So a guy who's done well for himself, owns his own business or has a high up job. And wants a watch. Such insight.
"This is a guy who's got $30k to drop on a watch, possibly due to poor financial judgment."
In summary…..using his own words..”This is watch for someone who has done really well for himself…..”😂
hahahahaha
I have three, and you nailed it. You certainly know your watches and customers.
Haha thank you mate! Appreciate it 🙏
Ahh, you poor sod, get well soon!
Strange! Charlie would not buy the black Explorer II from me! "I'll buy anything if the price is right." He just was not interested. I like to read comments from folk who have tried to sell watches to dealers.
Perhaps the price wasn't right?
His employee relayed the message from Charlie, not interested. We did not reach the price discussion. These videos are designed to sotfen the audience in to a buying mindset.
Bang on the money 💵
Same experience for me with two watches I offered - so he is not honest on that point to be sure
I think the key is, if the price is right, and you’ve also got to look at the inventory that he has and what he can buy and sell for, unless you’re willing to take 20% on the dollar
Hi Charlie! Big fan of your channel (along with my wife)! Recently picked up a Datejust 41 Smooth bezel + oyster bracelet combo, in the mint green dial. Your analysis (and classification of the buyer) is pretty accurate haha, me and the wife were having a good giggle. Currently, my 50/50 daily watch alongside my moonwatch. Keep up the good work and much love from Singapore!
Haha glad to hear I got it spot on! Congratulations on your new watch, wear it, enjoy it, its a great one to have. Thank you for watching!
Good pick , in my humble opinion you should go to the white gold bling bling bezel ,personal taste it’s diferent , but they look much atractive and if you want to sell it , they go quicker
Awesome vid mate, probably your best yet. Some serious effort gone into this, loved it!
Thank you so much Greg, glad you liked this one! 🙏
One of your best videos Charlie. Liked how you described watch with individual 👍I’m a S&G buyer generally. Not too flashy but love the combination especially on Jubilee bracelet. In last month+ bought M126231-0023 and M126713grnr-0001. Big fan of Oyster-flex Daytonas also and Skydwellers
Thanks Mike! Hope you’re well mate 🙏 Yes it is the perfect in between 👌🏻 some excellent pick ups there, congratulations 👏🏻
I have a MK1 Pepsi and a black ceramic Daytona. Quite happy with my 2 Rolex collection. Worked very hard for it. Love your videos mate. 👍
Congratulations Craig, both stunning watches 👌🏻 Thank you for watching!
Nice job. Wear it in good health!
You're lucky! I can't afford a Rolex yet. I finally paid off my home a few months ago and now have less than $70K in the bank. The Sky Dweller I want is close to $45K. I'll never be able to afford one.
My new favourite watch channel.. can not beat the honesty.. this channel is going to blow up
Thank you mate appreciate that 🙏
@@thehonestwatchdealerI've been thinking of pulling the trigger on a panda daytona at 25k. You think it's a good buy or is there still more room to drop. I've heard you guys are buying them at 20k now ?
You’re spot on abt why I chose the 226570 polar. I wanted a daily wear for the office and something different from the sub.
Excellent choice mate, a great daily wearer 👌🏻
Wife bought her 1st Rolex from AD. 31mm two tone yellow gold on jubilee with diamond bezel. Watch looks discrete indoors under low light, but in the sun or bright lights it’s very noticeable. Great channel BTW!!!
Very nice watch! Bet she is very pleased with that one 👌 Thank you mate, glad you like the channel! 🙏
Absolutely love your channel 🙏 i only like 1 rolex - the black dial explorer 2. My wife has 3 watches - 2 date justs and 1 oyster
Thank you mate really appreciate it! All great models, have a great collection between you 🙏
Great video, Charlie! As an entry level watch guy, this was a good end to end breakdown of Rolexes
Thank you Michael, glad you learned something from the video! Best of luck on your Rolex journey 🙏
One of the best watch professionals period! love your videos!
Thank you so much Charles, really means a lot! 🙏
One day I'll be sitting in that chair across from you! Really appreciate all the inside info and knowledge you share. Cheers, Charlie!
Thank you Eric, so glad you learn from them. Can’t wait, we will have you in the Boutique one day! 🙏
Thank you mate, I really appreciate your professional and informative videos. Well done Charlie!
