i've been following you for a couple years now and have learned so much about falling trees safely. i can't do it as i'm disabled but i love the channel, keep up the good work Bjarne.
Heaven
Did it have a tail? I'm pretty sure it was a Mountain Beaver (Aplodontia rufa) also known as a boomer. Common critter in the western coastal woods, BC, WA, OR & CA...
Don't be scared Bjarne😊
Bjarne, you must love your rain gear, patches and all.😅
Haha ya their the best I’ve used

Wanted to see it hit the ground. Darn!!
Bjarne did you see a Hammer fur , see them out there in early 70 buddy . 😊
There are various types of saws such as circular saws, reciprocating saws, band saws, each suitable for different purposes and materials.
It was an expat wombat.

With giant nuts
Great view! Hey Bjarne, what do you use as a axe holder? I see a "eye" welded to the axe head but what is the clip on your belt? Thanks!
Just a metal hook I welded up. I have an old video titled: Belt and Axe, where I go through my setup

Hi Bjarne! Chain and sprocket set up? 3/8 .063 full skip with a 7 tooth or 8 tooth sprocket? Anyone left running 404? Do you think a full comp or full skip cuts faster, particularly when bucking? Thanks!!!
Are you naturally ambidexterous? Or have you trained yourself to work both ways? Fascinating. Thank you.
Just training. Lots of repetition 🤙
could have been a mountain pika kinda looks ike a rabbit but with round ears
Bjarne, I'm as old as dirt and haven't done any falling for over 40 years. Just curious if Spenser tapes are still king of the woods. Still use horseshoe nails?
Yes Spencer tapes are still used. A lot of guys use husky tapes now

@@BjarneButler Really enjoy these videos, Bjarne. You're doing great work, and it's wonderful to have it all "on film." Many thanks. And don't hurt the bunnies.
Maybe a Mountain beaver
🤣
I imagine most of these big trees are air lifted out of the bush because of limited access. Does the helicopter have a 'spotter' or do you GPS the co-ordinates as you cut down these large trees ? Does the helicopter have its own grappling system of does someone have to be on the ground to attach the trees to the lifting system ?
Someone will come in and mark the logs that fly.some of it is by grapple and sometimes there is ground crew that sets chokers.some hellis have two pilots one to spot the other flys the machine.search some other videos there’s lots
When he first started this unit he said there was going to be a yarder running grapples on this one. He was explaining in this video that there was going to be a road punched in so that definitely means it's going to be a yarder.
👋🏻
Maybe a Fischer Cat?
Any morels out there?
Good eating.
What model chainsaw do you use?
Hva 592
I bet you saw a mountain beaver.
It was a woodchuck!😬
Mountain beaver, their burrows can break your ankle, be careful
🤣
Big fat bottom you just describe half the women in North Idaho😊😊😊😊
Bushrat.
Bjarne cuts down all the trees and the squirrels have no place to live. Bad, Bjarne, bad.
Don't worry... Lots and lots of forest over there !
It’s what we do for a living.Don’t hug the trees too hard you’ll get slivers.😂
@@polarlab113 I hope you know I was kidding. I logged at the family ranch in Montana for many years.
@@Alexhulk I was kidding. From time to time I bug Bjarne about taking away all the bunny habitat.
