If they served this kind of food at school, I'd still be going there!
@Click'Me Now⚠️ yes
Unfortunately all They serve is literally shit Mixed with garbage most of the time
Me too
True 😂
💀
The small can opener/spoon is called FRED, stands for Field Ration Eating Device. Of course the soldiers call it the F*cking Ridiculous Eating Device lol
Beat me to it Alex😁
😂
HEY ITS FREDD
If you've never had Vegemite before then you're certainly not going to get the right idea of it by eating it off a spoon. Best way is on some toast with butter, and then spread it on very thinly so you're just making the butter look browned. I find most people are very surprised how much they discover they like it when you introduce it like that.
Little Vegemite, lots of butter
yeah im never surprised when people dont like it because in general when you use spreads/marmalades/jams etc. we all usually just go hard out and use as much as you can, like if you LOVE jam, then more jam doesnt make it bad, but yeast extracts have this safe zone of butter-to-spread ratio, maybe we need to export pre-buttered vegemite
Finally someone who understands
No joke I’m Australian and I’ve never met another Australian who complains about Vegemite personally I don’t eat it often but now and then I get sudden cravings for the salty treat.
Grew up eating Vegemite and this is how I’d recommend eating it (also it’s great if you add cheese or use it as a base for a grilled cheese sandwich)
You ate so many MRE's you will be ome the strongest soldier !
Maybe the fattest.

The isotonic drinks contain (or at least they used to) a water purification compound, so that whatever water you used it would guarantee a safe drink. Not sure if they still do though.
Nope, the water purification tablets were seperate. The drinks are just meant to be used with recently purified water to make it taste less crap
As an Australian, Vegemite palates vary exponentially. The most often favoured way to eat vegemite, Is definitely not off a spoon. You would probably use half of what was on that spoon to a slice of bread, spread evenly, with the bread preferably buttered and toasted.
As an Australian, it hurts to see vegimite getting treated like some war food, it's just a jam
Fellow Aussie here (now living in the US), the love for Vegemite is strictly Australian. I've done my best to convert the Americans. Nope. On the bright side, they love meat pies and sausage rolls so not all is lost.
It really hurts to see it treated like that
I was just gonna say that! In England we've got Marmite, you either love it or hate it.
@@thomasbramwell9592 I live in England now and people say marmite is the same but really it isn't veggiemite is the way to go
@@angussutherland8962 what's the difference?
Mate, former RAAF medic here. The small spoon/can opener tool os called a FRED - Field Ration Eating Device. We called it a fucking ridiculous eating device. The rubber bands are used to keep the large bag that the CR1M comes in between meals. The Vegemite should be thinly spread on the crackers as bread. The matches are actually decent. However, instead of using the striking face on the top, there is a rougher striking surface on the side (for the green tube ones). Most of us also just carried lighters when out field.
In my experience with wildlife rescue, I’ve learned it’s best to keep seasonings with hot pepper out of reach of animals outside its natural habitat. During the process of grooming, an animal with pepper-based food on its paws or mouth can get it in their eyes, and end up blinding themselves trying to get it out. I recommend not leaving these in the woods, unless you’ve got a handy human to eat them. 😎
well he didn’t listen😅
So we all can say this guy always entertain us,love u vids
I think the rubber bands are for the candy or any bag if you leave something in you can keep it closed with the rubber band
That's definitely one common use for them. They pop up in different countries rations, to the point that I suspect that they are induced as they are so useful in general rather then being for one specific thing. They probably have been used just as many times as boot blousers then keeping a pack of chocolates closed.
also for blousing your trousers over your boots
How sad would you be if out in the field and the only thing to make fire with is those matches. I have seen quite a few different rations but, this one was amazing compared to what I have seen before!!
I really like your Videos. They show, how beautiful nature and live can be. Apologys for my bad english.