Thank you mate really appreciate that! So glad you like them 🙏
Hi Charlie, AG from Sydney Australia. This is the best summation of the Rolex customer landscape i have ever seen. Best video well done
Thank you mate, really appreciate it! Thank you for watching all the way in Sydney! 🙏
This is the best video I have seen on the range of Rolex watches, this is a classic video . Thanks for such great narration. I found it to be very informative and interesting
Thank you for that, really means a lot and so glad you liked it! 👌🏻🙏
Great video, Well done on your business and channel. "He does not want the waiter commenting on his watch" is my fave comment of 2023!
Haha glad you liked that one! Thank you for watching, really appreciate it 🙌
Love your channel mate. Great video! Thank you for creating wonderful content.
Thank you mate I really appreciate that! So glad you like the content! 🙏
Great information. I think you’re spot on in your client assessment.
Thank you Robert, really appreciate it, thank you for watching 👍
Great video updates, quick one for you when you mentioned about people who store watches. Would you recommend using watch winders if a watch is kept for long term consideration?
Thank you mate, I really appreciate it! Yes so definitely use them, but don't keep the watch on them constantly as it will count as wear on the movement. 👍
Ok first things first. I really enjoyed your video. While it is the first that I have viewed of your's, it will not be the last. I loved your content and style. You are easy to listen to and down to earth. I am always watching .. "Watch" videos and you have a new subscriber. Super job.
Thank you mate really appreciate that! Welcome to the channel and so glad you like the content! 👍
Cracking good video Charlie! I think that's pretty spot on
Thank you mate! Appreciate that glad you liked it 🙏
Have the 116520 as the daily and recently got a MK2 Pepsi jubilee and I love it!! I really enjoyed your video.
Thank you mate, really appreciate it so glad you liked the video - you have an excellent watch collection, both great choices 👌

Loved it! My 1st Rolex was an explorer 2 42mm and now I just got a Batman! 💙
Congratulations! Both stunning models 👌🏻
I daily my panda! Even go hiking with it!
Very nice! Stunning watch mate 👏🏻👌🏻
Another great Video Charlie, It was a pleasure doing business with you recently regarding the Sub Date, Top bloke to deal with some good advice
Thank you for watching Darren! Hope to hear from you again soon 👍
Outstanding well done Charlie great video as usual mate speak soon 👍🏻💥💥
Thank you Paul! Hope you are well mate, speak to you soon! 👌🏻🙌
Submariner here. Definitly a achievement watch. Reach some goals, it unlocks somehow. Love it and the stuff I did to get it. Also a good story telling opener.
Congratulations on owning one mate! And thank you for watching 🙌🙏
There's no achievement connected to watches. Especially not a cheap watch like a rolex submariner.
@@frankdux5693In your opinion. But the majority of people will disagree.
@@KM_1983 so what's the achievement? It's a £7,700 watch. You've got teenagers working in McDonald's and driving around in cars more than twice that price. So what's so impressive about owning a Rolex submariner?
@@frankdux5693I got one and I get compliments all the time or notice people staring at it. Also here in Canada it’s going for 12-13 grand it’s not an impossible feat but most people are not going to spend money like that on just a watch so calm down
great video - my daily is a GMT II and a panda for the weekend
Thanks Alix, glad you liked it! Great options, both stunning models! 👌
Love the content thanks for putting a nice video out on rolex, allot of videos in the last year just bash rolex and its very tedious and over-done. They make stunning great watches!
Thanks a lot Lee, Really appreciate it - thank you for watching! 🙏
@thehonestwatchdealer Your welcome! I appreciate allot of brands it's just nice to see content not talking completely negative about rolex. People forget rewind 4 years ago you could walk into a AD and buy a rolex with the snap of my fingers, infact I have luckly twice. The demand has simply run so high it can't be met to keep all parties happy! FYI my favourite watch missed out here was stainless steel and platinum rhodium dial yatchmaster.. Beautiful and deffiently stealthy
Great video, one of your best 👏. Very accurate too haha.
Thank you Tony, glad you liked this one! 👍
Really interesting. This watches channel keep on going better days after days.
Thank you so much mate, really appreciate that! 🙏
Great video, really enjoyed and loved the insights.
Thank you, really appreciate it - so glad you liked the video! 🙏
Spot on I got my 43mm seadweller because I loved the sub but wanted something more special,to daily.
Excellent mate! 👏🏻 Such a great choice!
Really interesting take on the types of Rolex buyers. I noticed that you didn't mention the Yacht-Master Blue & Rhodium (40 & 37mm) dial versions. I personally consider them amongst the most stunning and under-rated models in the Rolex catalogue.
