Thank you so much! After releasing this video we had a Common Potoo land right outside our cabin! So the birding is still going really well 🙂
Wow never seen so many birds! Great job thanks for sharing ❤

Really enjoyed this mate 👍🏻 . Thank you
Can't wait to make to Ecuador someday!
Even if you can only make it out for a week, it's worth it. The photos you can get in 1 day is amazing, let alone a whole week!
GREAT ART

This is amazing! I would defiantly wanna go birding in Ecuador.
Amazing experience!
Thanks! It is definitely an unforgettable trip so far. Glad you enjoyed 🙂
This is mind blowing! What amazing photos....I am awestruck and understand how incredible this must be to see live! Thanks for sharing....I can’t believe the beauty of these birds.
Thank you so much! It is a lot to take in. When we first got here we just kept spinning around cause there was birds all around us haha.
Thankyou for the unique video...I have been spotting Scarlet Tanengers here in my woods along Lake Michigan coastline.
Outstanding. Don’t get to trigger happy. Composition is key differentiator for capturing a good story.
Thanks a lot! I definitely agree! I've been slowing down and thinking about composition more in the last few days, especially with the species I have a decent photo of already. When i find a new species I'm still trying to get that initial photo just to have as a record shot. 🙂
Fabulous 👌
Beautiful work, looking forward to seeing more of your trip. Would also love to hear about where you stayed
Thank you! I'll be making a video when I get back of the places I stayed, costs, experiences, etc 🙂
So many wonderful birds, congratulations!!!
Thank you 🙂
Awesome 👍 look forward to seeing more incredible images in the next uploads 👋🔥
Thank you so much and thanks for watching 😀

NICE work there! thanks
Thank you for watching! Glad you enjoyed 😁
Hummingbird in the rain stole my heart:)!! OMGoodness:) I am so happy that I have found your channel. It is such a pleasure to listen to you. You are very gifted with a smile on the face:)
Loved this video!!! Hummingbirds are my FAVORITE! I wish there were more than just Ruby Throated in my area; it’s amazing to see all the beautiful varieties Ecuador has to offer!
Thank you!! It is pretty spectacular and we've only seen about 10 species so far. I agree, it will be hard to go back home to only 1 species. But at least it's a pretty one 😁
Magnificient 😯
Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed 🙂
@@StefanoIaniro it wa really amazing 😊
@@RustamMaharramov Thanks! The birds make it a lot easier to get great photos 😅

Thank you 😀
Hope everyone is having a great week! I didn't plan to edit any videos while in Ecuador, but I also didn't want to leave you guys high and dry for a month haha. So here is a video on our first full day of birding/photography in Ecuador. I'll be premiering this video at 6PM GMT -5, and I'll be in the chat about a half hour before then to chat with everyone. I hope to see you there, and hope you will enjoy the video, happy birding!

Amazing! Can you tell me if you ever used the A7R4 on "crop mode" to extend the effective focal length? Or is this all done in post?
new to the channel, so inspired by your bird photography videos.

Nice video Stefano! Looked like an awesome place. Well done my friend!
Thank you, Trond! It is one of the nicest jungles I've been in. Glad you enjoyed 😀
Awesome video and thanks for sharing some good tips photographing in the jungle! COVID 19 has delayed our trip to Ecuador for two years now, hopefully I can be there this autumn!
Well done. Thanks for the inspiration. God bless

