street.

  • The problem is not the Conservative government per se. What has happened is that we reached a point where the Nation knows that its assets are being raped and pillaged by people who care nothing for England, only for profit. Thames Water is but one example where next year the taxpayer will likely pick up a £15 Billion debt, largely caused not by a British comapny failure, but by a previous greedy Australian owner which extracted huge monies by borrowing, and then sold the company on with its debt in 2017. There are so many failed examples where the state has left market forces decide on dividends, whilst the taxpayer acts as backstop for the debts. The British people are fed up with being ripped off and sold down the (polluted) river.

Labour lead the tories in competence in every area the pollsters measure, even the economy, law and order and immigration. Labour keep taking safe tory seats and winning by elections by some of the biggest swings ever post war. You have to contort the numbers into misshapen pretzels to extract anything other than a catastrophic tory defeat and a labour landslide out of them. But they keep doing it. And whats even funnier is they still seem to think someone out here in the real world will believe them