Thank you mate so glad you liked the video. You are right, they are definitely stunning models, and ridiculously underrated!
Or the Plat DD?
Have a YM2 s.s. with a nice white dial. Love the countdown scale she has. Makes a great egg timer with flyback when I don't use the scale for regatta races.
loved watching this video !!
Thank you mate glad you liked this one 🙌
Excellent video. There's just one thing I'd like to metion. Rolex being elusive to a big chunk of watch lovers has kinda changed what people would likely pick. Its like if rhe AD calls and says I have a sub (date) and I wanted a no date version, chances are ill just take it because I'm not sure if ill get the one I want anytime in the near future. So my first Rolex was the SD 43, followed by the explorer 2 polar and I'm getting a GMT master II sprite tomorrow. I wanted a Batman but I picked the Sprite on the jubilee instead. But the video is spot on otherwise if people had to pick without being made to wait an eternity. Hoping I don't regret my decision of buying the sprite instead of the Batman. Thanks for the video!
Thank you mate I really appreciate that! Glad you liked the video 🙏 Sounds like you have a great collection already - the Sprite is definitely a good one to go for! 👌🏻
Nice video it took me 3 and a half months of pay for me to buy my beautiful 1.2 diamond carat Rolex Datejust 16014 I had it for 4 years so far.
Congratulations mate, such a stunning model to own, enjoy it!
Nice video! The Submariner is just the best. i love my 124060
Such a great watch, congratulations on owning one! 👌🏻
Loved the video, Charlie. You have great inventory. Best wishes from California.
Thank you mate really appreciate it 🙏
Hey Charlie, I'm just wondering what would be a good watch going into college. Could you help me with narrowing down the options? I am thinking of either the explorer 2, black sub, or a dayjust smooth bezel with an oyster bracelet.
All three of them excellent choices great for all occasions, Submariner probably the best of the 3 👌🏻
Gotta say, I waited until you got to the submariner lineup and I loved your review and you were spot on, you were absolutely spot on with respect to the black stallion no date and so glad it is one of your personal favourites because it is the one in my collection and it is such a phenomenal piece, I don’t know why I wasn’t subscribed earlier, but you are a gentleman to listen to and I do appreciate your insight
Thank you mate I really appreciate that! Welcome to the channel 🙏 Yes the No Date is such an incredible piece, so clean and classy, I love it 👌🏻
This is an awesome video. I’m a business person and getting your take on this is highly valuable!
Thank you Michael really appreciate it, glad you like the video!
@@thehonestwatchdealer thanks I would love to get into watch buying and selling but it isn’t something I know very well.
Which Rolex would a gray-market grifter wear to confuse unsuspecting investors and clients into conducting business with them?
Oyster Flex Daytona, Omega Proplof… seem to be the models in question.
@@BufanMuayThai Hmmm, a Ploprof you say... I wonder who that might be. 🤔
Ahh at 2:37 you described my mum perfectly🤣
haha good to know! 😆
You are spot on on the exp2. I own 2, black 216570 and white 226570. I like my Rolex to be apart, daily and discrete.
Congratulations mate, stunning models, enjoy them!
Another great vid Carlsberg, pure class.
Haha thanks mate! Glad you liked this one 👌
Great video! Could you touch on the Milgauss? Would love to have that as a first watch
Thankyou mate! Appreciate it - I’ll try and include that on the next one 🙌
Spot on insights 👌

Great interesting video. Was waiting for the Yachtmaster 2 review
Thank you mate I appreciate that, I’ll see what I can do for next time 🙌
Great to see the watch you bought off Charlie in the video👍
Thanks for watching mate, hope you are enjoying your watch! 🙏
Very well done video. Enjoyed
Thank you mate glad you liked it 🙏
Thanks so much for your insight. I'm looking to buy my first Rolex as a daily wear and I'm deciding between a smooth Datejust with jubilee or oyster bracelet. Your assumption is a perfect match! Question though - does the Jubilee offer a wider range of bracelet fitment sizes due to the smaller link length? The only bad thing about my old Seamaster is the lack of micro adjust which is hell when my wrist swells, so I want my next watch to be comfortable.
Good choice! Yes I would say go for the jubilee, smaller resizing increments and some would say more comfortable! 🙌
Nice video Charlie. What would you recommend for a young professional? I like full yellow gold watches that I can wear both formally and casually. Thanks!
Thanks for watching mate! Marine a Sub or Day-Date? You might be able to get them cheaper on the grey market than RRP of you shop around 👌🏻
Love this channel!