I have seen a lot of bird photography videos and I must say that this is the best yet! Beautiful captures!! You definitely kept my attention and I was at no point bored! I am a new subscriber! Thanks for the video!
That's great to hear. Thank you so much! Very glad you enjoyed 🙂
Fantastic job, and I read multiple comments and I agree that your channel will soon explode if you keep releasing such videos! We can really feel the passion! You must be very happy with this new gear, A7R4 + 200-600 :)
Thank you so much! I'm glad you think so. And it's been killer so far for photos. A really fun combo to photograph with!
Way too cool .... ENJOY
Thank you!! 😀
Hello Stefano, absolute great videos and what's even more important - great enthusiasm for birds and nature! I'm going to Ecuador the beginning of July with my equipment and if will be able to take only some nice photos the kind you did - I will be very happy! All the best to you, Keep on birding! Thomas
lovely birds shot, man!!!
Thank you so much!!
Awesome stills and videos Stefano... Been waiting for this Ecuador edition of your style.. Unbelievable colors I mean that tanager.. Its in my whistlist now ecuador one day one day... And its just 1day...happy birding... Cheers from Borneo island
Thank you so much! I highly recommend visiting Ecuador if you ever get the chance. What's crazy is with a lot of these photos, I've actually turned down the saturation a bit and increased the vibrancy just a bit. Crazy how great the colors are out of the a7r4! Glad you enjoyed 🙂
Awesome footage sir!!
Thank you!!
Great video Stefano! We went to Mindo some years ago and the excitement on your face reminds me how I felt while we were there. Such an amazing place and I'm now inspired to go back. The A7RIV 200-600 combination is also serving you well (it is clear it is in good hands).
Thank you so much! It is seriously one of, if not my favorite place I've visited. And everyday I'm loving the a7r4/200-600 more and more. The combination is stellar!
Have to say those photos having amazing detail and those colors! Nice
Thank you! Honestly the a7r4 is really blowing me away. The colors straight out of camera and details are incredible!
@@StefanoIaniro I agree... colors are much improved over the A7RM3. I too see a big difference and I'm shocked more reviewers aren't mentioning this fact. Also ,the AF on the R4 is a much faster and more accurate than the 7R3 or 7M3. I think it's a very well rounded camera
Agreed! This is the first camera that I've owned that really feels like the complete package. Very happy so far!
@@StefanoIaniro agreed. The R3 is a great camera, but the A7RIV is a more complete package. Cant wait to see the results when your back from the trip. Take care
@@njrtech Thanks a lot! And thanks for watching
The images you got are so beautiful! Also, you seem to be very happy, which makes the video even more enjoyable to watch haha
I'm very glad you enjoyed them. It was hard for me to contain my excitement 😅
WoW WoW WoW lucky you, very nice. Now I want a birding trip to Ecuador. I have the a7lll and the 200-600mm. I could spend a day or 6 right at the feeders.
Thank you! And haha the feeders are actually so much fun. It's hard to leave them when they're so productive. Some afternoons I'd have 10-15 species visiting the fruit feeders, and then another 5-8 visiting the hummingbird feeders. Amazing considering the backyard birds I have back home.
You deserve a MILLIONS OF SUBSCRIBERS
Thank you for sharing not just the beautiful pictures you captured but your emotions been there. This video make me wish to got to Ecuador. Hoping this pandemic ends soon so we can plan a trip like this. Any problem handholding this high pixel camera ?

Thanks a lot, Francis! When I make my way back to Belize we should definitely link up, shoot some vids and make some photos!
Wow. Now I'm subscribed. And I want to go to Ecuador!
I'd love to go back right about now 😀
great video
Hi Stefano, great video! Amazing experience. Can you comment more about the 200-600 paired with the A7IV in terms of AF consistency during bursts? I saw a post at the fredmiranda forum where some people are getting a lot of OOF images with this specifically combo.
Wonderful video and pics! I’m just gonna call it, this channel is gonna blow up!
Awh thanks dude! That means a lot!
Excellent works! I am puzzling on 100-400 or 200-600 on A7R IV or A9. How you would consider which to choose for bird shooting?
Great video
Thank you so much!
Awesome video I have just bought the A7iv and the 200-600 And I live in Quito Ecuador You can imagine how super helpful has this video been. You inspire me I am curious to know the place in Mindo where you shot this video? Thanks again!
Hello.. Thanks for bringing us such wonderful video series from Ecuador... absolutely love these birds... Also, I am thinking about switching to this combo - a7r iv + 200-600.. Could you please review how it works out in crop mode + high ISO?
Thank you glad you enjoyed! A lot of these images from the video were taken in crop mode. In terms of ISO, I try my best not to shoot over ISO 3200. If you shoot a lot at higher ISOs like 6400 and above, you'd likely have to use a noise reduction software like Topaz Denoise. I've been getting surprisingly good results with the camera on a tripod, shutter speed around 1/50s, and ISO between 2000-3200. It's really dark here in the jungle lol
This is amazing man, love your shots so professional and your music choice of music is spot on, something I royally suck at lol. You be safe down there enjoy the Jounrey man
Haha thanks Romolo! I go through a lot of bad music to eventually find some songs that fit the video. Glad you enjoy man!
Stefano Ianiro Wildlife nah you have a gift, or idk how to search it properly maybe I’m too old for music 😝😉😂

