I filtered my database for LLinusLLove's biggest hands-on the High Stakes Cash Game tables at Pokerstars and reviewed them for you guys. In the hands, we will also see other huge names on the High Stakes Poker scene like OtB_RedBaron, Limitless, and Trueteller.
But I'm not alone for this video: I've invited my good friend Daniel aka. "Showofforce." He used to be a BluffTheSpot student and joined us when he was playing NL100 because he was struggling to move up to higher stakes.
With the support from BluffTheSpot, he was able to move up to Nosebleeds in less than one year. He actually made a video about his process and how he managed to do that. You can find it here: • How I Made it from Low...

    • JICM25 He didn’t have the implied odds indeed. Maybe it’s more like a overall strategy thing. 56 is his best draw, and if he doesn’t call that, he’s exploitable because Vilain can overbluff him. (Minimum defense frequency)

      @janus11@janus114 жыл бұрын

      @JICM25@JICM254 жыл бұрын
    • @@JICM25 They quickly explain it in the video, I'll try to make it clear. When you decide if you float marginal hands in these kind of spot you have to consider every aspects of it, not just implied odds. The board is very dry which means LL calling range can only be medium to good made hands. So the times Otb checks the river, if LL has no pure bluffs (hands with very poor showdown value), he will extract less value from his best hands because in the long run Otb could just fold all of his bluffcatching candidates (in these spots of course) which denies the opportunity for LL to have an expensive polarized betting strategy (that almost always have a better EV and is harder to play against). So the overall range equity may be much greater when he floats this combo (which is the best possible draw with double gutter).

      @skrell6071@skrell60714 жыл бұрын
    • @@skrell6071 So basically Linus objective in that spot was to bluff the river if a card that benefits his range shows up, is that what you saying? And theoretocally he has a balanced frequency of floats in that specific spot (facing an overpot turn in a dry board) against that specific opponent ? But then again, if you think about it, it´s a dry board, otb overpots the turn, when is he not gonna shove the river?

      @JICM25@JICM254 жыл бұрын
  • Tbh otb completely outplayed him on the first hand. With seeing the cards I was like well if he overbets this turn 56 cant call or if it does call it is not profitable. Do this hand 100 times with the exact action to the turn and the river action can change depending on the card otb will win money every time. Its not like they are 500bb behind and otb has a set of kings vs this hand that will always pay off if he hits.

    @adamo36532@adamo365324 жыл бұрын
    • I don't quite understand "he has a lot of implied odds" when there's 15k immediate and 20k behind, calling 8k when you're 18% to hit. Max win is like 4.5x so we should need like 22%, right? And that's assuming we get paid every time we hit.

    • Sam Elderfield I’ve seen from other comments that he was calling to be able to bluff on the river if he missed and tt checked. But that seems to be an excuse , a check from TT will most likely not fold.

      @Gos1234567@Gos12345674 жыл бұрын
    • Its about frequencies. Linus has to call more than 40% of his range on the turn for not making profitable to OTB bet with any two. He has 8 outs. He should call. At least sometimes.

Linus is a very good, well built player who understands this game on a very deep level. So yes, he might have been lucky in some of those hands. Idk. Questionable though I suppose it’s gambling and you’ve got to say wtf sometimes when there’s implied odds with a hidden made hand. Would A5 continue on turn? Same 8 outs of given the 3 bet pre (possibly AK) would you consider the A dead with only 4 outs and therefore fold?
