  • Honestly speaking as a dancer... Lisa makes it look easy. I know alot of people are covering this dance, but it never looks as light and easy compared to how Lisa dances it. Me myself thought this was easy but it's hard trying to make the choreography look as chill as hers. That's why i appreciate her so much.

  • sometimes fans don't respect Lisa's skills because she's Lisa (like ppl has a mindset that’s she has to be beyond PERFECT in everything to match her popularity). This usually happens to many artists with huge popularity too.. they forget all the artist efforts and just focus on judging their performance. This fits perfectly with the lyrics of BP's song "Everyone sees what they want to see, it's easier to judge than try to believe". Honestly being a fan of Lisa since her trainee era, she was never slick once single times. She always pushes her limits even when she’s not at her best condition (sick, tired, etc).

  • Jeff Avenue said that the hardest level a dancer could ever learn is to make a choreography look easy. And Lisa has achieved that. That's what makes THE BEST dancer in Kpop. Her lilifilm 3 was one of the hardest and notable dances she has ever done. I have seen SO MANY dancers and professional dancers cover it, but not a single one could objectively and technically come close to her level. Even Cheshir ha, the choreographer of the dance, could not execute it so fluidly and lightly like how Lisa did (because she's more on the hard choreo- but she's still a very good dancer ngl). Whatever you give Lisa, whether boyish, sexy, or cute dance, she knows exactly how to slay it without overdoing or being lacking. She's the only one in Kpop who can blend in with the boys, blend in with the girls, and blend in with professional choreographers. Tamzin Choi, who choreographed Lisa's dance cover of compass, admitted that he felt like Lisa was teaching him the choreo, instead of him teaching Lisa the dance. A number of professional dancers have named Lisa as the best dancer in Kpop. If there is any true ace in Kpop, it is definitely Lisa. She has been an ace trainee for consecutive 5 years in YG. Straight A's in rapping, singing, and dancing every month. IN YG. And YG is in fact, the hardest company to ever pass in. She never runs out of charisma. NEVER. her energy level is ALWAYS consistent every single time. her facial expressions skills ARE SO SATISFYING, She knows how to own the stage and work with the camera while dancing so perfectly. If there's anything, people who hate on Lisa are clearly missing out a once-in-a-generation gem.

  • Preach! Love your analysis. People tend to forget or ignore that Lisa has to sing/rap and dance at the same time while performing with full expression and emotion. If they are comparing the difficulty of Money dance to other difficult kpop dance from other groups or soloists, i think they have to admit that none of the latter are successfully done while singing *live*.

    @ana2ne1@ana2ne12 жыл бұрын
    • yeah, I like your comment. I have always thought about the fact that when you listen to a group, like a KPop group, it's a lot easier to only have to sing a part of the song and dance to it, as opposed to being a solo artist that dances and sings the entire song by themselves. For example, my favorite kpop group is Twice. And it's not lost on me that with 9 members of that group, that means they can divide each song into 9 parts and each member can get away with just singing 1/9th of each song and that is a huge bonus, cuz that saves their stamina for dancing.

      @justinchan6043@justinchan60432 жыл бұрын
    • Also, it's funny cuz I used to sing karaoke and one of my favorite songs to sing was a song by Eminem. And the rap is so long and so constant (almost no breaks in the song to take a breath), I was wondering, "How does Eminem rap this entire song in a live performance???" Then I got to see Eminem perform and what did he do? He had a back-up rapper singing half the song. They literally divvied up the song in half and they alternated verses.

      @justinchan6043@justinchan60432 жыл бұрын
  • You brought up a very important part THE DANCE PERFORMANCE video cut out a lot of the choreo and took away a lot of elements. Probably the biggest reason why people thought this was easy. Another thing Lisa never stops dancing. Compared with other kpop females, who is doing this? She keeps up with the boys.

