"it felt like 10 years" You weren't even alive Levy
r/woooosh
maybe he would have been if those 5 years didnt take so long
Ah yes Gary Chess, inventor of chess. I can't wait until he releases Chess 2.
I just hope he fixes some of the bugs, I’m pretty sure the way the horsey moves is broken and there’s a glitch where the king can teleport
James Stopa-Hunt horsey move funny
It'll probably release before TES VI
@@bostoncrab4pple there’s also a glitch where if you move your pawn 2 places a lag spike happens and someone can use their pawn to take where your pawn was at the halfway point
@@MUIDYLANICE That was a balance patch programmed by the French to make the game go faster. They called it the “En Patchant”, “in patching”.
Wow this Kasparov guy seems good, he could give Garry Chess a run for his money
No way bruh. Garry chess invented the game.
This is such a overused joke

@@Kobrejz yeah that's what I was literally saying through this comment
Levy in guess the elo: youre attacking and trading your pieces? Whats wrong with you?! Levy when kasparov does this: yes its fine and logical
Trading when attacking is good but only in some positions, example like if enemy king have dark squares problem u want to trade knight or light squared bishop if its defending the king, but u want to keep queen and dark squared bishop

Nigel Short has given sooo much to chess. One of my favorites, he (along with Mikhail Botvinnik) were my original teachers to chess. When I wanted to become better and understand the game more
last time i was this early, kasparov was still world champion
Damn😂😂😂😂
Kasparov is such a *World champion* name
@@wizard_dynamo then there is Gary
Always loved Gary for his love of sacking pieces. Only now that I have learned more about chess can I even begin to understand what he means. The most powerful sack is the sacked piece that cannot be taken. Such beauty!
For me it is more his quiet moves in the middle of an attack especially after a piece sac when it is hard to imagine there is time for such a move
Kasparov is such a gangster, he's like the incredibly-evil-yet-charismatic villain of the film, that somehow results to be the true protagonist being himself a better character than the actual protagonist.
25:10 I think is just the most beautiful pawn structure I’ve ever seen it’s so aesthetically pleasing
Indeed!

I still remember "getting mated in the back... phrasing could have been better" - Gotham
my personal favorite Gotham quote is “doubled pawns in the center of the board, the only kind of double d’s you might not want”
"Your king is offside.... VAR confirmed"
There is also something along the lines of “shoving the D pawn down the board” 😂
@King Omar666 levy noticed it as well, is he a dirty minded child as well?
Pure chess poetry from a talented orator?
I conclude, Garry has seen your ''how to beat a world champion'' video.
25:40 "wouldn'tbe wonderful if i could put my queen there" Chatgpt: "allow me"
karpov was like the jiu-jitsu master that won by submission, while kasparov was the muai-thai specialist that won with a flying knee to the face
Interesting comparisons!
Hahahahah very creative and funny analogies indeed
underrated comment @@rokanza2293
Thanks Gotham, for entertaining and teaching me and min. 1, 13 million other people with chess content reguarly. It never keeps getting boring and has been my favorite KZhead content for the time I watched your videos. Keep up the good work

Couldn't agree more. Without doubt the best chess site on SOCIAL media! How can people hate on this, but again everything that is good always have haters, so levy should feel proud to have haters, means he is doing something right.
Beautiful video. I really enjoy Levy's recaps of historical games
Garry was the pinnacle of the Botvinnik chess school. A universal player that had pure understanding of the position and the ability to create combinations out of no where. He truly is the greatest of all time.
Exactly. I mean, I enjoy watching chess streamers nowadays, but that's extremely far from what chess is all about. Dang, Nakamura and others drawing every single match even on move like 10... absurd... Re-watching this got me feeling refreshed a lot
Kasparov is the GOAT. But what about the recaps? btw I checked and yes, Kramnik blundered his queen
2nd
#suggestion Biggest upsets in chess history (favored player losing against underdog and etc.)
ya i remember this game. one of the best. both of these two players influenced me to try to be better at chess both positionally and tactically
I was expecting the Evan's gambit game against Anand tbh