Thank you mate I appreciate that!
Maybe an idea for a future video, but it would be cool to do a video where you try on different models and dials to see how they look on camera. The Pikachu always looks great, but other model and dial variations would be cool to see as well
Hi Aaron, a great idea, I’ll see what I can do 👌🏻
Excellent video topic
Thank you Randy, appreciate that - thanks for watching! 🙌
Another great video!!
Thanks Richard, glad you liked this one 🙏
I’ve got a no date sub and am looking for a second watch. Does the 39MM white dial OP fit for a dressy/weekend watch? The white Daytona is a grail but I can’t pull the trigger on that one just yet.
Personally I’d consider the white dial sportier, but presumably dressier than a Sub. It really depends on how dressy you want it to be. In the end it’s still a steel oyster bracelet watch and will be less dressy than a million other options on a leather strap. Still a nice watch though!
Yes I would say the OP range is more dressier than a Submariner, but the great thing about both these watches is they do great for all occasions!
Damn best video for me so far. Congrats man!
Thank you mate really appreciate it, so glad you like this one 👌🏻
Super cool video!!
Thank you Omar, glad you liked this one 👌
I have to say, you are spot on! I have an 07' Sea Dweller which is my everyday, for the exact reasons that you mentioned about the Submariner. I dived offshore for 22 years and the watch was my treat to my self, and now I'm looking at a GMT Pepsi jubilee for its collectability. lol... that's too funny. Good Job.
Haha so glad you liked it mate! Really appreciate you watching. Congratulations on getting the Sea-Dweller and using it for diving! Best of luck with the Pepsi, really stunning watch 👌
You've done a fantastic job with the Chanel. Very informative and helpful. I'll be sure to look you up the next time I'm in the UK.

Great video really enjoyed your analysis
Thank you mate appreciate that 👌🏻
Another Great Video!
Thanks again for watching mate! 🙏
Had a steel & gold Daytona, but sold it to fund a Royal Oak purchase. I liked how it wore - never had a more comfortable, solid feeling watch - but just never bonded with it.
Such a great wear isn’t it, sometimes you just don’t connect with a watch, it happens!
Thank you Charlie for this! Would love you opinion on the “palm motif” for the Datejust. For myself, 33 year old guy, self employed farmer. First Rolex. Thank you!
Yes it is a stunning model, quite a small market as it is such a rare dial - should be a good one for the future 👍
Great video! Great demographic breakdown. You forgot the James Cameron DSD.
Thanks for watch, so pleased you liked it! I’ll try get it in the next one! 👌🏻

Correct about the fluted jubilee. I got a submariner and am on the list for one of these as a secondary watch. :)
Excellent choice, hope you get the call soon mate! 🙏
Nice Job Charlie!
Thank you Eric! Glad you liked it 🙌
I love my blue dial Yachtmaster. Not seen nearly as often in the ‘wild’ and such a beautiful piece!
Very true! Don’t see many at all, very nice watch 👌🏻
Charlie, you've really helped me tighten up my game on Rolex purchases! Switching gears, any insights on Vacheron Constantin Overseas? Would the stainless steel model with the blue dial be a decent long-term buy??
Thanks David really appreciate it! That is a stunning model, and one of the Holy Trinities, should be a great long term hold 👌🏻
Do you like the white dial at all?
Thank god for close caption, LOl!
😆👍
Bought my first Rolex this past June… 2005 Bluesy and a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Lady Date with Diamond bezel for my wife …then went on to buy the 2023 Datejust with Mint green dial fluted bezel and oyster bracelet in July. August was a 2017 Datejust in white gold with a Rhodium dial and Jubilee bracelet. September was a 2023 Yachtmaster, October was a 2010 Polar White Explorer II (which was the one I went to buy to begin with back in June), and November was a 2008 Milgauss with a white dial …. The one that started it all for me, as far as buying a Rolex was concerned, but I never pulled the trigger on buying …. Went a little bit ham this year 😳
Haha sounds like you have built up quite the collection in a short amount of time! Congratulations mate, all stunning models 👌🏻
Charlie, great video! I have the wrist for a deep sea and pursuing one. Can you share the key differences between to 126660 and the new 136660 both in black
Thanks mate I appreciate it! Great choice to go for, I’ll see if I can do a comparison video sometime soon 👍
AR coating on the 136660 underside, no divers extension, chamfered crystal, bezel a tad thinner, that’s it . Got one 😊
What about the 116520? It breaks my heart how the ceramic Daytona has completely taken over and now the steel bezel is looked down upon, despite the fact that for decades it was the absolute darling of the collection, with buyers willing to wait years and years for an opportunity to buy one. Any thoughts on this?
