@@Hankman23 Mazda at this stage don’t do a hybrid. I believe the CX5 will be a hybrid in 2025 and they’ll use the same electrification as Toyota whilst keeping their own platform. A very good combo that should be. 2025 new generation RAV4 hopefully will be a massive step up.

I drove one for 12 hrs without really experiencing any issues with the seats. I'm a big guy and I could never do this with my wife's CX5 or many other cars. Yes this interior is super basic, but what I noticed is that it the materials are durable. This car will last decades without trim peeling or falling apart, at least my intuition says so. It is also timeless in how basic it is.
Hmm. I have sat in several new RAV4s, and I am always shocked by how cheap the materials feel inside. All of the plastic parts seem thinner than average and wiggle around to the touch.
I love my 2023 Woodland. After 11,000mi I am getting 40.0mpg (5.9l/100km)! I did a spring swap to take it from 8.1in of ground clearance to 9.6" . I'm happy with the mild AT tires we get too. As someone who frequents trailheads and does some super mild off-roading it's nice to have a tire that can get me where I need to from the lot, but also offer a quiet ride and still crack 40mpg.

I was wondering if anyone would lift one of these--did you have to recalibrate the safety systems and did it affect efficiency very much? I was thinking of just getting one and bumping it a 1/2 inch, which would put it just under 9 inches. Plenty for the mountain/forest roads I would take it on.
Great review AXLR8! I was a bit shocked by the fuel efficiency of this woodland edition ... I can easily get 5.8 L/100KM in city from my normal non-woodland edition rav4 hybrid.
The gas mileage is almost exactly the same as a standard Rav4 hybrid, I have the 2023 Woodland and I avg 40mpg. The reason the gas mileage is slightly less is because of the cross bars actually create wind drag at higher speeds above 65mpg. Also note only 6500 will be made so something your not going to see too many of unlike the XLE Rav4 is everywhere.

You almost got the awd system right but not. It’s not connected to the transmission or engine in the hybrid. The rear has its own electric motor that activates when the controller senses slippage in front. This generation never had manual windows. You can get a wireless charger as part of a option

why would you willingly go with a shittier car?
I recently placed an order for a RAV4 Hybrid here in Australia. The dealer also sold KIAs and Hondas. The salesman said most of the cars with issues were non Toyotas. I did consider the Honda CRV but decided that I want to stick with the original hybrid maker as they have ironed out all the issues and are renowned for reliability and longevity.

The 1.25 recepticle at the rear of the vehicle IS NOT A TRAILER HITCH!!! There is a sticker on it "DO NOT TOW" it says. The recepticle is for things like bike racks. You want a trailer hitch? It is available from Toyota as is an upgraded wiring harness. What does that cost? Let's just say the dealer pricing includes 5.5 hours of labor to install and the parts cost about the same amount. Let's just say I know this because I bought it. Really, Really quite substantial.
I love the exterior of this new RAV4, however I still hate the interior design, just because of that I would prefer a Mazda CX-50 Hybrid over this RAV4. I wish Mazda brings a CX5 hybrid soon, it would be a best option over the RAV4 or CX50. 😎
Buy a CX50 now, when the hybrid comes, trade it in.
I would hold until 6th gen Rav4 if I'm not in the market for a new car.

Why does the tire trim not match the two tone roof?
Picked New CRV 2024 Hybrid EXL. The main point why I picked CRV that you do not have to wait Toyota for 1 year. And another thing, CRV much smoother and quite.

What I like is people say lots of negative stuff about RAV4 online, but real numbers in real world shows that it sells better than the competitors. So if you are reading this. Buy a RAV4 you will be happy if contentment, peace and saving is all you want.
And there is an explanation for this, given the economic situation, inflation, people want to buy a reliable car that will drive for 5-7 years. And only one brand can give them that: Toyota. But dealers want 5-7k higher than the mrsp price or you need to wait 1 year +. @@boxoffisa
Crv is more expensive and not as fuel efficient yet i agree 1 year is reticules i just ordered mine and waiting time went down to 6 months

the woodland edition doesn't really do the car justice lol. I have the XSE Tech pack and its actually amazing. It's not even a competition between the sportage and tuscon. idk about the mazda cx50 tho, haven't checked it out.
I'd really like the Woodland... the army green two tone, the integrated roof rack, etc... but it's really a bummer that some creature comforts aren't available unless you go outside of the Woodland.... upgraded 11 speaker/subwoofer stereo, 12" digital instrument cluster, 10" multimedia display. I'm leaning toward XSE with Tech package myself.
I love my gray/black XSE with all the options but gotta say this green w/ bronze wheels is awesome.

This thing needs a lot of improvements for whenever the next gen comes around. As a previous Toyota worker, we had a lot of feedback regarding the cheap interior and overall chintzy feel and unrefined rude quality. The only real positive was the fuel economy on the hybrid. The wait time is insulting. Would go with the CR-V, even though it's overpriced, or a Kia Sportage hybird or PHEV combo.

Yup, we will be getting one in the new year!
Make SURE you have enough headroom because if you have a tall torso YOU WILL bang your head every time you get in or out and that gets old really fast. Also, at highway speed be sure you can tolerate the LOUD road, wind and engine noise or a long trip will get pretty rough on your nerves. Also check to see how well your right leg can tolerate the far too wide center console and the uncomfortable angle you have to hold your leg in order to hold the accelerator pedal. The visibility is pretty poor and the head rest may push your head down if you like it or not. Check all these things or you may be sorry you paid $41K for a bad ride.

Please can you change the camera angle a bit more frequently? Sometimes the same camera is filming for as long as a whole two seconds, or sometimes even as long as three seconds. My attention span only lasts a maximum of two seconds.
I would buy one in a heartbeat if they got rid of the CVT and gave it a proper automatic transmission.

Venza is being discontinued but yes you're right about the Crown Signia, just wasn't out yet when we filmed!

I never drive one of Toyota hybrid, but every time I stuck behind one of those it get me late, they seem don’t want to move.
Why do they put the shift on the wrong side of the console? Honda puts the CRV shifter on the wrong side. Even GM puts the shifter on the wrong side in the Canyon. Why do they think this is a great idea?
We'll see how their CABLE GATE "fix" works out.