Man, the photos are spectacular! Just subscribed yesterday :) I now also own this camera combo and looking forward to testing it out in the next coming weeks. Are you still using the A7rIV with 200-600?
Awov!
Hi Stefano, Where were you staying in Mindo, Ecuador? I'm moving to Ecuador in March and can't wait to start exploring. I loved your videos and stills of the hummingbirds and I hope to do the same some time soon!
Great video Stefano! Had to show this to my girlfriend as we would so much like a trip to Equador and see some of the birds you showed in the video :) I'll have to quiz you on where to go one day!
Thanks a lot, Espen! Oh absolutely! I highly recommend it. Send me a message whenever and I can share the details.
Great video man, and sweet shots! Im amazed how low your shutter speed was and how crisp the photos were.
Thanks so much dude! I have been quite surprised myself how the slower shutter speeds have been fairing in the jungle!
Stefano Ianiro Wildlife definitely a great setup, and I’m struggling to get sharp shots with the 90d at 1/2500s.. that’s pretty bad.
@@CJamesPhoto No way, really? That's surprising. Which lens are you using? It really confuses me why they didn't release a 7Diii instead.
Stefano Ianiro Wildlife Yep, been doing a lot of testing and I barely get usable images, unless I’m super close, you can see in my swans video... I’m using the canon 500mm f4, so should definitely be getting better results, Yeah they should have done that and even gone mirrorless.
@@CJamesPhoto I'll definitely check the vid out tonight. I'm hoping Canon starts pushing the boundaries when it comes to their mirrorless systems. A 7Diii as a mirrorless camera would be pretty neat. I would love to try that! My first real wildlife camera was the original 7D and I loved that camera. Fingers crossed!
I have been watching your channel and love your videos. Your bird photography is an inspiration to landscape and nature photographers like me. I recetly purchased the A7r4 its an incredible camera with huge dynamic range and lots of megapixels (upgraded from Canon 5DIII), I am planning to get the FE 200-600 lens that you use, recently I have read few complaints of this combination of this particular lens with the R4, especially fast action or BIF and issue of locking focus. Did you ever face such issue, I really am blown away by the images and details they resolve through your images on your youtube videos. Any comment in this regard will be highly appreciate. Keep up the great work. Thanks.
Thank you so much, really glad you're enjoying the videos! In regards to any issues with BIF/locking focus, I really haven't had any. I think that's one of the things this combo does best. Especially if you're not getting a tracking beast like a9/a9II, it's a great "compromise". However, the main issue I've heard people run into is that this combo can produce soft images. It's not everybody, in my case I get great results with this combo. But I think the 200-600 has had some bad Quality Control. I've heard quite a few people who have had to swap their lens for another copy 1 or 2 times. So if you get yours, definitely test it to make sure everything is working smoothly and that you're getting sharp results. If you have any other questions when/if you get it, feel free to send me a message on Instagram.
@@StefanoIaniro Thanks for your message. I will keep you updated. Have a good day/evening.
Great Video, some fantastic birds. I agree with your comments regarding composition, I really don't like those clean pics with nothing in the background, they (IMO) don't appear natural to me and look staged. I always try and get a clean shot of the birds full body with eye contact and preferably at my eye level, if there are branches, leaves or whatever in the background I don't care, it's nature photography and birds live in trees, besides if your aperture is large enough any background will be blurry and can be made more so in post. Have a great time Stefano.
Very well said!! I've been having fun finding ways to incorporate some foliage/branches into my photos. Thanks for your comments and for watching 😁