  • Thank God someone said it. I keep reading comments about why is the dance so lame and not hard or not difficult as Lisa can do more of this. I’m a dancer myself and this choreography is hard as hell. While some dancers count on “1 and 2 and 3s” Lisa keeps on the beat. Every beat 😊 Let’s appreciate it everyone. Especially the dancers with Lisa, they made the dance really well. Although Lisa can outshine them but she choose to blend well with the dancers. 🧘🏽‍♀️

  • I am not a dancer but always understood how difficult her choreo always is. Of course the Lilly films had more strenous choreo, she wasn't singing, it was a focus on dance. It is beyond amazing the enduramce necessary to be a kpop artist, the breath control, practice, endurance, muscle memory, stage presence, confidence, ability to act and portray emotion in their voice and face and ability to remember choreo, music and any corrections to blocking due to stage measurements or change in numbers of dancers or bamd mates. My son does hip hop dancing and did a solo at 6 yrs old he freestyled to and he had to check out the stage and decide where to start and finish and where to look when performing. It is only because she is such an amazing performer that people think this choreo is easy when it is merely cleverly disguised to look easy.

Even the others said, Money is tougher, but not in her opinion. I enjoyed the part of "My money moves. Money I choose" pretty much. Lisa moved her hands to control the dancers around her as if they were her Money. Her attitude of powerful controller is at the peak. And that makes her the great performer, not just dancer.

  • Yes, as you mention at about 2:00, I think this dance practice video is so much better than the performance video. There's maybe like 10 times in the dance performance video where Lisa's basically only making a face to the camera. So I think that's a big part of some people's criticisms after watching that first video. Personally, after that first performance video, I was only disappointed at the very end, during the "don don don" part. I felt that was the song's little mini dance break so to me it should have gone a little harder than the rest of the choreo. But again, it does look much better here with less cuts and less zoom-ins on her face only. And you're totally right when you say the stamina is impressive because while I selfishly want their ending dance break to go extra hard, Lisa and the dancers should definitely be more tired at this point.

    • @@TheChillGuy000 There are cuts, very very cleverly hidden, but you see them If you focus on the backup dancers rather than on Lisa. Just to be clear, I'm not saying this to take anything away from Lisa and the other dancers - its a phenomenal performance, and I'm assuming they've done it all in one go for the live performance, where's she's also singing and rapping at the same time, so everything said in this video applies 100%.

    • the performance video wasn’t mean to just showcase the choreo… Why would u compare a performance video to a dance practice video when they have different purposes? I think the problem here is that people keep boxing Lisa into the “dancer” role. She isn’t JUST a dancer. Yes, she could’ve gone harder. She could’ve also easily just hired her LiLiFilM dance team and Chesir Ha to design choreo. But she didn’t, they didn’t. Lisa is the Creative Director of this solo project so she has the authority. I doubt YG would also be against the idea because they’re totally aware of how much Lilifilm generates. So ya’ll better chill out with your expectations with Lisa. Let her do what she wants.

I believe for the most part the people with negative comments about how the choreography isn’t hard, or has something to say about Lisa’s dancing, have no clue as to what they’re talking about and it shows. For the most part they are uneducated about dance or they are people that just love to hate Lisa because they are just toxic. I really appreciate when a dancer/choreographer gives their feedback because it takes someone who can understand how the moves are executed to grasp the true difficulty.

  • You made many clear points. Not aggressive at all. It's good to have these moves explained. They are quite obviously really hard to do. But of course it isn't even the difficulty, it's the appearance of the whole thing, the visual composition, like parts of a painting. What may seem like a little dab of colour may seem like nothing, or just an accident, but move it slightly to the left or leave it out, the whole thing changes - the mood, the atmosphere, the meaning. And you know better than I do, as you explained about the neck roll, there is more than one thing going on. If the hand is moving, the other hand has to be doing something, the foot, the chest, where is the other foot, so every part is involved, isn't it? No, this is top-level dancing. And of course, because it's for Lisa, all the dancers bring their A-game. She has advanced the perception of dance in K-pop a lot, giving it the serious attention it deserves. What I actually enjoy a lot with this performance, is the feeling Lisa carries that she's not just the star turn with some back-up dancers to make her look good, she is a dancer among other dancers, working as hard as them, as one of them, not just the boss. Even though, we have to admit, as she sings in Lalisa, she is clearly, "The loudest in the room!"