The structure is called a "Drückjagdbock" in German. It is used in Driven Hunts. You stand on higher ground to have a better overview and a more secure shooting angle. The bullet has an greater angle when it leaves the target and does not bounce off
Love from india ❤️ still watching you from 2 yrs
Love your Channel. Lots of Love and Respect from Lithuania 🇱🇹❤️🇺🇦

Love the channel, keep it up.
i think that rubber bands are to roll and keep left over food items packed in their packets for journey ahead
Australian here, can confirm that's what they're for.
@@Screwpaulrose ooooo yehhhhhhh

Let's goooo keep it up mate 🌻❤
i love all your videos. this is the best mre set i’ve seen you test so far,,,eh but those matches were disappointing.
As a Australian I am very offended at Vegemite being treated like that, it is like our unofficial nation food, it is not meant to taste like Nutella, you only need a little on some bread or even toast with butter and it goes really well with cheese. But to through it away and feed it to ants is crushing my inner Aussie - Doc
The new version of Aussie Rations or Rat Packs are a vast improvement of those over 30 years ago. I always carried a BIC Lighter & Swiss Army Knife in my pocket as we had to light Hexamine Tablets to boil water for the boil in the bag menu. The idea with these rations is that you have access to the Eat & Go snacks to provide nutrition as you march.
Matches are adjusted for Southern Hemisphere use only. You need specifically calibrated northern hemisphere matches for use there.
Anybody who doesn't live here in Australia always insist on eating Vegemite by the spoonful, that's not how you are supposed to eat it, you put a small amount of vegemite on a heavily buttered piece of toast and it's amazing! My daughter has been having Vegemite toast for breakfast most days since she was 10 months old, we practically all raise our children on it lol
Vegemite is yeast collected from the bottom of beer barrels. It's an Australian stapleand often put in kid's lunchboxes.
I listened to a podcast recently that described US, French and Russiann MRE .... they all sounded mostly very bad. It got me wondering what we feed our Australian defence forces out in the field so coming across your video was perfectly timed, and made me happy to see what we give our personelle to eat. Great vid.
The Aussies aren’t gonna be happy about you wasting Vegemite like that
If only he knew it was meant to be spread on bread.
Damn right we are, mate.
That tube of Vegemite is like gold mate. I'll happily trade my fruit bits for that tube. The rubber bands are to hold things together
As an Australian might I recommend adding a small portion of the vegemite with most of the dishes their would have given it a lot of great taste and I trust the comments already mentioned how eating the vegemite directly from a spoon wasn't the best course of action haha.
the rubber bands are to help you secure your rubbish, everything goes in the outer bag and folded closed when you are done with it and the rubber bands are used to hold everything in place.
Love these videos
ur the best youtuber !
3:45 thats our national dish you know! its delicious if you make it right. On toast with butter and just a little bit of vegemite. you dont need a lot
I believe the rubber bands are for securing the plastic bags, to keep things for later.
rubber bands could be for anything. For one such example, back in the day, they were useful for blousing your pants over your boots, since the old model trousers lacked draw-strings. I also fail to understand how people can drink beer, but not have Vegemite on a slice of bread.
Early lol, but hey i pray for you and your country everyday
Vegemite, Its mentioned in the song by Men At Work. Down Under. Always wanted to try some.
Werthers original are so good! Never seen that package tho
It’s a pain that the ADF changed their RAT Packmatch box design from a side striker to a top striker
I really love your video it's entertaining and informative and supports you from India U ´꓃ ` U
This video makes me reconsider what army to go to. Should I go to 🇬🇧 army or 🇦🇺 army.
I always have a double fun watching your videos, cause I speak both Russian and English
I read and understand a bit of Ukrainian and a little Russian - keeps it interesting lol
Hello if you save the plastic bags and use elestic bags to seal them up for carrying water
We don't have squirrels in Australia, but bunnies and hares are plenty, along with wombats, possums, kangaroos and some canines... 😁
I love vegemite. It's really good on toast, but it's an acquired taste.
The little green pot scrubbing pad is safe for non-stick cookware.
