Series within series within series. Series-ception. Assassin's Creed Revelations is the end of the Ezio trilogy, smack dab in the middle of the hundreds of Assassins Creed games. Now this may not be as exciting with historical characters or types like Greek warriors, Pirates, and more, but this wraps up the narrative they were playing with rather than creating world adventure. Let's jump into my Assassin's Creed Revelations review!

AC Revelations has one of the most lit game trailers ever.
''Deep in the ocean, dead and cast away...""
They have generally been good with trailers from the get go, but yah that one is well stuck in my mind.
One of not many trailers, thst made me cry happy tears
It's so good. I've seen it so many times

"Present day ancestor" No, the word you're looking for is descendant.
And the "world" you're looking for is word.
No, I believe the word you're looking for is AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
THANK YOU. It’s been driving me crazy. He did the same thing in another vid, and I commented the same thing there. I also did here before seeing yours.
Landon Norman I’m going to point out there’s a big difference in a typo and using a word entirely incorrectly, and this isn’t the first vid in which he’s called Demond the “present day ancestor” of Ezio.
It’s just his way of wording it, who cares?
"AC: Revelations doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, or the hidden blade for that matter" Wasn't the Hookblade introduced in Revelations?
Yep. And then immediately dropped from future games.
theconcernedbanana Yes, it is literally a game that reinvented the hidden blade.
I like that it added more depth to climbing.
Id love a re-introduction to the hook blade in the next AC game-imagine all the cool mechanics they could pull off with it
The hookblade has 2 parts The hook And the blade An elegant design
Fun fact: If you fully complete the Lost Archive before starting the Main Game, all Desmond's memories will be available without collecting any fragments.
Tq
oh, wow. i had no clue. but then again i didn't really enjoy collecting shit nor did i enjoy the stupid puzzle game for his memories. the memories were a cool addition his story. but it was annoying because i was focusing more on the puzzle than his story, which means i likely missed most of the context. it's almost like there should have been an easier activity that wasn't too difficult to maintain while listening at the same time. and they probably thought that this was mundane enough for that. but yeah, i would rather get the information solving an easier puzzle than the way that was implemented.
Walter Acevedo tf really I was collecting all those when I didn’t have to all this time
Both are available off the bat on PS4. I never started Lost Archive before the main game let alone complete it but I had all 5 of Desmond's memories available from the beginning.
So that's why I was confused that they were available immediately! I thought it was just an Ezio collection change
“With Ezio and Altair’s present day ancestor...” descendant... the word you were looking for there was descendant
he did the same thing in his AC Brotherhood video. I'm not sure if he is completely clueless or if he's doing it on purpose at this point.
@@React2Quick nah he's just stupid and is completing games quickly so he can just make money. He truly doesn't care.
This is one of my favorite AC games. Idk why but I LOVED old man Ezio. It was super fun and he was still a badass! Great video!
Kristian Kleiber, I was just about to comment that
It’s been so long since I’ve played this game, but to this day I still try to climb buildings with the hook-claw jump in other AC games. I think that just shows how good the movement was in this game!
@@KingNoNamer don't forget the best, ultimate time-saver the hook provided: quick combat-pickpocketing
Yeah, it's a favorite of mine as well. Plus, it made me actually give a damn about Altair when I really kind of hated him him AC1. I felt bad by the time it had gotten done showing just HOW much Altair had suffered because of his youthful arrogance.
Same. Also the map and story was much better than brotherhood.
Changing things in the end of a trilogy makes no sense The witcher 3: *angry noises*
The part at the end of the game when Ezio is explaining the Creed to Sophia and then discovers Altair's body is one of my favorite moments ever in a game. I love when games in a series actually acknowledge their predecessors, which is something the later AC games have been missing
i always felt this one got less credit than it deserved - glad you enjoyed it!
That scene at the end when Ezio finds Altair's skeleton was so tear jerking, I literally cried :(
Requiescat in pace, Altaïr.
Most legendary scene in gaming for me imo

I just stated playing AC: Revelations again and I'm glad that youtube recommended me this video. Edit: Ow shit google IS spying on us, isn't it?
I loved the Ezio trilogy so much. I purchased them for PC when I finally got a gaming rig, and I'll probably rebuy them when I get a PS5. It was so cool growing with the character, and watching Embers definitely was a perfect send off.
