Baggio: The Divine Ponytail | Official Trailer | Netflix
/ netflix
The story of Roberto Baggio, one of the best soccer players of all time, including his career highs, triumphs over injuries and discovery of Buddhism.
In the early 1990s Baggio was the biggest name in Football. Memories!
His personal story had to be made into a film eventually. He suffered so many injuries and was wronged by so many people who put obstacles in his way ( including the Italian federation) but he always persevered. Fascinating and inspiring! I hope the movie will do him justice.
Lies again? Deeper inside learn english
How he practically played on one knee his entire career and still became an all time great is insane to me
Yeah the fact that we actually never saw a fully fit Baggio yet he is one of the best of all time makes you really think about how much greater he could have been would had it not been for that knee injury. If this guy was top 10 of all time with 1 knee, imagine how he would have been with 2.
Wow Netflix you win again.... Baggio what a legend remember him from my first world cup Italia ‘90 and the again at USA ‘94. Was not expecting this, but it is exactly what we needed.... 🇮🇹 ❤️
Yeah my first World Cup was Italia '90 but I mainly remember Baggio from the USA '94 World Cup, Italy had a great team and I loved Schillaci on the wing
Baggio is Italy. And Italy is Baggio.
I turned 15 years of age on the day of the 1994 World Cup final. The cake my parents had gotten me had Italia, Baggio, and the number 10 (along with Mario and the number 15) written on it. I was both crying (literally) and smiling simultaneously in the photos taken with my family on that 17th of July evening. While the moments were bittersweet, I didn't blame Baggio for the loss or void my family of a celebration; instead, I saluted his performance and enjoyed my time with those closest to me. Life is too short to not find joy in the little things and love in those most important to you.
i think you're great person and you have a beautiful story don't forget that , i mean cmon who doesn't want to live in that time and watch baggio with his family.
Sadly people always think Italian is defensive but forget how great they forward and midfielder who play beautiful football and pure artist like schillaci, cassano, mancini, totti, del piero, pirlo and the greatest baggio. Baggio is the only real life character who appears in captain tsubasa. I think italy football produce more artist than england, netherland and germany. Before baggio miss that penalty,3 Italian player miss that penalty shootout. Baggio only scapegoat
You missed out Schillaci, he was immense on the wing for Italy

For reminder, the Serie-A back then was totally brutal but in same time was worth to watch, it was like true Gladiator games but in football form, Baggio was awesome that he capable to play on his best form until he retired despite his knees has been screwup since 18.
Nothing makes me so nostalgic as seeing Roberto Baggio
I was 9 when I watched football first time in World Cup 1994. I loved Baggio, then I loved football, I loved Italy and became a big Juve fan. Thank you, Robby for those good feelings and even for the cries in 1994. The best player of all times!
Same story goes for me. I was also 9 y.o back in 1994. That was my first time seeing world cup on tv. And i was deeply attracted by roberto baggio, paolo maldini and franco baresi plays at that time. Since then i had become italy national team supporter (im not even italian) until now. The only plot twist is, when you became a big juve fan after 1994 world cup, i became a big milan fan lol
A player became a feeling. A true man. They did a good job with this movie.
I love Baggio! Him and George Weah were the reason I loved italian league when I was a kid ..
I know Roberto ,You are seeing this. I just want to tell you, My father loved you,so do I ❤️❤️
@beentheredonethat Feeling isn't bound to Words 😉
@@srujannagdeve8010You from Italy mate??
For me the only player at level of Maradona and the best N10 ever. He won a Golden Ball in the era where there was an absurd amount of talents around the world, in 1995, all did with only one knee (and in the 80's a broken ligament and meniscus he meant the end of a career) scoring 220 goals in Serie A when the Serie A was the best championship with the strongest worlds defenses. If anyone have some doubt about Baggio, ask to Pep Guardiola who Baggio was, Pep played with him at Brescia, when Baggio had 38 y/o.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Pep to Andres Iniesta : Andres, this guy (Roby) was better than you.
I saw the movie today I did see baggio on the field and my father always used to say you have missed a great player and his pony tail hair style and after seeing this movie today I got to know this great footballer and my father today really cried after seeing this movie love from India to ROBY ❤️
I cannot wait to watch this. He made me fall in love with football as an Italian/Canadian growing up in Edmonton and Hollywood at the same time. I know I will cry when I watch this.
I did as well :)
I was there Giants Stadium New Jersey..1994. Thank you Robbie Italia Norway and Bulgaria
O my God I've just watched this movie on Netflix is absolutely AMAZING !!! Maybe even one of the best movies I've seen in my life. A guy who played Baggio was awesome should get something for this role Oscar or something.
Favourite player from my childhood. Roberto Baggio.
This was a great film. Thank you Netflix. I wish it was longer I know the story of baggio very well and has been thru much more. He is #1 I don’t care about Messi, maradona,Ronaldo nobody was Roberto Baggio!!!! I wish I met him what a great man! The best
Dear Baggio my child hood was filled with you ..With love from India ..
ONE OF THE BEST PLAYERS OF ALL TIME.._.LEGEND._.MY HERO.._..THANKS FOR EVERYTHING ROBERTO BAGGIO.
Not just amazing skills but also smart gameplay, in 98 France WC, Italy vs Chile, Italy was down 2-1 but Roby kick the ball intentionally towards the defender's hand so Italy got the pinalty and he scored 2-2. I always remember that moment, what a smart play by the Maestro 🔥
Yeah,I remember it was kinda little controversy thus create the ball to hand rule.
When I was younger and kicking the ball around with my friends in the yard we always gave ourselves favorite players names. I always picked Baggio!! Loved it. Memories 😊
Tears of joy after watching this movie. What a man, what a player, what a maestro he is. A legend!
I cried like a baby
For those who don’t him , Madona used to keep a photo of him under the pillow while sleeping ! This guy was a legend !
Really?
@@drdre8789 yeah
@@drdre8789 Really...and Guardiola, that played with him when Baggio at 38 y/o played at Brescia (without both the knees, badly injuried), once said to Messi, that was in the locker room to meet and know Baggio: "Leo, if you will be lucky, you will become the half of the player he was (pointing at Baggio). I had the fortune to play with him at Brescia, he was doing, with the ball and without it, insane things, without having both the knees and at his 38...can you believe it!?".

