Bacon Wrapped Onion Rings Recipe | Smoked On A Pellet Grill
In today's video we are talking my favorite bacon wrapped onion rings recipe, and not only is it delicious but these bacon wrapped onion rings are smoked which brings the flavor to the next level! If you've never had bacon wrapped onion rings, they are super easy and super delicious, and they can even be prepped the night before! The final product with these bacon wrapped onion rings in an al dente onion, perfectly cooked bacon, and a flavor explosion that will keep you and your guests coming back for more! I highly recommend these smoked bacon wrapped onion rings for your next event!
The Prep:
-Cut your onions into circles and remove the skin
-After the skin is removed, separate the layers leaving two rings to form one onion ring. This is vital so you don't have a soggy onion.
-Brush your onion rings with BBQ sauce.
-Wrap the bacon around the onion rings per the instructions in the video.
-Transfer the bacon wrapped onion rings to a cooling rack and season with BBQ rub.
The Cook:
-Set your smoker to 275º and put the bacon wrapped onion rings on.
-Let the bacon wrapped onion rings smoke for 1 hour and check to see how the bacon is cooking. Mine took an hour and 15 minutes until the bacon was right. Once the bacon is cooked the onion rings are ready for sauce.
-Sauce the bacon wrapped onion rings and let the sauce set for 10 minutes.
-After the sauce has set, let cool for 15 minutes, eat, and enjoy!

Having to add another piece of bacon is not a waste but a bonus! No need to trim. Looks great! Thanks

Quick story. I love to cook outside. Two years ago my first try at a brisket ended up ruining an expensive piece of meat. I just purchased a Pit Boss PS850 and today thanks to your videos I turned out a really good brisket. my family was full and happy. Thanks for what you do.
Chuck, thank you so much for sharing! You have no idea how much that means to me and it makes all these videos worth my while. I’m so glad I was able to help ya out, congrats on your success! Have a Happy New Year!
Can you do a video on ho to carve a finished brisket. The direction of the grain seemed to change from the point to the flat. I noticed some of my slices were with the grain and not against. Thx
@@chuckstuckey9450 have you watched my other brisket videos? I kind of cover this. Otherwise sure I can add it to my list!

Hey CJ! Thanks so much brother! I will be back to dropping videos this month. I was under the weather for a bit and then needed a chance to recharge! I appreciate your support brother!
Did you get rid of your Weber? I am still enjoying mine. I need some help. When you set the temps for your videos, what is the temperature at the grate where the meat is? With pellet grills and digital probes and such, it is confusing when the overall grill controls read 275 yet grate temp can be measured at 240-250. Should I focus on the grate temp where the meat is? Or trust the controller temps? I know I am over thinking this! But thanks!
Hello, I did not get rid of the Weber. I have 24 cookers so try to rotate them lol. I just go off my controller temp. I don’t pay much attention to grate temps. Learning to cook by color and tenderness is far more valuable than dialing in grate temps to controller temps in my opinion. So yeah, I don’t really measure grate temps anymore.
I would love to make these but I don't have a smoker? Can they be done on a gas grill?
I'd probably use an oven