I love your reviews but when you say something like Ezio's ancestor Desmond it simultaneously makes me smile and kind of scream inside because Desmond is a Descendant of Ezio. It's a small thing and not worth nitpicking but it messes my brain hearing ancestor when descendant is meant. Keep being awesome Jirard and sorry for the long-ish rant.
Go outside sometime man
I didn't mind it...I thought it was intentional, it gave me a good laugh😂
@@lester18lc oh I laugh at it too. Like I said, it's a small thing to think of but sometimes it just catches my attention.

The Midnight Club 3 theme song at 5:38 brings back so many memories. Come on Rockstar, give us another Midnight Club.
I remember preordering this game to unlock Vlad Tepes' Sword. By far the coolest sword in the series with its animations.
Where in the game can you access this sword?
Its a dlc, its included in the remaster though
Revelations is my favorite. I like Ezio most as an old seasoned assassin
Really ehh well everyone has his own opinions mine is brotherhood and I like iv a lot too
His outfit in Revelations was a big draw for me personally.
it was more improved on free run aspect and fight As it was new otherwise others are also nice

The best part about this game is how brutal Ezio has become with his kills. Whether its feeding a man your sword or slowly slicing the blade over his neck
redmangc ezio stabbing a guy in the chest/neck ok nice then he lifts him up with his sword and then it’s basically “Ezio what the fuck happened to you to make you so brutal and how do I do it” also use hidden blade and hook blade the animations were amazing
It’s been so long since I’ve played Revelations. It was nice to get a refresher.
I'm sure it's annoying as a completionist but I really liked the multiplayer. It was so different from everything else.
I honestly wasn't crazy about the multiplayer. I found it got very repetitive very quickly.
Mike Cabral what multiplayers did you play? In revelations you had so much gamemodes that were fun. I found that I liked capture the flag the best one, you could attack or defend every game you could switch style and if your enemies were good you had to play more to get better.
i'm still playing mulitplayer on ps3, it's pretty active on weekdays
I loved the multiplayer in these games, I hope UBI will make it return in future installments. It is not for everyone, but it had and still does have a passionate community of players. And don't even get me started on the characters... They had so much personality for a char, that doesn't ever speak. All done through their attire, and excellent animations.
@@omarbataine3524 RIP revalations multiplayer on ps3
Soooooo. The Metal Gear series? Eh? Eh? Dont worry. I'm pretty sure no one wants to see you complete MG Survive. You can have a mulligan on that one my dude.
brent2k5 did jirard say hes going to do it?
Nah, I want to see it done.
Who doesn’t its one of the greatest games of all time
I'm currently playing MGS 5 again. After I just completed 3 and 4. Sad what happened to MGS 5. Could have been a masterpiece.
Speak for yourself. Take the Kojima fanboy blinders off and it's actually a great game. Best horror game in years, and definitely the best zombie game I've ever played. Not perfect by a longshot, but it's just popular to hate it, partially because of Kojima (ps, Death Stranding is going to suck), partially because Konami is the actual worst.
Although this is not the best of the Ezio trilogy, I'd say this game was a great conclusion to his arc. Even if he's past his prime, he's still got it.
Gotta agree this one and then black flag are my favorites. Really wish they had a proper collection for my switch.
I hope Ubisoft ports a bunch of games to the next Xbox, PlayStation, and to the Switch
Red Ned we have the ezio collection for ps4 and xbox one and the next xbox will be fully backwards compatible
ZeldaLord Not fully because there are some games for xbox one that they won’t waste their time on
Red Ned they said that xbox scarlet will be fully compatible with xbox one games at e3
ZeldaLord They said that they’ll try
Very sad you couldn't review the multiplayer, that was my favorite part of the game! Knowing that you outsmarted a real person was way more satisfying than sneaking on an AI
I'm so happy you actually went and did it this was my first real push towards gaming and got me wondering if anyone could actually complete it with all that was in it
I couldn't help but feel like you were sponsoring the fast and the furious with how many times you referenced them XD.
This was the game that nearly made me have tears come out of my eyes.
Just found your channel and I can’t stop. I’m addicted. Why are your videos so damn watchable?
happy to see you still going at it love you man
Jirard, you did *not* just shit talk the cat and mouse greatness of Asscreed multiplayer. I know you didn't.