that game against kramnik was astounding. so many unintuitive, sophisticated moves in succession that garry calculated along with every other branching line.
Kasparov has such an incredible style
Great video! Thanks for sharing these pearls! Btw Novgorod pronounces with stress on the first syllable.
You and agadmator are my favorite chess content creators. Thx for your work
Check out the Backyard Professor too.
I love this type of videos! Can't get enough of them :DD
kasparov's games are the best ones
What a brilliantly entertaining show of a master monster at work
The kramnik game is actually insane it breaks my mind how he is able to calculate so many things with every piece on the board hanging
Subscribed. Thought i was already. You got me back into chess man. Thank you.
Levy, Novgorod is pronounced with the stress on the first syllable, almost got that one right :) Greetings from Moscow!
I've seen 6 different videos explaining Kasparov v/s Topalov and I never get bored man.
The last game was worth seeing for the 2nd time and so probably is worth seeing a lot ;) btw the absolute madness of a combination there was not calculated till the end or anything, rather garry's intuition was saying that he has enough (as I remember from some interview)
great video levy! i was just going to comment on last vid requesting more on kasparov! thank you!
Great perspective on pre engine tactics, or slaughters. Gary said he usually saw 6 moves ahead, more like 10 I'd say, but such foresight seems lacking today due to the razor defences of engine training. I'm a noob so don't hate me if I have belittled anyone, but as engines are becoming spiteful and torturing good players I wonder what new skills are needed to succeed in chess.
Greater pattern recognition maybe and a stronger sense of the geometry of the board? Someday humans will hit fide ratings of 3000+. Especially since new gms are now around 13-15 on average
Yup
This was an amazing Video. I'm from Bangladesh, I always love your videos, improved my game alot watching your instructions and regularly watch guess the Elo every night. I have a request, can you make a video of Mikhail Tal like the way you made this video or the video about Sultan Khan? Keep going on Levy , you are doing Great 👌👌👌 Thank you.
love the passion for the game! great vid
I replayed this game from the back pages of USA Today Sports section....those were great days and games
Would also be cool to see some of best of games of karpov.
gary won with pure force of will. he just tried that damn hard. concentrated so hard he willed the world to conform to his pieces lol
I’d rather not imagine a world filled with such dogged tryhards
bro drop the hardest line known to man and ended it with "lol"
Today I was down 2 rooks in a game and then opponent blundered mate in 1 , felt like a pro. I cant even comprehend te feeling you get when you win a very complex game calculating all the possibilities and winning in each and everyone of them .
Levy this is exactly what I needed today. Fantastic chess and a fantastic overview.
The octopus knight game and the immortal against Topalov never get old...
Great video. What software do you use to present these videos?
How have I never seen the octopus knight game? I've seen so many games but that was absolutely incredible. Looked like Magnus vs a 2200 player... And it was against a top 5 all time player
It's a very famous game from that '85 match.
this is problably the most beautiful video i've watched this whole year
I remember the first video I watched on this channel.. It was about you attending some chess school where Gary teached.. Awesome stuff :D
Even Chuck Norris' greatest fear is a situation facing the beast of Baku in some dark, outlying alley. Don't run away because the last thing you should do is make Kasparow hunt you. Wouldn't end very well. There is also a video analysis of Kasparow vs. Topalow by The Big Greek from Germany. We saw the line when Topalow got mated with the pawns. Only in that one specific line, Kasparow had no pieces left but his pawns. Just amazing.
I'd love to see you cover some attacking games from Mikhail Tal!
Would like to see a breakdown of game 10 on the 1995 world championship Garry vs vishy in the World Trade Center I think it’s one of the best games of all time
Hu Gowtham really love your video and analysis keep going on like this😀
Levy, please make a similar video for vishy as well when he was WC from 2006 to 2013
Hello Levy! I have been a subscriber for over a year and I wanted to thank you for your videos. I had played tournaments when I was younger, and then had to stop to play chess to study. But after I turned 18, I restarted playing, teaching myself as a hobby. I could climb to 1750-1800, and now I'm 21 and I have just hit 2000 rating points just from the studying of your videos. Thank You very very much! Maybe you don't respond to many messages, but I hope you'll see it ever.
Omg how wholesome good luck with chess!
Gud luk