It was criminal to leave him out of the 2002 world Cup.
Roberto Baggio.......... love from India
Roberto Baggio the only reason I Love football
People always forget, he Played with 6 Major Injuries, he literaly played without knees... Stuff that to others only 1 of that kind, to finish their career... Unbeliveble...
Baggio's ponytail , Bebeto's baby cradling goal celebration and Henrik Larssen's dreads is what i remember from 94 world cup~~~
Yes. Unforgettable World Cup.
Yes and Tony Meolas greasy hair... And Bulgarian mafialike faces and Escobar and Valderamas hair and the sunny pitcheS
This is gonna be one of the best football movies.
Bravo Roberto Baggio!!!
1 more day guys. Biggest Baggio UK fan since 94. Luckily enough to see him play. Hope it’s good
I wanna watch it but at the same time I don't wanna watch it knowing how it'll end, love you ton Baggio.
Omg. Absolutely true. My heart still sinks up to today and I could barely watch penalties in any football ⚽️ match.
The ending is beautiful though, watch it
@@riccardomallardo7779 I did.. and even though I was expecting a more in depth movie....I did like it. And I like that they showed his human side...you know thw part we tend to forget because we see him as a superstar.
Looking forward to watch this mini-series. Sick and tired of mainstream media portraying Italy shows with side stories of mafia and/or camorra activities (yeah My Brilliant Friend, I am talking to you!). And I am not even Italian but I have been there and that nation is a hell of a lot more than organized crime and corrupt government officials. Football is a massive part of their culture! And during an entire era 80s-90s, Baggio signified Italy's footballing spirit! Long live the Divine Pony Tail!!!
Yes mate, i'm from Italy - of course we have crime here but is just one side of our nation . We got so many positive things on the other side.
They still hate us for being the greatest Empire of History... Also if we are talking about 2000 years ago...damn... That's why i had enough of USA British and Jewish Propaganda... Without Rome, They would probably still live in wooden huts, without law, streets, sewers or heating in the house... Ad Maiora. Roma Invicta.
Roberto Baggio is arguably the most talented Italian player of all time.. He is a European who plays like a South American.. He screwed up both of his ankles at age 18…yet managed to become the best player in the world…imagine what he could’ve done without his injuries..
I get that your a huge Roberto Baggio fan but the star-studded Brazil team at 1994, is likely to prove otherwise. The Brazil team had some of the best players in the world and that's why they beat Italy. Fun fact Baggio missed the penalty that leads to Italy's demise. This is why 1 player cannot carry an entire team, with the exception of Maradona.... And please don't bring up Pele, who had a star-studded team to back him up when he won the world cups. Baggio was the best Italian player to wear the jersey, the rest of the players in Italy were not on the same level, unfortunately.
@@illidanisdead6924 a penalty miss means the player is awful?? 😂😂 Maradona also missed a penalty in the 1990 WC, he scored 0 goals the whole tournament, it was thanks to his teammates that he reached the final of the 1990 WC.. No individual player can win anything in a Team Sport….Did Maradona defend for Argentina? Did he goal keep? Your logic is stupid..
@@illidanisdead6924 lol Brazil only had Romario that year. Bebeto was overrated and there were no really other superstars. Brazil 1998, 2002, and 2006 was way more loaded. They were lucky to get by Holland due to referee mistakes in 1994.
His world cup appearances drew in the American audience, imagine if he had two legs.
I'll remember received a mail letter from Roberto Baggio few years ago during his time in Inter Milan. You can see the story of the letter in video "LETTER FROM ROBERTO BAGGIO!"

Not even CLOSE. The two most well-known players in the US are David Beckham and Pele. Followed by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Christiano Ronaldo. The first three also played for US clubs, and most people know about Beckham being married to a Spice Girl and they're often in celebrity news. Most Americans have no clue who Baggio is.

The movie has missed out the most important part where in 98 world cup he buried his nightmare of missed penalty.
The legend baggio 🔥

"Pe me o schema è semplice..tutti passano a palla a Baggio e te fai gol"❤
Good trailer will watch
I heard stories about him from my uncle while watching world cup.
They changed history to Italy winning the 1994 World Cup final, so it has a happy ending.

Roberto Baggio is divine because he practised the highest teachings of the Buddha Shakyamuni contained in the book-Wonderful Law of Lotus Sutra and became a great human being. He is a member of Soka Gakkai International-Italy. Please Google your respective Soka Gakkai International branch in your country to learn about this greatest Buddhist practice as taught by 13th century Japanese great Buddhist sage Nichiren Daishonin. The key messages in the Lotus Sutra: You possessed the greatest human potential-Buddhahood inside your life. Chant “Nam Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo” to reveal your highest power and Buddha wisdom to change your destiny/karma, turning impossible to possible. Another famous example is Tina Turner who chanted 4 hr a day for 4 years of “Nam Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo” before she started to win Grammy awards rising from a countryside singer. Pls try it and you got nothing to lose.