Still very popular among the collectors! Though less durable than the ceramic for daily wear 👍
Have it and I love it.
Fantastic video presentation
Thank you Anthony, glad you enjoyed the content - thanks for watching 👍
I ❤ my JC blue deepsea 126660. Like the size 44 & the weight of it which some folks dislike 😊
Congratulations on owning one mate, really nice watch - enjoy it! 👌
Any tips for going to an AD and #1 choice is a blue skydweller? Determined that’s my #1 that I really want but know it’s very sought after as well and don’t want to get laughed out of the AD. thanks
Yes so with this being such a highly sought after model, it would be unlikely you will be able to get this model as your first watch. You may have to build a relationship and buy a few other less desirable pieces to get offered this one down the line. I hope this helps! 🙌
@@thehonestwatchdealeryea i mean i get it. It’s just a huge turn off honestly when I know people are just looking to get it to flip it and make money.I got 16k saved, have 0 interest in flipping it and want to keep it for life so it just sucks to “lose” out to people who potentially are just buying it to flip it. Im a Penn State alumni and yankee fan so a blue sky is my perfect watch. What’s your best estimated wait time on a blue dj 41, fluted jubilee? That imo is the closest to a blue sky dweller so i would potentially go for that too.
@@richardgalyajr.7838 yes it is unfortunate however I’m afraid that’s the way the ADs do things. The DJ would be easier to get than the Sky, however still quite difficult. Wait times would all depend on your AD so you would have to have a chat with them!
Thanks!
Thank you mate really appreciate the tip! So glad you liked the video 🙏
Great video, Charlie. I've got a sub but man do I want GMT II Pepsi in white gold.
Such a great watch to aim for! Hope you manage to get one soon 🙏
Admiring watches I cannot afford. 😂
🤣 one day you will get one! 🙏
Great video! What about someone that adds a diamond bezel instead of the fluted bezel on the datejust or day date? Is that very rare for a guy to do and more popular for women’s watches?
It’s a tough one, increases the RRP and reduces the market drastically for the watch Can be tough to move on 👍
Proud to have a Blusey as my first watch from my AD as a 30th present to myself; stunning. I really want a Wimbledon and an OP 41 celebration to complete my perfect trio. Then if I’m greedy I’d like a motif datejust, a Sub no date, and one day a Daytona Panda or white gold.
Such a Stunning one to get as your first watch, congratulations! Really great list of watches to aim for too, you have great taste 👌
Well! You're right! First watch black Sub, second watch steel/gold Sea Dweller - because I wanted a bigger, bolder Sub 😅
Ah that’s incredible! Great ones to get as your first 2 👌🏻

Such a stunning model mate so great you have kept it all this time - Haha very hard to say! 🙌

I was waiting on you to say - the type of client who buys this model tends to be a total 🔔 end.
Haha never! 🤣
”Doing well in life” seems to be a reacuring theme… in my country mainly drugdealers wear these pieces.
You mean that in your country, high end horology enthusiasts are "client focused personnel working primarily in the sales and recreation sector" 😂
What reference is that Paul Newman 22:33 ?
I can see that if you buy a Rolex, then everyone will assume that you're doing very well in life. Thanks for this in depth explanation.
That's is for me the biggest downside with Rolex and why I don't have one. Rolex make nice watches, but the brand and logo is so well known. Non watch people think straight away that you're doing very well in life (or that you are wearing a fake). Non watch people don't know about Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Vacheron Constantin, A.Lange & Söhne and don't even recognize an Omega Speedmaster...they just think it's an old analogue watch and nothing special ;)
excellent video!! What are your thoughts on the ROLEX GMT Master-II 16713 Brown (mustard)?
Thank you mate I appreciate that - very nice watch and rather rare these days! 👌
@@thehonestwatchdealer sorry to ask a followup, but I am considering purchasing the mustard or a bluesey, they are similar in price locally, and I will def be wearing it. Which do you think holds the better long term investment potential? Thank you again for all your videos, I have learned so much from them.
So the GMT would be more of a collectors piece, and a new Bluesy would be one for wearing. If it is to wear, which ever you will enjoy the most will be the best to go for 👌@@jonathandavidmonroepelosi2716