Kasparov: the only one with light square bishop and puts all his pawns on light squares Levy: fascinating *when i do it* Levy: do you have any idea how bad this is? You should probably quit chess 27:40
Would be great if you did a series focused on how super strong GMs play certain openings, your analysis would be much better than doing that on my own... Examples: 5 games where Magnus plays the London and 5 where he plays against it; Kasparov and the King's Indian; Hikaru/Anish and the Italian; Vachier/Nepo and the Grunfeld, etc. Your analysis of the different middle game plans on the same opening and how they play against it would be fantastic!
I loved the have do you use a shield, do you move the shield in front of you or do you move yourself behind the shield?
Omg what an absolute madman, insane play
Who is ur favorite gm levy
Me (lie)
Watching Kasparov play short in the early 80s got me interested in chess.
7:25 is the embodiment of “knights on the rim are dim”
Hi Levy. Can we see some Alekhine games, please? You mention a lot that Alpha Zero “invented” h4 and all, but Alekhine did it often in his day and against strong players like Maroczy and Rubinstein. Plus he’s has killer games like his one against Reti in 1925 and all. I don’t remember if you’ve done anything on him yet. Thanks. Cheers
By far the best Gotham video! 🔥
Keep doing stuff like this: Morphy, Capablanca, Anand...all the greats. You know.
Very nice games. Game 3 was nuts!
If chess was the Matrix, the Gary is the architect, Magnus is Neo and Hikaru is trinity..... 🤔
Wow thoes games were amazing. His a genius for sure.
Gotham, do you have any tips for when you don’t know what to move? I often get stuck, and I just move a random piece, and sometimes it hurts me.
Kasparov vs Topalov it's the most beautiful game of chess EVER PLAYED
After Rxd4, Topalov could have played ... Kb6 (noted by Kasparov himself), after which things are not so clear. Which is why I've always felt that previous game against Kramnik was Garry's true immortal.
I still want to see you thoroughly explore the Polish Opening.
17:00 You forgot to mention Alekhine, bruh.. He has been playing that h4 move in most of his games. Another man of culture🤣
We need an extra hour of this 😂💚
I wonder if there was a Nigel D Long somewhere as well
26:26 Rxf6 doesn’t really make sense to me. Does black have a threat? It seems like Bxf6 or Qxf6 would be nice to pressure the diagonal more
"I'm not good at English, I'm good at making chess videos." - Levy Rozman, 2021
34:40 i just can't stop laughing of imagining Topalov literally stealing Kasparov pawn off the board and run away (probably to Fabiano house or sum)
Great videos great analysis thanks friend
can you please do a video like this for anand, maybe a few anand-kramnik games
You should do a “best games of all world champions” series
after this video it's pretty clear, that "OG" stands for "Ominous Garry"
This is where Levy shines imo. Guess the elo is great and he's really funny but I feel like his passion and reverence for the game comes out in his analysis of games played by the greats. That passion singlehandedly got me into chess.
Yh, guess the elo is fun, but that’s about it.
Do one of Wesley So. I really like his style and in today's world, he is as far apart as it can get in terms of style.
The fifth game between Garry and Veselin is familiar, I think Levy had made a video about it before😅😅
The virgin "ladies and gentlemen" intro vs the chad "you absolute legends"
You can't show violence KZhead. Gotham: let's see some Kasparov murders.
You should make a video like this of Tal games!
Hey levy great content could you please do a similar kind of video of Anand as well for the indian fans lots of love cheers
I was a Garry Kasparov fanboy in the 80s and 90s. Very flamboyant guy too in his own way, and by chess standards of the day.
No Levy, you are one of the greatest chess players ever lived. Thanks for your videos !
He is worth more than a queen
Isn't he still living??!?
Garrys gameplay is just epic
20:53 Why is Rxg4 not a move here for black? It looks to me like a free bishop.
In the game vs Topalov when Queen takes Knight on f6 if Topalov finds the check with rook on d1 Casparov only moove is king b2 after that queen d4 check and its forced Queen trade and its 2 rooks vs rook and bishop endgame.
I see that guy, Garry is it ?, was not only looking for checks and attacks, he was also creative.
in spanish the spawn of 5 years time its called a "lustro" :D (just sharing information nobody needs to know xD)
In the octopus knight game, why not just give up the pawn and drop your bishop back to E2 to attack the knight? Kasparov would no longer have been able to defend it there and it would have to move out, or am I missing something?
Kasparov once said that a secured knight on d6 is equal to a rook in strength
Kasparov is just so good
I guess age is the best chess player as it can beat anyone
And then there was the time when Garry was checkmated in 17 moves by Mikhail Tal.
Love Your vids man! Keep up the good work
