Baby gorilla Sumomo comes close to her father gorilla Haoko these days.
Sumomo looked nervous or scared a little of his father with muscular large body, but she is now so curious about him now.
She looks so happy to be with her kind father that she walkd around him and beasts her chest (drumming).
I can't wait to see Sumomo and Haoko play together 🦍🦍

Sumomo has Haoko besotted already 😄😄😄😄 She knows daddy is her protector, and the only thing scarier than an ever vigilant dad is an ever vigilant mom. Notice everyone stays away when dad is babysitting. Even Riki isn't brave enough to get too close. Also, I love seeing the size of tiny Sumomo next to Haoko. 😍😍😍😍😍
I think the girls have mellowed a bit they had no problem dancing around him when he had little Riki. One would distract him while the other one grabbed the baby. ;)

Glad she’s starting to bond with her dad; she seemed a bit frightened of him at first, having spent the first few months of her life only with her mom.
I guess she will play with Haoko happily in a few months 🦍🦍

Sumomo looks very comfortable in the company of her father. He moves to his right as she comes closer (until there's nowhere for him to go). Sumomo looks happy and her father looks a bit confused - as though he's trying to figure out if someone is pranking him. He looks as though he needs to be rescued😂

Sumomo is such a solid little personality, she is definitely finding her own place in this family and gaining in confidence every day. The rest of the family love her, some maybe a little bit too roughly 😀 but its this love and care that has given her enough confidence to start this charm offensive on her Daddy. And look at her beautiful sister Kokomono, all chilled and relaxed by her side letting her do her brave bold thing whilst also keeping a close eye on her. Haoko looks a bit uncomfortable when she scoots too close behind him, maybe he's worried about squishing her! He certainly seems accepting of her. Is he a hands off Dad or did he play with his other kids when they were little?
Haoko did and does play with Sumomo's siblings. He kidnapped his little kid from Momoko and ran away 🦍
He's so passive about his food. He just lets her eat.

Yes they’re at Ueno Zoo, and Momotaro moved from Ueno to Kyoto City Zoo.

Haoko looks indifrent to baby Sumomo.
Silverbacks often appear quite aloof with their young , but their primary role is to watch out for and protect them. They may not seem to notice them much but if any possible danger presents itself, then they’re instantly on high alert and no one and nothing is going to hurt that baby.
He’s not going ga-ga over the baby, but he’s certainly very accepting of her being close to him and - perhaps more importantly - she has no fear of approaching him. That’s a huge step forward in her development - she’s becoming a happy, confident member of the troupe❣️ 😃❤ I guess he’s just one of those ‘hands-off’ dads. 😂

@@vjc2270 Wondering if you've seen videos of when Komomo and Momoka were babies? It was so funny - he 'kidnapped' both while still very young. He would pick up each one holding her in his two hands in front of him and ran past Momoko. As soon as he was past, Momoko would take off after him walking very fast. It was priceless! There is also a video of Haoko on all fours with a very young Komomo standing in the middle of his back. In my view, it was hysterical since he is so large, and she was so small. Wonder if the circumstances surrounding Sumomo's birth being separated and cared for by keepers, and Momoko being so ill, makes this birth different. However, we could still see Haoko 'kidnap' Sumomo as he did her sisters. 😂😉
@@Charlotte-r I have seen those videos… they are priceless… and they surely got Momoko’s heart rate up. Haoko was extremely careful when carrying the infants, tho ❤️

It is not normal that there are multiple silverback(adult male) gorillas in ONE troop. A gorilla troop is composed of one silverback, multiple females, and their offsprings. So Haoko and Shabani were separated and each of them has their own troop🦍🦍