Absolutely loved the Ezio Trilogy. I played each game at least twice back in the day when I had my PS3. I dedicated a bunch of hours to platinum them in-between semesters, good times.
The 360 pan at the end and Altair snuffing the torches and Ezio lighting them up. That was soooo epic .
Something I'd like to clarify: Mediterranean Defense doesn't have anything to do with Den Defense. That one is an extended version of the Contracts minigame in AC Brotherhood. Den Defense is triggered whenever you have one of the Assassin Dens that isn't being staffed by one of the several Grand Master Assassins that you can level up your recruits to. In order to get the trophy/achievement, you have to win three of these BEFORE completing all of the Grand Master Assassin questlines.
assassin`s creed: revelations was my fav assassin game
kind of blows me away how well the fast and the furious comparisons actually work
if that is the case no wonder why both these franchises suck now
This brings back so many memories omg the climbing of anything basically and the best part is when Ezio travels to the big cave island towards the end just such a really good game
I always cry at the end when Ezio is in the Vault. Meeting the waiting remains of Altair and accepting that his purpose to humanity was coming to a close, I get teary. He also gives the most awesome speeches.
The Fast & Furious metaphors or whatever felt really weird... If your next project isn't a racing game, I'll be mildly disappointed. (I'll get over it.)
nowadays Jiard, I think I’d love up the hype if you completed all of the current Minecraft achievements, swing as Minecraft has been really popular recently.
This...

When hasn't Minecraft been popular, lol. 😅
Did he just say "swing as" and no one gonna comment in that? It's seeing as.

Literally just finished the plat for this one on the collection today and this pops up. Good timing Gerard.
I enjoyed my playthrough, but I honestly felt no need to do more than finish it. It was a solid, fun game and a fitting end to our window-hopping, audience-seducing assassin from Firenze. Solid job as always, Jirard and the Completionist Crew! Keep keeping it ‘treal, my dudes!
When I played this, I managed to keep my strongholds to where I only had to do the tutorial tower defense. Definitely made this game easier because I didn't have to worry about that stupid minigame.
I am playing this game right now and just stopped to watch you play it so I can go back to playing it
Playception?? Lol. 😅😅
Great video loved the fast and the furious jokes haha!
This is one of my favourites of the series the music is just masterclass and I didn’t even know about the whole reading books and finding armour thing that is very Skyrim not surprising since they came out the same year
Where do you keep all the things you put in the background for each video?
In his beard
I love this game. This is my favorite game in the Ezio Trilogy. My second favorite in the franchise next to Black Flag. Also, the music that plays whenever he talks about Fast and the Furious makes me crack up for some reason.
Bruce Wayne how many of them did you play out of them all and do you have other suggestions for game series (I need to learn English more and this series already helped a lot and I want to play good games)
Andre Merrick i played all of them except rogue. Good games series I would recommend are any western RPG games because they have all of dialogue you can listen to Mass Effect.
Bruce Wayne thanks
This was my favorite AC game, and you're one of my favorite KZheadrs. Perfect match 💯🙏
I am not a huge fan of Assassin's Creed, but I loved all the episodes you made for them! Thanks for the great content!

Here’s some game recommendations: Silent Hill Hot Shots Tennis Uncharted Lost Legacy Rise of the Tomb Raider DOOM II (Not Eternal, the OG) Super Paper Mario Chibi-Robo! Shovel Knight (One Day!) More classic adventure games (Like Grim Fandango)
The 1rst and last mission "carriage chases" were my favourites.I can see where that level from Uncharted 4 came from.
Great episode, Jirard! I’ve never been a fan of the assassins creed games. The controls feel very simple and it makes the gameplay feel rather boring for me. But I love watching your run through of these, because then I get to see why these games are so well known!
P-E-R-S-O-N-A, PERSONA! Seriously tho, I’m pretty hopeful for Persona 5 Completionist. It’s one hell of a game, and definitely worth the time.
Kieran Miday he’s still trying to finish it
Shlouldn't he wait for the new definitive version coming out?
Have you been working on batman Arkham knight at all since you have done all the other ones
The opening scene of this game was fantastic. Also, I loved the set pieces that occurred at various points in the game. For story driven players like myself, I think this was amazing. Definitely one of my favorites in the whole series.
