  • What a strong and brave young woman. She went through hell but had the power to comfort her friend Hana who was dying next to her. Kylie, if you ever read this, you are a fighter shining brightly through the darkness. I wish you a beautiful life despite all the difficulties. I wish you happiness and success on the path you will choose. I wish you that your pain can be relieved somehow. I wish you to be able to sit on your beloved horse someday.

  • As a former student of UNC Charlotte, which as many know, was the site of a deadly shooting back in 2019, hearing this girl speak absolutely broke my heart. Similar to her, in the days following that day, especially when I came home for the summer, the amount of survivor's guilt I felt was through the roof. Since I was going to be entering my senior year in the fall, a thought that was constantly in the back of my mind was that even though my parents would be able to see me walk the stage at commencement the following year, the parents of the two students who lost their lives will never get that chance. Kylie, if you ever see this, just know that even though I don't know you personally, I have your back and wish you nothing but happiness on your path. I wish there was something I could do to take your pain away.

She is as she said a very strong person, she’d have to be to be able to stand there and read her victim impact statement without completely falling apart. Rest in Peace Hana. Thank God you at least had one friend there with you before you tragically died. I long for a day where we don’t hear in the news that yet another school shooting or shooting of innocent people has happened AGAIN in the US. There has to be a way to stop the violence that has permeated so many people’s lives. Innocent people that just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. No parent should EVER worry that their child is going to be hurt or murdered at school. How many more have to die before those in positions of power do something about it? Sending Kylie and all the families and friends of those victims that both survived and didn’t survive from Australia.

Practicing shooting-to-kill IS NOT wholesome family recreation. 5. Buying a military-grade weapon for your mentally deranged child as a Christmas gift may not be such a good idea. 6. Storing a loaded weapon in an unsecured location IS NOT responsible parenting. 7. If school personnel advise you to remove your child and take him for professional help, do not say "I'm too busy with work." 8. If you find out that the law is after you, do not flee 50 miles away and attempt to hide out in a warehouse. 9. Do not claim in court that "the system is to blame."

The kid very clearly stated in his notebook that he was deeply struggling with severe mental health issues, was actively in crisis, had repeated begged and pleaded for help, and his parents completely & utterly ignored him. They cared more about their horses. His mother cared more about having an affair. This kid was in crisis, knew it, which doesn’t always happen, repeatedly asked for help, which also doesn’t happen very often in these extreme cases, and they failed him at every turn. Not everyone is bullied. However, consistently, statistically, all roads lead back to some form of parental negligence or abuse in the majority of these mass shooting cases. The people who want to keep guns in the hands of the demographic most responsible for these horrific shootings are the same people who REFUSE to pass funding to guarantee access to mental health services for these youth in crisis. And then they point the finger at every & any other person & thing they can. Disgusting.

  • So sad to lose so much innocently at a young age - usually females have to get married to lose that much of their passions and interests.

  • I’m so sorry honey that you Lost your dream. I have 2 show horses Bono my jumper and Stepping Out who I show in dressage. I got my first horse at 2. Horses are very therapeutic so little by little try to get back up and ride again. Your horse will be patient and wait for you until you’re ready. Sending you love and big hugs 🤗