  • FINALLY! Somebody actually says it! Elliot says it all, like for real! As a performer myself, I find it hard to sing and dance at the same time. You have to consider your tone, Your musicality, Your emotions, The choreography, and most specially , Your impact to the audiences. Years and Years of experience is required for you to master all this, so how come this is EASY? Lisa is the MAIN DANCER and the LEAD RAPPER of the group and that is already a point to look at! She's Dancing, She's Rapping, and She's singing All the same time! so KUDOS TO YOU ELLIOT! Thank you for this VERY Detailed Explanation💛💯

WE ARE STRONG AND WE FIGHT TO SHOW THAT TALENT DOES NOT CHOOSE NATIONALITY.😍. LISA+MONEY SURPRISE EVERYONE AND BEAT A NEW RECORD OF VIEWS, EVEN HAVING THE PRODUCTION AND SUPPORT THAT IT DESERVED, SHE GAVE THE FANS A PREVIEW OF HER POWER THAT EXPLODED AND AIU IN THE GRACE OF THE WORLD. WE JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY YG HAS NO LONGER PROVIDED A MV WITH A PRODUCTION WORTH YOUR TALENT, SINCE YOU ARE A RARE DIAMOND. LISA YOU ARE MY IDOL AND FROM BRAZIL, CONTINUE YOUR EXCELLENT WORK WITH ALL YOUR HUMILITY THAT'S HOW YOUR FANS LOVE YOU. YOUR CHARISM IS NATURAL AND SPONTANEOUS. It takes skills like you say. I appreciate her hard work more than before now. You’re right singing, dancing, face expression all at the same time. That’s crazy hard yo!!! Her stage presence is amazing.

  • First of all thank you Elliot for these amazing analysis and great observasion as always too. But this time i gotta say few things that may triggering some kiddos Look, for those of people who selfishly think that the choreography for MONEY wasn't it, aside from the jealousy over Lisa at any aspect, aside from a brutal expectation over nothing, i think nowadays it's kinda obvious that the main problem was always about someone that randomly turning themselves into being a typical sudden-delusional-dance-expert, sheesh... I'd say most of them basically like a casual Kpop listenersin real life which probably can't really dance their ass off like what LISA did or like the other dancers in this MONEY dance practice video. To make it more hillarious, based of their rant whenever they trying to compare the standard in LILIFILM the series against the 2 final outcomes for both LALISA and MONEY i dare to say some of them probably didn't really have any basic experiences for creating nor fittin the song with a package of full-lenght raw choreography and the execution of the final staging itself. Another thing that made me cringe is those people maybe not even a fan of any Kpop artist while at the same time they still tend to pretend to be so suddenly care about a certain artist just because they wanna throw a shade for the selfishness of their own satisfaction, seriously what a fuckin trashers, like those people just have too much time for acting so superior above everything that doesn't suit their personal taste, smh for real. What's more funny to me is those people keep casually think that they knew what's better about choreography while they didn't even realize that they also oftenly have such a misunderstanding between the smoothness of a dance choreography as being an easy movement. I mean if someone really have a good and deep observation about their own fav artist, they should already knew that the smoothness and how to choose the whole detailed-movement was the result of the harmonization between well-thought process from the extreme tight schedule for every level in song's interpretation, dancing training, staging, camera-shooting, etc. Sure, some of yall may disagree with my POV but then again go ahead and feel free to prove me wrong if it's that's really not the case at any means...

    • I think that was a bit aggressive tbh. Lisa is my bias in blackpink but I did expect more, from the song and dance, not in a technical aspect as such tho. she is amazingly talented but jeez imagine what she could have achieved. Less cringey lyrics, the blaccent ugh no.

  • You are a great teacher, i don't think people look for how when or where, is more like beat, performance, and feelings for the performer, unless you are a critic, or reactor, or hater, see now they look for fails, or excellence, but haters well they will talk with their cold stone heart, only hate is in there heart.