I still get goosebumps withe the library scene. "No books... no wisdom... just you, fratello mio"
Awesome. I loved AC:R, well this one. Rogue was ok. It really had potential. cool to see it get an episode. I have been hoping Jirard would do a Completionist episode on one of the games in the Yakuza series, preferably Yakuza Zero. But this is great
Do you shave your bears whenever you make a new intro? Or do you have a twin that just has no beard
I would love more assassins creed videos so much, jirard! Please and thanx!
It’s the first ac game I played when my dad got it for me and it was so much fun to go back and play the earlier ones
please do Black flag!!! I 100% it twice!!!
Since it's almost 5 years ago this month since Robin Williams died, which games would you like to see Jirad play based on films the late actor's been in? 1. Robots 2. Night at the Museum 2 3. Happy Feet 4. Hook
No Death To Smoochie games? Or Patch Adams? XD
I think he already celebrated Robin Williams pretty well with Aladdin. Don't make the poor man play those games XD
Great video as always, Jirard!
Thank you for this video! This game is so underrated and easily in my top 3-4
Am I the only one who prefers ezios revelations robes over 2 or brotherhood?
I prefer the Revelations robes also
I like the brotherhood one but the revelations are cool too
xSOTELOx74x they’re beautiful.
At least they are dark. Wearing bright white flashy robes seems about as far from stealthy as possible.
This game was not really “necessary” in the overall series (I feel like Ezio’s journey through Brotherhood was satisfying), but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
his retirement was one of the best moments in the series. Also, Altair is aewsome in this game
really like the midnight club music when talking about The Fast and The Furious series. it struck a particular nostalgia nerve with me
Ezio going from a vengeful young man to badass old man in the span of the Ezio trilogy really felt awesome. Watching him grow older and wiser was a great journey.
The multiplayer was so good though, I loved destroying idiots that ran around like they were playing mirror's edge
Never played it but they might have looked at you as someone who was camping not having and laughing at you as well.
Ezio also had a DS game, but for the love of God don't play it
Zachary Erickson don’t do it.
Well it's definitely better than this microtransactions infested, SWJ, RPG trash we got nowadays. Then again that's not exactly a high standard.
Hynotama I think the series needed an overhaul. It got stale around unity. I completed origins and never felt pressured to use microtransactions. So I’m glad that the series evolved instead of died.
@@SheepShade I used some cosmetic ones cause I felt like it. Nothing felt necessary to buy tho.
For as much love as it gets, blame Black Flag for making microtransactions a key feature. They deliberately made the pirating grindy, then sold "time saver" resources packs so you could bypass the hours of ship combat needed to advance the story.
The way I see Desmond's Memories, they are an intelligent deconstruction of Animus' mechanics, as the controls used for running as Ezio are the ones we use to create blocks and walk.
i have revelations in collectors edition format. Man, back in the day when you got manual and DVDs with your purchase of a game or collectors edition xD
Best game. Most under-rated in the saga of Desmond
So many people do not like this game and I don’t know why. The outfits are beautiful the story is good and it provides an ending for ezio.
Rolando Feliciano No, Brotherhood remains the best in the trilogy.
I liked it also very much. By the way, I wonder how people do not mention the incredible attention for details they put in to.For example, I was allways amazed by the facts that the npcs had really interesting, multile conversations, the enemies(not all, of course, but the most powerfull ones, masked) were threatening You while fighting them, and they words sounded very authentic and linked to the historical setting. I remember sitting in groups of people fora while, which allowed You to listen to their conversation, telling the stories of their life or some usual stuff they do or happened to them(I still recall a woman saying his husband went on a cargo boat). And the way the people reacted to Yor climbing as a weird and dangerous stuff was so funny and realistic, they were often turning their had surprised to You and were saying some comments like ``Isn't this to foolish to do this on Your age?``. The combat was very brutal and I liked the short slow motion moments, when finishing a enemy, which permited You to see clearly overwise maby the too fast move Ezio was making. The sound design was very convincing, accurate, and I still remember the pure joy I was experiencing while striking ennemies with my favorite weapon, the hammer, and feeling the each hitton their armor resonate like bang!, bang!, and bang!!!( I think also that the series combat lost a lot of charm replacing the period when soldiers did not have at all or not as much armor than the Renaissance ones.). Not to mention the astonishing graphics and the really good looking sky. The soundtrack, still composed by Jesper Kyd, added so much charm to the game. And the fact that it was not stoping, if my memory serves me well, during Your free roames though the city transformed the game into some kind of Witcher 3 experience( I adored particularly the themes that ran at night or during Your adventures in the amazing bellow surface zones seekig for some artifact). Ultimately, I could conclude that the fact that it was released to early after Broth..., when the players got sick or bored by the series maybe, determined the public not to appreciate it so much. Perhaps, even if this could sound strange because this is the last title of a saga, the newcommers are more suitable to give it the deserveble credit.
