I finally identified the source of the buzzing i was hearing near my primitive beehive... the one that i offered - 2 year ago - to any swarm of honey bees that would consider it habitable... sadly, no one seemed to accept living there... except this year, this kind of bumble bee... seems to be of a species named Bombus hypnorum, tree bumblebee, that is said to like environments with trees growing not too densely, buid nest in trees or - near humans - in things builts by humans, and to prefer flowers of common hawthorn... all those aspects are coherent with this place ! :-)
Strangely, they didn't consider acceptable the entry holes that were already present in the beehive, and created other accesses, leaving the entry holes open,... is that a secure management of their hive / nest ? i should go see how the interior is organized.

  • Preciosas imágenes. ¿Viste como traen sus patas traseras llenas de polen? Mejor reten tu curiosidad hasta que hayan terminado su ciclo. Nos gustará ver imágenes de ello, en su momento. Beautiful images. Did you see how their hind legs are full of pollen? Better hold your curiosity until they have finished their cycle. We would like to see images of it, in due course.