I just downed a small can of condensed milk earlier. Oomf... I kinda liked the sweet taste of it. I also miz it with shaved ice and some more sugar some times.
It was great video
Where do you get these army food packs. I am specially interested in the Danish army food pack
Very good videos u do sir
Wish I could buy some of these packs , would be nice to store.
Cool video thanks!
What a generous pack!😮❤ If you tske the condensed mik and boil it kt makes caramel! If you dont believe me, just google or KZhead it 😊
Cool
3:45 this make my day
your sitting in a hunters deer stand and the whitish coating on the chocolate is the chocolate fat separating from the solids perfectly safe to eat
thank god i brought food to watch this
Can be the that the rubber bands are used to keep the plastic bag wrapped if you don't finish up everything.
The Australian ration looks good but thats partially because it was designed to have a 2 year shelf life. Plenty of off the shelf foods last 2 years. Meanwhile the American MRE lasts 2.5 times that, 5 years Minimum or 10+ years in conditions without crazy high temperatures.
Love your presentation ,clearly to the British seriously lacks behind the Aussies ration pack😮
Thats a hunters tower but you have to bring your own blind(camo tarp)
That beetle went flying with those ants💀
I turned into a kettle when it fell💀
I’m a very picky person but mostly everything sounds good!
In the US military that can opener is called a P-38
One of those ants were like 'DAFUQZ ZIZ!?'
I'm devastated to see you treat Vegemite in such a disrespectful manner!! The way to eat it is on heavily buttered toast - spread a very small amount on top, just a small smear. It's very tasty like that.
my thai grandmother used to make bread with condensed milk i ate alot of it as a kid probably i could eat a whole tube back then but now don't think so
These rations have lots of simple carbs and preservatives in them. They are designed for short-term use by troops doing hard work in the field. Regular use by anyone who isn't a practicing athlete will result in rapid weight gain and metabolic issues. Even for athletes, it's not going to be good in the long run.
The 'jam sandwiches' are biscuits called Shrewsburys.
cool
The condensed milk you add too your coffee. 🇦🇺
The Vegamite is an Australian brand of toothpaste, try it.
please review a swiss army knife.including all uses of tools
where do you guys get those rations im interested in buying some to try out
Looks but if Iwas an Aussie solders I would definitely carry an esprit stove and lots of heat tablets
Alternate title: cooking in the woods.
The metal tool is called a FRED, Field Ration Eating Device
Can you try AFP meal or Philippine MRE to your next video??
they are for shuting the small bags those ruberbands
wow
Cool matches! 👍😂
Bands are to seal unfinished food items
Hey, could you please improve your video resolution , in the forests there are too many details so the video looks janky when you move the camera around......
I think it might have been intended for the condensed milk to be used when cooking the muesli?
You have spoken ill of Vegemite... NEVER SHOW YER FACE DOWN UNDAH!
Maybe the deer will eat the salty vegemite. Perhaps the tower is for spotting forest fires? 🔥
Probably is a hunting tower.
I love that kitty
It’s Vegemite, try putting it on your toast with butter make sure you put the butter on first 3:29 3:29
rubber bands are used to tie up waste in those plastic bags, have to keep the forest clean.
The chocolate isn't supposed to have a white coating its called bloom its the milk fats rising to the surface it's caused by the chocolate melting and reforming
Same with me in Aus
in 3:14 i saw packaged date 12/6/2019. i wonder how long expiration date on MRE was
Based on my personal experience, they are good for three years. I recently had one that was five years old and quite a few items had perished.
The aussie mre will keep you alive longer than an officer with a compass.
What model is that Boker knife? I can't seem to find it on their site. Thanks!
it look soooooooo good
No, I think it’s the striking strips fault 2:10 because that looks a lot darker than most striking steps I’ve seen 2:10 see 2:18
He bro I am Big fan of your
I'm born in New Zealand but live in Australia Vegemite is ment to be spread very thin with butter on bread or toast
Just one thing champ. That's not ketchup you put on that jerky. It's tomato sauce. Slightly different flavours.