Play Bomerman Generation, Red Dead Redemption 2, Tiny Defense 1 and 2, and Rugrats the Royal Ransom.
This is my first completionist video, and how he was explaining the game, I was reminded of a vg myths episode.
I would love to see you tackle the Ratchet and Clank collection or even the R&C Future titles. Lots of fun to be had lots of guns to be obtained. I could even see you making a top ten list of your favorite weapons from the series.
Does anyone else still play this game
It's been a few years since I played Revelations, but I got the Ezio Trilogy for ps4 and i'm working my way through them
Sometimes I play it if I really want to relax
I would love for Jirard to just skip AC3 and go straight to Black Flag. But those multiplayer trophies are gonna be a pain
I love this game, but gave up on the multiplayer achievements. It is ridiculous to reach level 50 on this game, especially being an old game which you will not find some of the lobbies needed to unlock the achievements
I vacationed in Istanbul before I played this game. It shocked the hell out of me when I first got to the Hippodrome and I **recognized** the obelisks there. Today they stand in Sultanahmet Square, between the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. It's a beautiful city and the devs did a fantastic job capturing it. I hope to go again one day. Probably a big part of why Revelations is my favorite entry in the franchise so far (with the possible exception of Origins, but that one I like mostly for the setting as its plot left much to be desired). I was able to avoid doing any den defenses after the "tutorial" one by keeping on top of my bribes. A fun challenge I set for myself was to actually minimize the number of guards I killed throughout the game who weren't directly affiliated with the templars -- something I actually try to do in all AC games. Getting Sofia's package off of the impounded ship without being detected was a particularly difficult challenge. Figure she wouldn't be thrilled to learn that Ezio had killed half a dozen people to do it...
Assassin‘s creed 2 was one of the first games I ever picked picked up for my PS3 and I remember playing the ever living crap out of it. I remember seeing the sequels coming out and I was like there’s more they carry on Ezios trilogy and end it. I look back on those days when I was 12. I didn’t like call of duty never had internet to play it. So I filled my time with story games like these. Those were the days And playing these games fill me with immense amounts of nostalgia.
The second I start to play this game for the first time, Jirard releases this video.......Coincidence??????
I THINK NOT
That's an epic intro, liked and subscribed notif Bell as well
I remember playing this game awhile back and my dad came it during a cut scene and thought I was watching a movie cause of how good it looked
You have made me wanna go back and play this game again!
Gotta say... this is one of the best hidden, low key, sponsored videos I've ever seen. You can't possibly convince me it wasn't sponsored by the new Fast and Furious.
What cracks me up is that those first person sequences are so disconnected from the main game that on the PC version when you go into one of those sections the game window literally closes and the section opens up in a new window, and vice versa after you finish said section.
Tbh it always feels like every complinist episode is coming out to try and catch the alogrithim and thus I’m really surprised that this isn’t coming out along with a release of one of the new games.
What assassins creed revelations got right was that I actually felt like I was apart of an assassins guild. Your recruits talked to you during their missions, yusuf and his guild were actually out in the world with you fighting, and even before that when you’re with them preparing. The rooftop race with the 4 other assassins and the where you’re the distraction so they can kill them. I just had a mission where we were tailing a Templar and we both dove behind chimneys when he turned. It was one of the few games where the assassins felt like an actual brotherhood
I enjoyed Revelations, always satisfying to finish off a trilogy, the third game always has the hardest job of bringing around that ending, we can all enjoy. Looking forward to more AC videos in the future ^^
I see what you did there with the Midnight Club music ;)
Kinda surprised he didn’t talk about the hidden hook blade, it low key helped with the counter combat, aswell helping you with parkour, yea it’s to counter the fact ezio is older but yet it was kinda cool for the game
great video man! and hey why not try Vagrant Story!!???
