  • That female commentator was right. She said Kelly's mistake is/was that he decides to stand and trade with him, which is not his strongest suit. She was right, he jumped right into the shark's territory.

    • I remember hearing that part as well and I agreed with her. But I think Josh didn't have a choice because he was gassed out. Moving around the ring like he did in the early rnds was out the window when you're exhausted and thats why i thinj he started to stay flat footed and trade blows.

    • I liked him up close, pushing the guy back with his weight. And smothering the other dudes. Then open up only when he wanted. The footwork wasn’t helping, it was just letting the other guy time him.

  • Kelly looks too big here. He also needs to practice keeping his hands up, that defense works until you get into higher competition. Definitely someone who looks better than he is. This going to take a toll on his mental and physical in the future, shout out to the corner who saved him some years on his life.

    • @@OffBrisk He's like Broner. He tries to use it purely to look "cool". They're both trying to look like somebody they're not, and it just doesn't work. It never ceases to amaze me how many guys think they can just CHOOSE to use the Philly shell one day, like it's a switch you can just flip on or something lol. The instinct, punch anticipation, and reflexes you need to properly use it take years and years to develop. It's such an advanced technique and 99% of guys simply cannot do it.

  • I know it's a minor thing but that was a perfect towel toss. Half the time the thing barely floats into the ring and the ref barely notices, that was a perfect sailing shot right in front of the ref.

    • @@high.already @M4 Productions The Philly Shell is for rolling with punches and firing right back. Kelly in my view isn't adept at rolling punches more generally, and if that's the case the philly shell sure isn't going to be of benefit. I think Kelly is fighter who should be on his front foot, not the back foot like he's been doing recently. He's no defensive talent but the one thing he does have is wicked speed, reflexes and agility. He should be fighting on his front foot throwing combinations and then eluding like a Carl Frampton or Nonito Donaire. That's who he is, a combination throwing slickster. He aint a Tank Davis.

    • @@ademeta1994 For an Olympian, Kelly's skills and fight iq are pretty low in my opinion. It's not about the problem of gas tank or focus. When David took away his jab, Kelly simply had no answer.

    • His whole style is based on posing. Not much substance at all behind the flash. He looks spectacular and dynamic and he wows you and the crowd oohs and ahhs, and then you notice he's actually getting hit a LOT. Happens every time he fights really.

    • @@joys8634 you probably don’t know how “roids” work, Jones could of been using roids because 6 weight classes he went through. But canelo was fighting at welterweight since 16 years old and moved up to light middleweight at 20. For those who don’t weight lift 20-30 is a long time to put on at least 15 pounds of muscle with the proper diet and weight lifting I doubt he used a “steroids” he most likely uses some sort of fat burner or something that helps with stamina or endurance boxers don’t need “roids” they need drugs specially for their type of traning and “roids” isn’t exactly the smartest thing to use.

    • He does NOT have the skill to the shell. He also needs to work on his footwork. For a former Olympian, Kelly has not really impressed me. Also If I'm not mistaken, he started off in a higher weight class when he turned pro as well. Shameful...

The rematch it was it was the opposite, Andy ruiz got too confident and AJ was on a mission lost all that extra muscle for speed and Andy ruiz put on some 20 extra pounds of fat form all that celebrating. Now Andy is traning with canelo and lost those extra pounds, we’ll see the best versions of both of them if there’s a 3rd fight.