I just visited your channel for the first time today and became spellbound with the images. I myself shoot birds. Subscribing.
Wow, thank you so much 🙂
Can't wait for my copy of the 200-600mm G OSS!
I'm excited for you to get it! I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with it!
@@StefanoIaniro Thanks! :3
bro that picture of the bananaquit is really epic I really love that one the others are great if I did not see the video I would have thought you photo shop it in to the photo cause have been trying to get one for my assignment. 👍❤
Thank you so much 😃
Great birds... Thinking of getting the 200-600 for my a7iii... Be nice if you could get some pics with that combination.... cheers
You'll be very happy with that combination! I'll get a few comparison images between the a7iii and a7r4 with that lens for one of my upcoming videos 🙂
thks
Nice photos! Have you had any problems at all with soft photos with this camera/lens combo? I want to purchase but have seen vids with reports that some are having problems with soft photos. Thanks for any replies.
Me encanta 👏🏻👏🏻 que settings usas ? Saludos de chile 🇨🇱
Very cool, I love how much you love it. Have you ever thought about coming to Colombia? The wildlife here is amazing! I have a collection of flower, bird, and butterfly photos. I live in Santa Marta, there is a bird sanctuary, a national park, and a flamingo sanctuary here. Probably a lot of the same birds, as Ecuador, but Let me know if you ever want to come down, and I can help you out with your trip.....(there are monkeys too)
Wow! You look like a kid opening xmas presents, don't get me wrong, i'll be the same, also, i got the same emotion when i'm on a field trip and discover a new bird.
Hahaha it definitely feels like Christmas! So many incredible species, it's hard not to be happy 😁
Great job!! But whoa, the Moiré effect... @_@
Thank you! And yup, it's horrible haha... still trying to get it sorted out with Sony. May have to send in my camera!
@@StefanoIaniro Oh no! wouldn't any firmware update help?! That would really suck if you need to send it back :(
@@sytwang I've spoken to a lot of people who use the camera and no one else has this issue. So I'm pretty sure I may just have a video issue with my camera. I don't think this is a problem with all A7RIVs
@@StefanoIaniro i'm sorry to hear that :( Best of luck with that :) Keep up the great photography and youtube!!!
Wow .. that's so amazing ... all your snaps are super sharp .. Stunning photos and videos .. Humming bird on rain is my favourite moment . .. which camera/lens you are shooting those videos ? is it 200-600 ?? I am from Kenya, own a A7iii , still not switched my wildlife lens from nikon to sony . considering 200-600 lens. How big the lens is ? how big your backpack is ? Currently using sigma 150-600 , is it big compare to sigma size ??
Thank you! The video was a mix of the A7RIV and the a7III, with the 200-600 lens. Size wise it's similar to the 150-600, however it doesn't extend, so fully extended the 150-600 is longer. I also find since the 200-600 is internal zoom, it's much more balanced when handholding. The Sigma 150-600 Contemporary is very front-heavy and even though it's lighter, I find it less comfortable to hold than the 200-600. My backpack is the Lowepro 450 AW II. I have the bag split in 3 sections vertically. I can fit this lens attached to a camera in the middle section of the bag and still have room on the top of it. Hope that helps!
Stefano ... thank your kindness to reply for my personal question.. happy to hear it’s much comfortable to handle than sigma . My backpack is lowepro 400 . Will have a comparison with 450 and find if it can fit on my bag . How comfortable it is to take handheld video for 10-15 seconds?
@@pvattoly I don't think I've tried taking video handheld with it. If you did use it handheld for video, you'd definitely need to have it in 120 fps to slow it down so the shaking is less noticeable.
Stefano Ianiro Wildlife thank you so much 😊
Thanks, Stefano. My Sony EF 200-600 and A7R4 arrives in a few dyas
That's awesome! Good luck! Hope you get some good test subjects to start the new year 🙂
